Correction: An earlier version of this report incorrectly stated that Paul had questioned whether the benefits of vaccinations outweigh the risks. The article has been corrected.
Probably the version that went to print..

Why would anybody hold this against Rand? Did you read the headline incorrectly?

So, conversely, you believe the government should force people to be vaccinated? And you believe this to be the pro-liberty position?

But he added that he supports “persuasion” rather than government-mandated vaccines.“It is wrong to say that there are no risks to vaccines. Even the government admits that children
are sometimes injured by vaccines . . . I still don’t favor giving up on liberty for a false sense of security,”
    Paul said.
I like this, I would also like to see him say he is dead against mandated vaccines, sounds like he's
    trying to avoid ruffling feathers.

You have it backwards, he seems to be defending Rand even though he sees this as an anti-liberty position.

You could be right but I didn't see that interpretation when I read it, it is an unclear statement and his reply to Dannno doesn't help:

I am for mandatory vaccination. I think it can be argued both ways. But it is incredibly dishonest to call Rand an anti-vaxxer like so many of the articles I see. It is so disgusting that "journalists" write crap like this. https://www.thedailybeast.com/rand-p...e-of-security/

And it is also disgusting when Rand says vaccines can have side effects and people say he is therefore promoting conspiracy theories about vaccines. He was reading right from the CDC site. This is one of those issues that causes people to melt down and not argue in good faith.

I oppose force mandate anything, especially by this government. Some companies require flu shots, an employee has the option to leave.

Pharmaceutical companies are no different than MIC, where they lobby government for profit. I research the best that I can, time permitting, but I am not a physician or chemical engineer. I have no clue what some of those chemicals do or what the side effects are. Pumping an innocent baby/child with chemicals should be the parents ultimate decision - not government.

It is bad enough that government is directly involved in education, which stinks on its own, and just about every other facet of life. It is amazing folks haven't learned by the romney-obama-care fiasco.

It takes a village... cradle to grave... I am trying to REDUCE government, not grow it.

I weigh and discuss cost/benefits with my own physician, I do not want or need outside help.

The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

This is how the statement is traditionally used:

"Rand just endorsed Mitt Romney. I wouldn't hold it against him, he normally votes for liberty."

I believe Schifference may think that he should have the liberty to strap people to a bed a force an injection needle into their veins so he has the liberty not to get sick. Or he is just $#@!ing around, I don't know.

Your having spelled it out I can see how a person might read it that way. But to be honest I read it the same way as dannno and Swordsmyth read it. That's how I've seen that phasing used in the past, so...
