The Social Media Revolution

Greetings everybody.

The 2016 elections and the regulation aftermath, the explosive revelations against Google, Facebook, Twitter and other social media giants of individual privacy violations, the censorship and expulsion of reputable individuals and sources on these platforms, the corporatist-government alliance between Silicon Valley, Washington DC and other repressive regimes. All of these things are part of a worrying trend which is unfolding into an internet nightmare.

Thankfully, there is hope. In spite of all these problems, a response is rising. There is a trilogy of articles which seeks to put that response into perspective and alert true lovers of liberty as to what OUR response should be, as individuals, to what is unfolding before us.

On this thread, I will be publishing sections of, and links to this trilogy of articles. Please spread the word. People are often confronted by the question: "What can I do? What can we do?" This trilogy answers that question. People need to know about what they can do, because once the people are empowered with the knowledge of what they can do, the elites cannot keep things under control.

The Suicide of the Social Media Monopoly

An internet hurricane is unfolding. Since 2016, the world of social media has been undergoing drastic changes. This is thanks to political events, government crackdowns, and intensifying personal biases. Google, Facebook, Twitter, and many other well-known social media companies have become drunk on their power. They are now seeking, with the government’s encouragement, to expand their power. They will be able to watch and influence everyone, becoming the final arbiters of what is true, respectful, and permissible. And they do have the ability to do this. After all, their respective platforms are the de-facto places to go when establishing a social media presence.

This disturbing news is a repeat performance of a historical trend. These actions are symptoms of when governments turn tyrannical and large businesses become monopolies. This should horrify anyone who believes in true freedom of speech and expression as well as privacy rights. The actions of monopolies are terrifying, and not only for their effects in violating online freedom rights. It could have disastrous effects on online freedom over the next few years as threats to regulate online social media platforms may move from fantasy to reality.

One thing I fear is that the most successful platforms are typically the most addictive. Those very addictions are created by people with no morals, thus, they will have no problem censoring anyone on their platform, or operating like a monopoly.

And what is this about Soros planning a hostile takeover of Fedbook? Not that I have any love of Fedbook to begin with...
