Will USS Liberty Survivors Get a Call for New Investigation by Rep. Omar, of Israeli Attack?

She's proven pretty fearless so far, despite apologizing when she really had nothing to apologize for in saying AIPAC influences American politics. What's the controversy there when even Netanyahu bragged in 2001:

"I know what America is. America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won't get in their way."
The USS Liberty survivors of the 1967 Israeli attack on the American ship are calling, to this very day, for a new investigation which would rectify the original cover-up, which was ordered to conclude that the deaths of 34 American sailors was an accident. It was not an accident, they say, but a false flag attack to sink the ship in order to blame it on Egypt so that the US would attack that country, which was Israel's arch-enemy. This was what Admiral Thomas Moorer thought, also chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. There is no shortage of heavy hitters who have said they don't buy the "accident explanation one bit, including US Secretary of State Dean Rusk, CIA Director Richard Helms, CIA Deputy Director Admiral Rufus Taylor, former NSA Director Army Lieutenant General William Odom, on and on. Further more now both major veterans groups American Legion and VFW have called the official story a cover-up.

What are the chances the surviving crew might finally get a receptive ear in Rep. Ilhen Omar, for at least a call for a new investigation, even if it doesn't go anywhere? Omar would have plenty of political cover by citing these names, not to mention the extraordinary comportment of aging survivors, who tell their story in the documentary The Day Israel Attacked America.

We saw how much red-pilling went on after Omar called out AIPAC, and people are still arguing about it. When AIPAC was formed, Senator William Fulbright called for it to register as a foreign agent. So did JFK. JFK also supported the right of return for Palestinian refugees.

You start saying the emperor has no clothes and there's no telling where it winds up. Let this misbegotten "alliance" between America and the criminal state be tested as never before.

Chicago Tribune 2007: Declassified Israeli cables add evidence USS Liberty no accident:

"The cables obtained by the Tribune, and translated from Hebrew to English, are were published in a 2007 special report. They detail exchanges between the Israeli ambassador in Washington and the Israeli foreign minister in Tel Aviv. Five days after the attack, Israeli Ambassador Avraham Harman worried that the deliberate nature of the attack had been uncovered, and cabled Foreign Minister Abba Eban that a source, code-named "Hamlet," had told him that the Americans had:

"clear proof that from a certain stage the pilot discovered the identity of the ship and continued the attack anyway."

As the diplomatic uproar over the attack played out, Harman cabled three days later that:

"the Americans probably have findings showing that our pilots indeed knew that the ship was American.""

Do you think its advisable to confiscate the legitimate grievances of others to push a political candidate here, one that wouldn't bat an eye if anyone on this site suffered from any magnitude of injustice? Someone who votes against the clear text of the second amendment, support of which probably being the smallest common denominator here (mostly, and where does disarmament register on the scales of injustice?). Do you think it will work?

She's so fearless that she signed a resolution condemning the substance of her own statement

    C'mon.

I have no love for Omar and I disagree with JML on many issues but JML has shown a consistent dedication to this issue and it is a legitimate one.
If Omar does something about it then she will have been useful for something more than any other Dem likely to be elected from her district would have been.

I would be happy with a congress of many divergent viewpoints even those I disagreed with, as long as they were sincerely held by men and women of courage.

Instead we have a bathtub full of spineless jellyfish and prostitutes for money swimming around the toxic sludge of the Swamp. There is more courage in the fingernail of the pinky finger of any Liberty survivor than the entirely of the US House.

$#@!in' A! Lenin had courage, after all, total courage in his convictions. Again, Mrs. Omar has so much courage that she signed a resolution condemning the substance of her own statement.

So your logic is anyone with courage is Lenin?

Then she goes off and calls Obama a smiling murderer, president in her own party. Love it.

JML, what are your thoughts on this question... could this happen?
Even if IO made such a call, it would likely remain just a news headline and Dems/GOP may pass another resolution against bigotry. But if MAGA made this call, things could happen.

Will USS Liberty Survivors Get a Call for New Investigation by America-First MAGA champion, of Israeli Attack?

If MAGA made this call it would be a declaration of total war on Deep State. If I were MAGA and was going to do this I immunize myself by saying first "No one believe any stories about a lone-wolf gunman. If I'm hit, it's battle stations."

Then have an insurance policy like Julian Assange to guarantee release of all NSA and CIA files which implicate Deep State in all the JFK/false flags of the last 60 years. The White Hats have them. Give them all to Assange to publish and start making arrests before they board for Uruguay and Dubai. Clintons, Bushes, Project for a New American Century Neocons, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Chertoff, Obama, ALL of them.

Flush the Swamp. Peacefully. By rule of law. They are the ones who have been lawless. Not us.

IO has a lot on her plate right now fending off attacks from both fellow Dems and GOP's America-First leadership, perhaps so called titans-crusher and wildly popular liberal socialist rising star AOC can pick up some slack for time being?

4 major lessons from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's titanic upset in New York
Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
    Wed June 27, 2018

Shame on Dems that it took them 15 years to vote out a politician who had voted for the biggest blunder in US history (Iraqi Freedom War) even if he was a champion of our closest ally & only non-racist democracy in mideast.
Wonder how much role voters' disgust with recent massacre of civilians in open air camp in mideast with US tax payers funded weapons played in this election upset.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the insurgent firebrand who Tuesday toppled the No. 4 Democrat in the House of Representatives, is a strong critic of Israel who denounced the killings of Palestinian protesters as a “massacre.”

