Guaido Not Arrested In Venezuela - Rubio And Bolton Outraged!

US-named Venezuela president Juan Guaido defied the Venezuelan government and returned to the country yesterday. US neocons were hoping that his arrest would open the door to US military action. They were disappointed. The Venezuelan government stood down and allowed his return. What's next for the regime changers?

The next step will be Guaido defying the Maduro regime in every other way he can, if they arrest him it will be an incident, if they don't it will weaken Maduro and make it easier to get people to support Guaido.

Exactly. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will the neocons get their war?

Arresting Guaido would turn him into more of a martyr for his cause as well as more proof of Maduro's abuse of power to eliminate opposition. Guaido has been arrested before but released within the hour. Russia (Maduro's biggest supporter) says not arresting him was a "clever move". http://tass.com/world/1047621

CARACAS, March 6. /TASS/. The unimpeded return of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido to the country cannot be regarded as any sort of validation that incumbent President Nicolas Maduro is weak, Venezuelan political analyst and consultant Dimitris Pantulas has told TASS.

Guaido left the country in late February despite the Supreme Court’s ban and arrived in Caracas on Monday without encountering any resistance from the authorities. "Guaido’s arrival in the country shows <…> that Maduro acted cleverly and rationally [by letting him enter the country], and this cannot in any way be seen as some sort of demonstration [of his] weakness, as some assert. The situation is exactly the opposite," Pantulas pointed out.

According to the expert, the head of state realizes that Guaido’s arrest would have led to intensified pressure on the Venezuelan government from the international community and to the amplification of protests in Caracas that would have gone hand in hand with violence. In his view, this scenario is "the last thing that Maduro wants at the moment."

Abuse of power? if someone twit representative after a failed coup attempt traveled to North Korea to talk to his sponsors returned by to this country after such a stunt, I would hope Trump hangs him on the street. Its not abuse of power to kill a traitor, at least it shouldn't be.

Guaido was elected head of the National Assembly and Maduro declared that the National Assembly suddenly had no powers. Imagine if Clinton was president and dismissed all of the House and Senate. Say Rand Paul was speaker of the House and next in line for the President (In Venezuela the Head of the Assembly takes over when the President is unable to serve) when that happened. Would you execute Rand Paul?

By their Constitution, the new President is supposed to be sworn in by the Assembly before he takes over and he did not. Therefore, the opposition is declaring that constitutionally, he is not the legitimate leader and by that Constitution, the head of the Assembly (Guaido) takes over.

There is a war(undeclared one) between the US and Venezuela. The actions Maduro took are defensive ones and according to their constitution legal, I am going to sit here and condem them for fighting back.

So a President Clinton could justify such actions and you would support them.

Dictators can always justify their actions. An important step is to get rid of any political opposition.

It won't take very long to get them home but it won't be overnight either but Iraq says they can't stay and they are coming home just like Trump said.
