Thread: My Boss Approached me...

    My Boss Approached me...

He said he noticed the 4x2 sign on my windshield and the 12x18 signs on my side windows...and he wondered if I was the one putting flyers in all the bathroom stalls and bulletin boards. I said yes, I am not liar.

He said that the political propaganda needs to stay out of the building, but they can't tell me what to do with my vehicle in the lot. He also mentioned that if I parked in a slightly different direction, more people could see it from the upper floors.

He is a Ron supporter himself!!! I love it...

I wait tables at lunch... someone asked me about Ron Paul because I am a known supporter in the area... in the middle of my answer, the manager tells me to stop... so of course, I went off on my manager and left.... a lot of F-U's and the like.... I'm tired of being silenced.

Perhaps you should have told the customer about the website and not been a dick to your manager.

    Yeah.

It does get frustrating at times....I've been there too.

But we've got to keep a gentlemanly appearance not be labeled as a "rabble rouser."

Someone who owns/runs a business doesn't have the right to ask employees to stop discussing political things? I hardily disagree with that. Now quitting was definitely your right, but what did all the foul language accomplish other than to alienate you from potential supporters?

I don't think he said that, although I agree that the language may not have helped.

My boss is a Ron Paul supporter, too! I hang out at his place weekly. We get drunk and play video games. It's a nice break for the normal every day wife & kids stuff.

Also, my dad owns a diner. I only work there once a week (full time job is w/ Comcast), but I would never really discuss politics there. Now if a customer was asking me, that's a different story, but I'd be the last person to bring it up. I don't think I'd tell "my boss" off if he told me to stop. My dad is awesome, so he really wouldn't care either way.

I already bought 300! I keep a bunch in my car and give them to a waitress/waiter whenever I go out to eat at a restaurant. Most of the wait staff at my dad's diner already supports Ron Paul, though. My cousin and I (she works there full time) have been converting them one by one.

My dad will never support a Republican. He simply refuses, thanks to Bush. Oh well, my mom is cool with RP!

I feel the same way. It's ok because I don't consider Ron Paul to be a Republican. I know many of my fellow RP supporters would disagree.

I also consider the rest of the candidates to be Neo-con scum bag traitors that should be tried in court for treason against the constitution.

I make a point of it not to start a conversation about Ron Paul at work. I did put a big RP sticker on my monitor, wear RP T-shirts to work (about once a week) and have my car full of RP stickers.

One guy who is into politics constantly talks to me about Paul (he's gonna vote for Clinton, but would like to see Paul do well). Another will ask me occasionally how my man is doing. Another dubbed my car the Ron Paul mobile. Another keeps telling me "cool shirt" whenever I wear my Ron Paul shirt. Next time, I'll hit her up with some RP links (probably the Stossel videos). Yesterday, during our X-mas lunch, one of them said, "Hey, that guy Ron Paul... My yoga instructor is really into him." I replied that I'd heard that a yoga instructor in my area started up a meetup group. He said, "His name is Steven Vincent." Ha. Yeah, I totally know him. Small world. Felt a bit uncomfortable discussing RP's policies because we had some independent contractors sitting with us, so I just talked about how many people are in the meetup groups, how diverse they are, how we are gonna have a blimp in the air, and that we're gonna have a big donation day this Sunday.
You either believe that within your society more individuals are good than evil, and that by protecting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible, or you believe that within your society more individuals are evil than good, and that by limiting the freedom of individuals within that society you will end up with a society that is as fair as possible.
