So What Do We Do Now About the State Which DID Attack the Tankers? Since it Wasn't Iran?

Media today seems to hope it can just drop talking about the latest failed false flag and we'll forget all about it, go back to Mueller report and the Kardashians. But some bastards somewhere nearly started WWIII. Likeliest suspects: Israeli Mossad, Saudi intel, CIA, or some combination of these.

I say not so fast. They got caught red-handed. Now what?

"Company president Yutaka Katada said Friday he believes the flying objects seen by the sailors could have been bullets. He denied any possibility of mines or torpedoes because the damage was above the ship's waterline. He called reports of a mine attack "false.""

We don't know it wasn't Iran. The Japanese company president said it could be anybody- they want more information before they decide- he does not say it wasn't Iran and he does not say it was. What they did dispute is the claimed method of attack since people onboard his ship noted something "flying" towards the ship. They reported Iranian ships in the area.

The Japanese government has refrained so far from commenting on who is responsible for the attacks.

Pompeo said in a press conference Thursday that the United States' assessment was based on their "intelligence, the weapons used, the level of expertise needed to execute the operation, recent similar Iranian attacks on shipping, and the fact that no proxy group operating in the area has the resources and proficiency to act with such a high degree of sophistication."A source close to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said, "These are not definite proof that it's Iran."

"Even if it's the United States that makes the assertion, we cannot simply say we believe it," he said.

If having expertise sophisticated enough to conduct the attack could be a reason to conclude that the attacker was Iran, "That would apply to the United States and Israel as well," said a source at the Foreign Ministry.

Yes, that is Japan saying it could be anybody- not that it was one of those countries.

"That would apply to the United States and Israel as well,"

Almost sounds like a diversionary type tactic . What nutjob attacks a Nip oil tanker with a machinegun and denies it later ? I kind of wonder what else was going on .

Company president Yutaka Katada said Friday he believes the flying objects seen by the sailors could have been bullets. He denied any possibility of mines or torpedoes because the damage was above the ship's waterline. He called reports of a mine attack "false."

Katada said the crew members also spotted an Iranian naval ship nearby, but didn't specify whether that was before or after the attacks.

The tanker survived the first attack, which hit near the engine room and was followed by another, damaging the starboard side toward the back.

Iran attempted to shoot down US drone over tanker attack site in Gulf of Oman

Iran attempted to shoot down a U.S. drone that was surveilling the attack on one of two tankers hit in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday morning, U.S. Central Command said. The attempt missed the MQ-9 Reaper by "approximately 1 kilometer."

The Japanese-owned Kokuka Courageous, along with another tanker, the Front Altair, were damaged by mines that the U.S. said Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had placed on the ship's hulls.

"According to our assessment, a modified Iranian SA-7 surface-to-air missile attempted to shoot down a U.S. MQ-9, at 6:45 a.m. local time, June 13, over the Gulf of Oman, to disrupt surveillance of the IRGC attack on the M/T Kokuka Courageous," CENTCOM spokesperson Lt. Col. Earl Brown said in a statement to ABC News on Saturday.

CENTCOM said that, prior to the attempt by Iran to shoot down the MQ-9, the drone had observed the Front Altair on fire.

"The SA-7 was ineffective and its closest point of approach to the MQ-9 was approximately 1 kilometer," Brown said. "Subsequent analysis indicates that this was a likely attempt to shoot down or otherwise disrupt the MQ-9 surveillance of the IRGC attack on the M/T Kokuka Courageous."

In the day following the attacks, Iranian small boats prevented salvage tugs from towing the Front Altair, as they had been contracted to do, a U.S. official told ABC News.

The 23 mariners on board the Front Altair were rescued shortly after Thursday's attack by the Hyundai Dubai, but Iranians aboard small boats quickly demanded the crew be turned over to their custody. The master of the Hyundai Dubai contacted the headquarters of his shipping company in Seoul and was instructed not to turn the crew over to the Iranians. However, the ship's master felt he had no choice but to comply with the Iranian demands.

The Kokuka Courageous is now in territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates, a second official said.

CENTCOM also confirmed on Saturday that another U.S. MQ-9 was shot down by a Houthi SA-6 surface-to-air missile over Yemen on June 6.

"The altitude of the engagement indicated an improvement over previous Houthi capability, which we assess was enabled by Iranian assistance," Brown said.
The drone was probably the source of the video the US released claiming to show Iran removing a device from one of the ships attacked.

No, that was apparently a Navy helicopter. https://www.wiscnews.com/news/nation...a4cedce92.html

Zippy.. It would be pretty normal for Iranian Boats to be in Iranian Waters..

    Coast Guard,, guarding the coast..

    Seriously

I would look at the foreign Warships crowding the shipping lanes.

What other ships are reported to have been in the area at the time? (I have not heard any others mentioned at all).

The damage to the ship does not match with bullet holes- the Japan company boss speculated that what was seen flying towards the ship might have been bullets (does not say it was). But he was not there and was speculating.

Company president Yutaka Katada said Friday he believes the flying objects seen by the sailors could have been bullets.

    US, Israel,

Both have a history of unprovoked attacks.

Well, they did say there was a drone near by.

Perhaps the drone fired some missiles at the tanker and that's what was seen flying.

Might account for why the Iranian navy was shooting at a drone.

The drone was there after the attacks. Distress call went out at 6:12 am and the drone was there half an hour later.

And maybe the drone was circling the area after it made it's attack. That would account for the "surveillance" part of the story.

Where would the drone be at the time of the attack, that it would be able to show up 30 minutes later?

Bases in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia? We also have a base in Oman. One was shot down in Yemen last week.

    https://www.thenation.com/article/am...e-drone-bases/

In the past, other UAVs have apparently been flown from Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base and Al Jaber Air Base, as well as Seeb Air Base in Oman.

At Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the Air Force runs an air operations command and control facility, critical to the drone wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

A drone missile attack on a tank in Syria (damage to the ship was to small to have been one of these).
