Don Johnson is an elder in my church and I've never met him. He was converted to Christianity while on death row. As a result of his conversion he has led many others behind bars to Christ and he even runs a radio ministry. He is scheduled to die this week. His step daughter, and the biological daughter of the woman he killed, no longer wants him to die. I was at a prayer vigil a couple of months ago and I heard clergy from several faiths, Catholic, Episcopalian, Seventh Day Adventist and others, remark on how impressed they have been with Don over the years for his ministry, leadership and spiritual walk. (Don himself is Seventh Day Adventist). I simply don't see the purpose in the state putting him to death. Not at this point. There will be a rally on his behalf at the state capital in Nashville this afternoon and I will be attending. I don't know yet what time it is at the moment, but I will add that to this thread once I get it.
