Ben Swann ON: CA Considers Erasing Records For Low Level Offenders

    March 13, 2019

A new bill introduced in the California legislature would wipe the slate clean for millions of people who have served time in prison - but law enforcement agencies would still be able to access these records.

Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

If low law enforcement can still see it the only advantage would be that potential employers cannot ?

Better we should return to the standard that no record is retained (much less published) if a person is found not guilty in a court of law.

    Elevating LE , no thanks.
If its low level Crime and its to be erased, then erase it.

If a prison term is served, I don't see the crimes as being 'low level' .

Records are still listed with an outcome. Not guilty, dismissed, Nolle Pros etc on the records. You have to make a request to the state in order to get stuff expunged.

If a violation has been committed against person or property it is a crime. Otherwise, statutes and ordinances are not crimes and therefore should be not be recorded by the public or LE, period.

There was a time when, if a person was not found guilty, the record vanished automatically.
