Ocasio-Cortez Full 60 Minutes Interview, in Context

I'm for a Green New Deal too. It's amazing how Americans keep getting talked out of voting for their own interests. What wrong with jobs that clean up the environment? Capitalism sure isn't doing it on its own.

You're smoking crack to post that garbage here.

And truth be told I'd have to be smoking crack, too to sit through a full hour of that communist pos.

And James Madison would be rolling over in his grave to see this unconstitutional mockery of so called constitutional representation.

Are you trolling? Nobody here believes in corporate welfare or the military industrial complex..

Second of all, environmentalists don't give a crap about the environment. If they did, they would be worried about toxic pollutants as opposed to CO2.

Since when did this site get taken over by a bunch of Neocons? Ike was the first to warn us of the military industrial complex. Who do you think pushes these wars in the Middle East, in league with AIPAC? As for CO2 nevermind the science is obviously above you.

Huh?? Of course everybody here knows about the military industrial complex, we know it exists, but we don't believe in corporate welfare or that the MIC should run the government like they do.

Anybody who has been here since 2007 has seen that clip a million times, you aren't educating anybody.. you're just trying to be a commie.

It's only about a six minute segment. She makes some interesting points, that's all. Of course everyone here is so focused in wiping out social security and medicare they wouldn't be interested.

The middle class has disappeared in America because the one percent has been sucking it dry. They are the ones who declared class war now Cortez is just declaring it back.

I have to applaud Anderson Cooper for holding her to the fire. At first I thought this was going to be a propaganda piece with all kinds of fluff promoting the liberal with a bunch of softball questions and no follow ups to baseless answers. I am so glad I was wrong.

The reason you should watch her interviewed is ALL enemies need to be rebutted with impunity and the only way you do that is to know what they are saying.

The middle class has disappeared because GOVERNMENT has been sucking them dry - AND - because corporations have been using government power to suck them dry.

The obvious answer is to limit and reduce government power..

If you give the government more power, then the corporations will just lobby government and wahlah - the corporations will have more power!!

Cortez doesn't realize she is just a tool for the big corporations... don't you be one too. Big corporations love big government because they pay government to keep their gravy train rolling.

    Quoted for truth.

It always amazes me how liberals recognize that corporate lobbyists own our government... and then they argue for more government as a method to stop the corporate lobbyists. I think the word for it is dense.

The middle class has disappeared because good manufacturing jobs have been shipped to slave camp countries like China, where people have no rights except the right to get machine-gunned at a protest. These are the kinds of jobs many people can do with dignity and be a part of the modest middle class. But vulture capitalists like Mitt Romney made their millions figuring out how to dismantle the factories and ship them abroad. Trump's trade war with China is the best thing he ever did, besides pulling out of Syria. The Chinese have been eating our lunch for way too long. I'm for it even it I see some of my portfolio losing money because of it. In the long run Americans and the free world wins.

If those factories that were "shipped" to China were still making goods here in the US, you wouldn't be able to afford them. That is THE reason those jobs are gone; the US government has so thoroughly debased the currency that it is almost impossible to manufacture goods here.

And while that has lead to a very beneficial increase in the standard of living, much of that increase is built on money borrowed - at interest - from the future.

All this protectionism from the Trumpist lot will end in a ton of misery at the end of the day, if the issue of the currency is not addressed first... actually, a ton of misery is assured, because there is no way to fix the currency issue without it at this point.

That's good, let's not turn our country into a communist hellhole with the "Green New Deal".

Just keep defending accepting stolen goods and profiting off slave labor while collaborating with economic warfare against America by a communist country.

I'm sure the millions of people being reduced to serfs will rush to join you.