June 26, 2018 By Dave Goldiner
    This is a massacre.
I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such.
No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else.
    Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore. https://t.co/wJGATOtDsR— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Ocasio2018) May 14, 2018
Ocasio-Cortez, 28, stunned the political world by decisively beating Joe Crowley, a Queens powerbroker who had been mentioned as a possible future candidate for Speaker of the House.
With about 90% of precincts reporting, Ocasio-Cortez was ahead by 58%-to-42%, making Crowley the first incumbent Democrat to lose his seat this year.

“Especially in New York people say this is political suicide,” Ocasio-Cortez told Glenn Greenwald of the Intercept, referring to her criticism of Israel. “But I had a lot of my constituents thanking me for taking that position. I had a lot of Jewish Americans who thanked me.”

If Omar doesn't do anything about it we will know that she isn't really sincere or full of courage.

It would be interesting if she and AOC at least attending the survivor's memorial ceremony in DC this year.

Yes it would be, but it would be even more interesting if Mike Pence and Kevin McCarthy from GOP-Adelson wing also joined.

Somethings are bit confusing in the ongoing narrative here. Correct if wrong reading, your comments suggest you don't think Israel lobbies in America put America First and are obstacle to this investigation. If that's correct reading of your view, do you support current GOP leadership funded by Israel champion Sheldon Adelson or oppose him?

Is your view that following policies are being done out of fear and and not willingly to attract political funding from pro-Israeli lobbies?
Do you see following policies as betrayal of USS Liberty heroes ?

Pentagon deploys American troops in Israel

Mega-donor Adelson, with access and influence, scores two pro- Israel victories
These are heady days for casino billionaire and megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
A passionate and hawkish advocate for Israel with close ties to its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Adelson was in Jerusalem today for a celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation to that city, a longstanding priority for the mogul. Similarly, Adelson had pushed hard for President Donald Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, which happened last week.
And the day after that announcement, Adelson quietly slipped into the White House for a private meeting with Trump and three top administration officials: Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and an Adelson favorite, National Security Adviser John Bolton, according to two conservative sources familiar with the previously unreported private event.

Many in GOP base are still busy writing strongly worded articles about his Wall funding campaign promise while his top funders demands on Iran deal cancellation/implementation of crushing sanctions, US Embassy move in Israel, bombing of Syria, max military and foreign aid for Israel, continued troops presence in mideast are fulfilled promptly.

A despicable betrayal by those always first to bray "support the troops."

Wait a minute, that's sounds too incredible. He can publicly attack, insult heads of agencies like FBI, CIA and US military generals and get away with it but you're sugesting he can't call for investigation of attack by a foreign country that killed US sailors for fear of his safety? Were you referring to US Deep State or that of some foreign country?

Trump Says if He Runs in Israel He Would Get 98% of The Vote

You're not implying his current foreign policy is being conducted under some sort of duress/ fear of some foreign deep state like this disgraced AJT editor had hinted about? For the current bold POTUS, that sounds hard to believe.

If Trump questions the USS Liberty, then he by implication questions all the other Big Lies we have been fed for 50 years, including the murder of JFK and 9/11. He already took a big step in that direction by appearing on the Alex Jones show, and giving what Jones says some semblance of legitimacy. That is dangerous territory, and involves not just Israel but all the traitors in the Deep State who set up the false flags for the gun grab agenda and other agendas. They have been murdering Americans, and more Americans are waking up to it.

    Remember what GHW Bush said.

"‘Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they would chase us down the street and lynch us." - George Herbert Walker Bush to Sarah McLendon, a Texas journalist who Bush had known for years and who was the grand dame of the White House press corps at the time

Could POTUS be alreading involved behind the scene:

President Trump, Let Me Tell You About the Attack on the USS Liberty

    Joe Meadors / September 3, 2017

USS Liberty Survivor Bryce Lockwood Meets With President Donald Trump

Fresh off his trip to Reno, Nevada where he was instrumental in accomplishing the previously unheard of task of persuading The American Legion to pass Resolution 40 calling on Congress to conduct an investigation of the attack on our ship, USS Liberty Survivor, Bryce Lockwood had a one-on-one meeting with President Donald Trump.

Not one to rest on his laurels and recognizing that while this opportunity has never presented itself before, Bryce quickly briefed the President about the attack and the fact that it has never been investigated by the US government after which he slipped a USS Liberty Challenge Coin into Mr. Trump’s hand.
Bryce then spent time briefing the personnel accompanying Mr. Trump about the USS Liberty and of our effort to ensure the US government finally conducts an investigation of the attack. Everyone he spoke with was very interested in what Bryce had to say. Probably because many were either active duty military, veterans or – like USS Liberty Survivor Lloyd Painter – members or veterans of the Secret Service.

This is encouraging. Can you imagine the hearing they would have gotten from Hillary? Zero.

Agreed, she's no lover of freedom.

But if she actually called for a new investigation, it would be epic.

It would also be seen as a provocation to the Israeli power structure in the US who have made it all but illegal to criticize Israel or AIPAC.
