    Trump's latest unhinged press conference

Did anyone have a chance to see him where he talked about eminent domain and how he'd use some sort of military/emergency workaround to seize people's land on the border to build his stupid wall in order to even circumvent one's right to take it to court? I would've hoped that people would've been outraged here, but as I see, the usual crickets.

    I feel like it's R.I.P. Liberty 1776-2016

If a community like this can so quickly lose its ideals, how can a desire for liberty ever grow beyond?

People living so close to the border are probably borderline Mexican anyway

There have been a few posts about eminent domain. Although as you've seen Trump has caused a schism in these forums so it won't cause as much of a concern as it should.

The usage of HBO's Game of Thrones imagery for a poster on the cabinet table was also rather unsettling. His team obviously doesn't watch the show, and we know Trump doesn't read, the 700 foot wall in the show didn't stop people from getting through. In fact people climbed it, went around it, and even destroyed it. But it's a show that includes a lot of incest and as Trump has said if Ivanka wasn't his daughter he'd date her...

Well yeah but you see we've got to have more government before we can have less government.

No no, simple losertarian, it's just like building a fence around your own yard...

The people collectively own all the land in the country, so this isn't really theft...

...and we need it to keep out the communists, you see, because they'll try to collectivize all the land.

You can have collective territorial control of the border or you can have collective control of your home and every other square inch of land in the country, there are no other options until you convert the rest of the world to libertarianism, get back with me when the entire rest of the world is more libertarian than the US.

Your way busts up 3 million residents and businesses that are near or on that border.

Your way takes that land from rightful owners and hands it to the Fed on a silver platter.

Other folks here or around the world do not need to be “libertarianized”, it is their own property, you or other “gofundme’s” have no right to decide for them.

Did I say anything about the wall?

I keep telling everyone I don't support the wall but you don't seem to be able to remember that.

SwordShill, stop playing childish word games. You have in no way, shape or form firmly stated or supported their right to property rights. You gleem with government intervention and solutions.

Give the owners the choice. Either they can deter aliens that would pass through their property and enter onto others or they can ask the government to. Property rights do not include aiding and abetting criminals.

You don't need open borders. Nor do you need a wall. Nor do you need a massive government border patrol force violating liberties.

All you need is liberty and the problem goes away on its own. It's a government-created problem - government-created "solutions" will just make things worse. Stop the drug war, and stop the welfare state and immigration won't bother anyone. But no... liberty is too hard. So instead of freedom and peace, you need moar government to ensure your freedom and peace. Just a childish way of approaching things.

If a community like this can so quickly lose its ideals, how can a desire for liberty ever grow beyond?

The desire for security is greater than the desire for liberty. That fact has been made very clear over the last 10 years. The difference is what each group sees as security.

I am a libertarian. I am advocating everyone enjoy maximum freedom on both personal and economic issues as long as they do not bring violence unto others.

I believe if you'd go back in time, you'd see his consistent outrage in those cases as well. In fact, the only thing that has really change is now you have the RIGHT silent, if not cheering on the outrage.

The wall separated Westeros from the wildings and the the white walkers relatively for 8000 years. Considering the mass human capital necessary to prevent such an incursion along such a vast distance, the Great Wall was a resounding success. Only the blue fire of the undead wyrm reduced it to nothing.

And when the pendulum swings back in the other direction as it always does, the precedents the right is allowing to be set now (and in most cases are heartily cheering along) WILL be used against them to produce exactly the outcomes that they are, in their unwarranted fearfulness, attempting to prevent. They're quite literally setting the stage for their own demise.

Yeah, you're right. I am probably guilty of that. But I am so tired of seeing the Democrats bulldoze their agenda through (remember, Obamacare didn't have enough votes because Kennedy died.) that I do admit to taking pleasure in seeing someone not afraid of them.
