Trump administration launches campaign to end HIV-AIDS in the U.S. by 2030

Feb 6, 2019 WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is launching a campaign to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030, targeting areas where new infections happen and getting highly effective drugs to people at risk.
His move is being greeted with a mix of skepticism and cautious optimism by anti-AIDS activists. State and local health officials are warning the administration not to take money from other programs to finance the initiative, whose budget has not been revealed.

2030 appears to be a popular year. I wonder where that goal came from?
“The right to life is the source of all rights—and the right to property is their only implementation. Without property rights, no other rights are possible. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life. The man who produces while others dispose of his product, is a slave.”

At which point will Americans realize that creating an unaccountable institution that is able to pass its liability on to tax-payers is immoral and attracts sociopaths?

The cure for AIDS probably already exists. They just don't want to reveal it to the public.

Maybe this is why TPDB wanted to start off the coup against him. He wasn't supposed to act like Obama/Bush/Clinton this soon. He is blowing his cover

To be fair, there is no orgainized political "cancer lobby" whereas there are LGBT rights political lobbying groups that have often raised issue of need for war against AIDS.

Biased media won't give him credit for this but Trump with his recent global campaigns has proven to be the strongest POTUS in entire US history who has single handidly free'd GOP from the clutches of GOP's old-fashioned Biblical conservatives base.

Michele Bachmann Believes God Could Destroy The Nation Over Gay Marriage

    Bye, America!

    By Curtis M. Wong

Michele Bachmann is still vehemently opposed to same-sex marriage.

The former Minnesota rep, who once dismissed the fight for marriage equality as “boring,” blasted President Barack Obama’s “dangerous policies,” including those pertaining to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, in an “Understanding the Times with Janet Markell” interview last weekend.

“When we raise our fist to holy God and say that we are going to redefine marriage, we are going to be okay with paying a Planned Parenthood to cut up innocent baby parts and sell them for research, that clearly is a problem,” Bachmann said, according to Right Wing Watch. “As we have seen God render judgment in the days of Noah, in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah and so forth throughout history, what the prophets have told every generation is that there is a just God and the people must repent and turn to him. So, too, in this day of wickedness in our own culture, we need to do the same.”

Trump’s State of the Union pledge: Ending HIV transmissions by 2030

Under the president’s 10-year strategy, health officials would target the U.S. communities with the most HIV infections.

President Donald Trump plans to use Tuesday night’s State of the Union address to promise an end to the HIV epidemic in America, four individuals with knowledge of the planned remarks told POLITICO.
Under Trump’s 10-year strategy, health officials would target the U.S. communities with the most HIV infections and work to reduce transmissions by 2030. The strategy has been championed by top health officials, including HHS Secretary Alex Azar and CDC Director Robert Redfield.

HIV vaccine hopes dashed by trial results

Hopes have been dashed an experimental vaccine could protect people against HIV, the virus that causes Aids.

The National Institutes of Health has stopped its HVTN 702 trial, of more than 5,000 people in South Africa, as it found the jab did not prevent HIV.

Experts expressed "deep disappointment" but added the search for a preventive HIV vaccine must continue.

Such vaccines do not contain HIV and therefore do not pose any danger of giving HIV to an individual.

    What was the vaccine?
The jab was a new version of the first HIV-vaccine candidate shown to provide some protection against the virus - in the RV144 clinical trial, in Thailand.

There are many different strains of HIV and the vaccine had been adapted to the subtype most common in South Africa, which has one of the highest HIV rates in the world.

There were great hopes that the vaccine would work and it could then be adapted to cover other strains of HIV circulating in other parts of the world.

    What happened in the trial?
Volunteers were randomly assigned to receive either the vaccine or placebo injections.

    And preliminary data showed:

129 HIV infections among the vaccine recipients
123 HIV infections among those given the dummy jab
Dr Anthony Fauci, from the NIH, said: "An HIV vaccine is essential to end the global pandemic and we hoped this vaccine candidate would work. Regrettably, it does not."

"Research continues on other approaches to a safe and effective HIV vaccine, which I still believe can be achieved."

Linda-Gail Bekker from the International Aids Society said: "Whilst this is a significant setback for the field, we need to continue the quest for a preventive vaccine."

There is still hope other HIV vaccines in development may work.

    How can HIV be stopped?
A drug treatment called pre-exposure prophylaxis (Prep) is effective at preventing HIV infection but, unlike a vaccine, it needs to be taken regularly, even daily.

In countries where such treatments may not be available, the only effective prevention remains using condoms during sexual intercourse - or abstinence.

Recent breakthroughs in anti-retroviral treatments have improved the lifespan of people with HIV.

Debbie Laycock, Head of Policy at Terrence Higgins Trust said: "Through regular testing, condoms, Prep and effective treatment which means people living with HIV can't pass on the virus - we now have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to end the HIV epidemic. It's vital we seize this."
