Lara Trump says refugees ‘one of the worst things that ever happened’ to Germany

Lara Trump has denounced Germany’s acceptance of refugees, claiming Chancellor Angela Merkel’s immigration policies have led to the European nation’s “downfall".
Ms Trump, who serves as the face of Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign, joined Fox Business to discuss the president’s immigration agenda when she made the controversial remarks about the influx of people in 2015.
“It was the downfall of Germany,” she said about refugees and migrants being accepted into the country. “It was one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany.”
“This president knows that,” she continued, “he’s trying to prevent that from happening here, but Congress has got to get their act together and do the right thing here for the American people.”

No shortage of future leaders in this family. Pretty thoughtful and compassionate analysis, quite a few intellectuals in Trump clan and they do not always get media coverage they deserve.

Luckily MAGA is not making same mistake as Germany but lately still seems to be losing battle of perceptions among increasing number of conservatives. Perhaps Lara could be a good voice to counter damaging narrative being psuhed by likes of Ann Coulter, Tucker Carlson, Lara Loomer etc.

Ann Coulter: Trump by the Numbers

    Blaming MAGA for Border Rush

Some in the past have tried to blame MAGA's messaging and tweets for accelerating border rush but he was trying to quickly resolve issues left unsolved by previous Dem administration and was by no means inviting more to join the pool before Congress acts. Critics like Breitbart writers, Coulter, Tucker etc have been too rough on MAGA on this.

MAGA's pre-election 2015 messaging did not cause much problem with the base as 2017 messaging did.

Senators push for new visas for Afghans supporting US mission

By CLAUDIA GRISALES | STARS AND STRIPES Published: May 15, 2019
WASHINGTON — A bipartisan group of senators rolled out legislation Wednesday to provide 4,000 new visas for Afghans who have supported the U.S. mission in Afghanistan, as Congress continues its battle with the Trump administration over immigration.
The legislation is needed because the Afghans, whose lives are in danger because of their service, are facing new roadblocks put in place by President Donald Trump to attain visas, said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., who sponsoring the plan.
Shaheen added she was concerned by reports the administration has drastically reduced the distribution of such visas through the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa and Iraqi Direct Access programs.

“Afghan civilians continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Americans in the battlefield at tremendous risk to the safety and welfare of their families,” Shaheen said. “Their service in support of our military and diplomatic personnel in Afghanistan has saved American lives and we have an obligation to provide sanctuary from terrorist threats.”
The Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2019 would provide the 4,000 visas by the end of fiscal year 2019, which ends Sept. 30. It also addresses new administrative obstacles put in place that prevent Afghan and Iraqi allies from receiving visas.
Shaheen has been joined by Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Jack Reed, D-R.I., Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Cory Gardner, R-Colo., and Tim Kaine, D-Va., to launch the legislation. All are members of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Shaheen has worked on the Afghan visa effort for several years alongside the late Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, who died in August.
