Ginsburg Misses Day Two at SCOTUS

    https://thehill.com/regulation/court...-supreme-court

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was absent from the Supreme Court bench for the second day in a row on Tuesday.

Chief Justice John Roberts noted Ginsburg’s absence when the justices took their seats for the second time in the new year.

Repeating what he said Monday, Roberts said Ginsburg is “unable to be present” for the court’s sitting, but will participate in the decisions using transcripts of the arguments and court briefs.
He is the Chief Justice - he should force her to recuse herself on cases she didn't actually hear. What a crock.

I wonder which establishment dirtbag Trump is going to line up for her seat? Nap would be a good choice.

No he would not, he has turned swamp and even if you disagree he is too old.

Mike Lee, his brother or Barrett would be much better.

Yes, I disagree on Mike Lee being better than Nap. You might have a point on the age, but look at RBG. I may be overly pessimistic, but I'll be surprised if scotus is around in 20 years.

I recall the good Judge being given some time off (seriously risking his career at fox) as Judicial correspondent, for talking deep state/wire taping on the Trump campaign - the media dismissed it as conspiracy bullsh!t. The guy still stood by Trump, and continued to advise Trump - crazy, I know.

Dont get me wrong, I'm fine with being critical of Nap - even I disagree with him on his constitutional interpretation in favor of anchor babies, and probably a hand full of other constitutional interpretations. I'm also disgusted by how nice he could be to that a$$fk Charlie Rangel... But Nap is easily the last person I would call "judge swamp".

Curious: while you were looking up Nap's history, did you take a look at Trump's? What kind of friend has Trump been to liberty? What are his net contributions to freedom - or the clintons for that matter? Just curious, as I see Nap, with every blemish, as being constitutional divinity when compared to trump. How is it that trump is excused, and ol Nap to be hung by his ballz as "judge swamp"? Just how does that work?

The judge has taken quite a few positions repugnant to the Constitution and the law beyond the ones you mentioned.

I never trusted Trump and I still don't completely but he has exceeded my expectations and improved while Napolitano has failed my expectations and is decaying.

Trump is the least of all possible goods and I would replace him with someone better given the opportunity but he has actual power and is doing better with it than any other president in living memory, Judge Nap has no power and he is already proving that he can't be trusted with it and would sell out to the worst faction around.

If Swordsmyth had been around the last 10 years and following him this whole time like you and I have, he would have been a huge fan of Nap at least all the way going into the Trump Presidency. I remember Nap sticking up for Trump quite a bit on msm back in the day. But ever since he started meeting with Trump and giving him advice on the Supreme Court, which Trump utilized with the Gorsuch pick, Nap went back on the news and started taking the opposing side to Trump - almost every time.. the only reason I can think of that he is doing this is because Trump may appoint him some day to something, possibly the Supreme Court, and he can use all of this to show that he is neutral on Russia, the investigation and Trump as a whole. If Nap was out defending Trump constantly, he would have a much more difficult time being confirmed.

So I see it all as positive.

I'm sure I would have been a fan before, from what I've seen of his older work my only objection would have been that he is an AnCap and I think that would be too little government and would result in tyranny when it failed.

What worries me more than his Trump positions is his position on things like the Christian baker case where he said allowing businesses to choose who they would serve was "Dangerous".

As always I will believe your theory when Trump appoints him to something, AG would have been a good choice when Sessions left but Trump still didn't pick him.

TMZ has a video of her being helped from her apartment to a car yesterday, which was day 3.

I wonder if the real reason she has not resigned is that she wanted to be on record as the oldest justice or something.

Petition: Appoint Mike Lee as next Supreme Court Justice

The White House has been reaching out to political allies and conservative activist groups to discuss preparations for an ailing Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's possible death or departure from the bench, according to Politico.

Ginsburg has been absent from Supreme Court arguments this week following the removal of two malignant cancerous growths from her left lung on Dec. 21.
The outreach began after Ginsburg, 85, on Monday missed oral arguments at the court for the first time in her 25 years on the bench. The justice, who was nominated to the court by President Bill Clinton in 1993, announced in late December that she underwent a surgical procedure to remove two cancerous growths from her lungs. -Politico
According to a source familiar with the discussions, the White House "is taking the temperature on possible short-list candidates, reaching out to key stakeholders, and just making sure that people are informed on the process. They're doing it very quietly, of course, because the idea is not to be opportunistic, but just to be prepared so we aren't caught flat-footed."

Riiiight. Andrew Napolitano has been in this movement - and let's face it, you're not in THIS movement - for literally decades, and did more to promote Ron Paul's candidacies than anyone else that occupied a spot on an MSM outlet, but you disagree with him on a couple of items related to his take regarding - wait for it - Donald Trump (I just can't believe it), and suddenly he's Judge Swamp?

I'm not complaining, just noting the irony.

And seriously, is it really an insult to point out that you swing from Trump's nuts? I mean, seriously!? You start like a dozen threads a day about the guy... and most of them are from a positive point-of-view. You don't REALLY consider him the "least of all evils", or whatever bull$#@! line you trot out when someone calls you on your pathetic dangling. I can recognize someone who considers him the least of evils when I see it - that would be more like someone like AF, who also has a very well established record here. You showed up in the middle of your boy's campaign, and ever since, you've been here to recruit and/or portray RP/the liberty movement/libertarians as Trumpists, and if I had my guess, you're being paid for it - at least you should be, considering the amount of time you spend on it.

My position is very close to AF's and my early posts were almost all ant-Trump until he started exceeding my expectations and I am often the first or only source of posts about bad things he does.

I'd go dig that up, but who has time to look through 30K posts (in under 3 years)?

ETA: Your position vis-a-vis AF's? Yeah, when I see AF starting a dozen or so pro- or defend-Trump threads a day, I guess you'd be accurate. Until then, I see him begrudgingly acknowledging Trump. That's not you. That's NOWHERE NEAR you.

But you just keep on being a crude jackass, that aught to sway everyone to side with you.
Well I certainly can't compete with you... not when you're being paid per post.

And your activism here is FAR MORE crude than pointing it out with some off-color comments. Grow a set.
