ISIS Defeated In Syria - So Why Drop White Phosphorus?

The last enclave of ISIS is being defeated in eastern Syria, yet the US reportedly dropped white phosphorus which killed a number of civilians. Are we making it worse?

Not to ruin the party, but how do we know “white phosphorus” was used, and how do we know who used it (if it was used)?

Call me skeptical. My default position is to call this #FakeNEWS until proven otherwise.

Note the terminology of “US-led”. Who is that supposed to be? Everyone that the CIA has helped in the past 20 years?

And what are “local sources”? ISIS? White helmets? Refugees?

The US-led military coalition, which is purportedly fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in Syria, has used white phosphorus munitions in a bombing raid against an area in Syria’s eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr, local media say.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The US-led coalition in Syria strongly denies allegations that it conducted deadly White Phosphorus attacks in the Syrian town of Baghuz, the last holdout of the Daesh* terrorist group in the country, spokesman Col. Sean Ryan told Sputnik on Tuesday:

"Totally false, airstrikes hit two ISIS ammo depots", Col. Sean Ryan, a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve said.

Ryan noted that the SDF "have made considerable efforts" to help civilians leave the battlefield:

"The SDF have consistently displayed that they are pursuing a deliberate, methodical approach to removing the last remaining territory under ISIS influence", he added.

Earlier, Syrian state-run Al-Ikhbariyah TV reported that several civilians, including women and children, were either killed or injured on Monday morning as the US-led coalition allegedly struck farms in Baghuz with shells containing white phosphorus.

I remember how many people I had come across on FB last year, clamouring because Assad had used chemical weapons in Douma, which lead to the deaths of women and children.

I never believed that narrative because it didn't make any sense. Now that the OPCW report has been released, it's only furthered my feeling of Assad's innocence.

Now I hear we, via ally, use White Phosphorus on the last vestiges of ISIS in Syria and it leads to the death of some civilians. Who happen to be women and children.

Now, as one of members have already stated, we don't know all the facts. But, we didn't last April either and still, they rallied for blood. Not now. Not when it could potentially be on our hands.

The hypocrisy of the whole situation blows my mind.

Anyway, this is just my 2 pennies. Sorry for venting.
