The Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity is pleased to announce the launch of a new program exclusively focused on university students. It has long been our intent to create programs for the next generation of liberty leaders who will carry forth the message of peace and prosperity. This year will see the realization of our plans thanks to a group of generous supporters.

The Ron Paul Scholars Seminar will be an all-day intensive series of lectures designed to be both theoretical and practical on the topic of “The National Security State or a Foreign Policy of Peace?” The event will take place on Friday, August 23rd and to round out the event, the Scholars will also participate in the Ron Paul Institute’s Washington conference the following day, on August 24th.

The program will begin at approximately 10:00 on Friday morning and the tentative schedule is as follows:

10:00 - 11:15: Overthrow of the Old Republic and Origins of the National Security State. Presenter, Jacob Hornberger, Founder and President, Future of Freedom Foundation.

11:20-12:15: Challenging the Mainstream Media’s Control of the Narrative. Presenter, Luke Rudkowski, investigative journalist and founder of We Are Change.

12:30-1:30: Luncheon. Keynote speaker, a special guest to be announced.

1:30-2:15: Is the Deep State Real? Presenter, Philip Giraldi, former CIA counter-terrorism operations officer and columnist for Unz Review.

2:30-3:30: Toward a Foreign Policy of Peace. Presenter, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell and Professor at William and Mary College.

This seminar is designed for upper division university students and graduate students and will be conducted by academics and experts of high achievement in their respective fields.

Successful applicants will understand that this is a program demanding a high level of independence and self-reliance. Scholars are expected to make their own travel and hotel arrangements and to pay for the meals not covered in the included events. Thanks to a group of donors, the Ron Paul Institute is able to provide reimbursement scholarships of up to $500 for each scholar to cover these costs.

Interested students are asked to fill out an application form and submit it by July 24th. Successful applicants will be notified by August 2nd and will be expected to make travel plans quickly.

There are only ten available places in this first year’s pilot program, so interested students should waste no time in applying.

Successful Ron Paul Scholars will be expected to have read a modest but important selection of relevant articles before the seminar, which will be provided to them, and will be also expected to complete a minimum 500 word paper suitable for publication at the Ron Paul Institute website within one month of completing the seminar.
