The Brexit Party rally taking place in Birmingham today has already seen more than 5,000 tickets sold. It is being described as “the biggest in modern political times”
Party leader Nigel Farage will unveil the £200billion spending aimed at Britain’s regions outside London, where many of the Leave-supporting communities are based.
The new pledges will include rebuilding the transport system outside London.
There will also be a guarantee of faster, free broadband for every home and free wi-fi on all buses and trains outside London.
In government the Brexit Party would also take control of UK fishing waters and revive coastal communities.
It would also remove business rates for any new high street business located outside London and it would cancel the interest on all student loans.
Mr Farage told the Sunday Express: “For years now, London has thrived while the rest of the country has been left behind. That’s why the Brexit Party will carry out the largest regional investment since the end of the Second World War, using the Brexit dividend to invest in the rest.
“Labour has become the party of North London, not the North of England, and the European election results show that the Labour heartlands have become the Brexit heartlands.
“They say it’s a postcode lottery, but a lottery only works if everybody has the same chance of winning. How can it be a lottery if there is no chance of winning?”
Most of the money will come from the £39billion saved from cancelling the deal with the EU, scrapping the £14billion foreign aid budget and cancelling the HS2 (High Soeed) project which is thought to be costing over £100billion.
The investment in UK regions will be 2.5 times the level spent on rebuilding post-Second World War Europe.
