Jerry Lewis made good on his annual promise to raise at least "one dollar more" for the fight against muscular dystrophy.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association's 42nd Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon set a record of 63,759,478 dollars in contributions and pledges, which will fund research, services and information for people with any of the neuromuscular diseases under MDA's umbrella.

It is possible 100,000 people would have to give an average of $638 each.

Of course if more donate then the average will drop too.

to me it seems plausible, yet improbable... let's make sure that we're focused on the campaign. can be easy to be side-tracked with illegitimate competitions along the way

I personally believe that the "buzz" and "chatter" that TeaParty07 should generate will be worth more than the final dollar amount.

contributions AND pledges < actual donations. It would be interesting to see how much was actually donated as opposed to pledged.

Aren't those pledges further separated by corporate and public donations? ALso, it isn't a fair comparison since the teaparty is limited to 2300.

They don't have a contribution limit, and we do. We won't come close to that number.
If we break 10 mill, it's a huge success. 15 mill is a Money Blitzkrieg. 20 mill is a revolution.

Plus, we'll use the money more effectively. How many millions has Jerry raised over the decades, with 63 mill last year, and Jerry's kids STILL can't walk. Dr. Paul will crush the FDA and allow alternative therapies into the market, then we can heal those poor children.
