A fourth U.S. tourist died after he fell critically and suddenly ill at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic about a month before three others died in their rooms, Fox News has learned.

Robert Bell Wallace, 67, of California, became ill almost immediately after he had a scotch from the room minibar at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino resort in Punta Cana, his niece, Chloe Arnold, told Fox News on Sunday. He was in the Dominican Republic to attend his stepson’s wedding.

Arnold said her uncle, an avid traveler, had been in relatively good health and just the month before had been skiing in Lake Tahoe.

Arnold said the family has been particularly concerned after having recently learned of the other seemingly mysterious deaths in the Dominican Republic. Miranda Schaup-Werner, a Pennsylvania woman, died almost four weeks later, on May 25, after she had a drink from her minibar at another hotel, the Bahia Principe La Romana.

Dominican officials said Schaup, Holmes and Day had pulmonary edema, a condition in which the lungs fill with fluid. They said Schaup, 41, who collapsed after having the minibar drink at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville -- which is adjacent to the sister hotel where Holmes and Day died -- died of a heart attack, though her family said she was healthy.

In recent days, the family of a Pennsylvania woman who was vacationing in the Dominican Republic last year said she died in her room at the Bahia Principe Resort in Punta Cana resort after she had a drink from the minibar. Relatives of Yvette Monique Sport, 51, told Fox 29 Philadelphia she was visiting the popular tourist spot last June, had a drink, later went to bed, and never woke up. Her death certificate said her official cause of death was a heart attack.

On May 30, an engaged couple from Maryland, Edward Holmes, 63, and Cynthia Day, 49, died in their room at the Bahia Principe La Romana. A hotel employee found them unresponsive in their room after they failed to check out.

According to TMZ, John, who visited the Dominican Republic frequently, was waiting for his girlfriend to join him on the vacation when a friend discovered his body in a hotel suite. While no autopsy was performed, Barbara was informed that the cause of death was a heart attack.

A Woodbridge man vacationing in the Dominican Republic was reportedly found dead in his hotel room, the latest death of an American tourist in the Caribbean country to leave family members demanding answers.

Joseph Allen, 55, of the Avenel neighborhood, was discovered in his room at the Terra Linda Resort in Sosúa, his sister, Jamie Reed, told ABC News Monday.

Reed said her brother complained of feeling hot and not feeling well. He decided to take a shower and rest in his room for the night, according to the report. He was found dead June 13.

High quality, name brand booze, all you can drink? Yeah, hard to imagine that is really what is in those bottles, even without any “poisoning”.

New York woman found dead in the Dominican Republic a day after her 53rd birthday, son says

A New York woman was found dead Tuesday in her hotel room in the Dominican Republic, just a day after celebrating her 53rd birthday, according to NBC News.

Leyla Cox, who was from Staten Island, traveled to Punta Cana on June 5 for a birthday trip. She was staying at the Excellence resort, where she had stayed twice before, Will Cox, Leyla's son, told NBC's Nightly News.

Amid several reports of other deaths of American tourists, Will said he tried to warn his mom, but said he wasn't able to before her death.

"On June 11th, my worst fears came true," he said to NBC on Friday. "She was pronounced dead."

While the family still has no confirmed cause of death, Will said that a Dominican police report listed that she died of a heart attack, according to Fox News.

Clinton made the comments Tuesday while visiting the Playa Grande Golf Course in Rio San Juan.

“It’s beautiful, and I think the Dominican Republic is well on its way to full recovery from the little hiccup we had over the tourism,” he said. “This is a great place – and everybody should come here and see it.”

Unknown ‘health emergency’ blamed for three American deaths at Bahamas Sandals resort

Three Americans mysteriously died of convulsions at the luxury all-inclusive Sandals Emerald Bay Resort in the Bahamas on Friday and a fourth has been hospitalized after an unknown “health emergency” suddenly occurred.

“On their arrival at the scene, they were directed to the first villa. On entering a bedroom, they found a caucasian male laying on the ground unresponsive,” the Royal Bahama Police Force said in a statement that was posted on Twitter.

Officers proceeded to go to a second villa where they found a man unresponsive and “slumped on the wall in the bathroom.” The woman with him was found unresponsive in a bedroom on a bed. Both appeared to have suffered convulsions before dying.

“The officers examined the bodies and found no signs of trauma. The local doctor later pronounced both persons dead,” the Bahama police reported.

The couple found dead in the second villa had reportedly felt ill the night before and had sought medical treatment according to the police statement. After being treated, they returned to their lodgings at the resort in Exuma.
