    Polacks

Growing up polish folk were the brunt of many jokes and to a man they took it well...

Everybody was happy being who they were and poked fun at folks who were different, it was good natured and expected.

Today, what with all these $#@!ed-up identities, poking fun at different people makes one a monster, intolerant, racist, and outright abhorrent.

To all the lilylivered 'special' folks out there who want respect due to their heritage, skin color or religion you can kiss my old hillbilly ass!

    Rant off.

A few things Mr A told me about Pollacks...

    1. They actually tend to have fairly high IQs.
    2. Dumb Pollack jokes are the result of Nazi propaganda.

I was teasing him about being a Pollack because his father is from Pomerania Germany.

Why do Polish names end in "ski”?

    Because they can't spell tobbagan.

I think that the Poles are great people.

They seem to have a great deal of trouble with maintaining lighting components, however.

    My gramma was polish.

Q: Did you hear about the Polak who thought his wife was trying to kill him?
A: On her dressing table he found a bottle of "Polish Remover".

Q: How do you sink a polish battleship?
    A: Put it in water.

Q: Why did the polack put ice in his condom?
A: To keep the swelling down.

Q: What happened to the Polish hockey team?
A: They all drowned in spring training.

Q: Why don't polish women use vibrators?
    A: It chips their teeth.

Before we went to Buffalo for my husband's 30th HS reunion Mr A pulled out his old yearbook and had a blast listening to me trying to pronounce the names. He grew up in a Polish/Italian neighborhood and joked that he was the only kid in his school whose name ended in a consonant.

'We' were stronger, smarter and less insecure then.

Yes! Growing up we were all; pollacks, hunkies, guineas, spics etc. and we all made fun of each other - our friends, co-workers, spouses - and we mostly laughed at the joke itself, or rolled our eyes, but no one wasted time obsessing over it.

Ethnic jokes, imitating accents - these were not uncommon at all, even on television. In fact, regular people and celebrities embraced their joked-about ethnicities. Quite a few TV shows focused on it, like Kojak (Greek cop or detective?), Banaceck (Polish detective or something), Columbo (Italian cop), Chico & the Man (young Mexican mechanic w/old white guy), Sanford & Son (many of Red Fox's lines would not be permitted today). (Note: Personally I didn't particularly like any of these shows, except maybe Columbo. Hated Kojak! Sometimes watch Sanford and Son now.)

At some point in the 70's, however, I really got sick of polish jokes - never told them myself - and it's not because I'm Polish - I'm not - but yeah, the "dumb pollack" thing was really, really overdone and got to seem just dumb.

Of course, the same terms could also be used to offend somebody in a hostile situation, but we were typically intelligent and secure enough to realize how meaningless it was, so didn't let it get to us. As insults go, these terms aren't any more offensive than the millions of non-ethnic insults that might be hurled at you during an argument or fight.

Todays crybaby/victims are emotionally disturbed children who want to nurture every perceived pain or slight and carry it for eternity. This habit can only diminish the quality of their lives. It's absolutely psychotic!

Kojak!?! Oh C'mon...I loved Kojak! Telly Savalas was sexy. "Who loves ya, baby?"

Back in Texas, they replaced Pollack jokes with Aggies.

It may very well end up that the Poles, Hungarians and Italians end up saving white, western civilization.

Good luck with that list. All those countries are in league with the axis destabilizing regions and causing the migration crisis. You are naive if that is your list and it doesn't even include Russia.

I'm 25% Polish. Never heard people say any Polish jokes around me. Then again how could they when people never asked me what nationalities I am.

I dunno why you would not include one of the few traditionalist, nationalist, non imperialist country left in Europe. If anything, they actively fight against activities that lead to more immigrants to Europe. Poland and Hungary on the other hand work hand in hand with NATO and EU to destabilize the ME while at the same time asking for stronger EU borders. Talk about furiously fighting the symptoms while contributing to the disease.

They just finished hosting the pro Iran war conference in Poland and I bet they will ask for better border controls when the immigrants from that war start streaming in
