    Elwood: Oh no!

Jake: What the $#@! was that?

Elwood: The motor. We threw a rod.

    Jake: Is that serious?

    Elwood: Yep.

Use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers, has been approved.

Elwood: It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
    Jake: Hit it.

I wonder if Aykroyd would have stayed funny longer if Belushi hadn't died when he did.

Its a great movie, no doubt, but The Big Lebowski was better.

How come none of our resident Illinois Nazis have popped in to badmouth the Blues Brothers yet?

The world would be a worse place without Lebowski, and Officespace, no doubt. However, I will disagree that Lebowski was better than The Blues Brothers.

I've probably seen The Blues Brothers more than any movie ever made, and it still never gets old. Not to mention, it was filmed locally, so its very nostalgic for me.

I dunno...maybe because this is just a thread to goof around with, that everybody can find funny and enjoyable, and not one to drag the endless head butting and scratchy nagging of forum drama into.

In fact, why not make yourself superfluous and go find them...another participant is always needed.

I had read somewhere that they let Akroyd drive that scene where he hits 120 mph under the "El".

Jake: How much for the little girl?

    Stiff: Pardon?

Jake: The women, how much for the women?

    Stiff: What?

Jake: The little girl, your daughters...sell them to me.

Let's talk about another Akroyd movie that is one of the best ever.

At 1:20 - That's whiting they are laying out for display at the fish market.

There's a good chance I caught and trucked over some of those very same fish in that scene.

That's my favorite Eddie Murphy film. (And Jamie Lee Curtis ... ...)

And then there's that other all-time classic with Akroyd ...

Aretha: We got two Honkies out there dressed like Hasidic diamond merchants.

    Matt "Guitar" Murphy: Say what?

Aretha: They look like they from the CIA or something.

Matt "Guitar" Murphy: What they wanna eat?

Aretha: The tall one wants white bread...toasted...dry with nothing on it.

    Matt "Guitar" Murphy: Elwood!

Aretha: And the other one wants four whole fried chickens and a coke.

Matt "Guitar" Murphy: And Jake! $#@!! The Blues Brothers!
