Exclamation Ruth Bader Ginsburg hospitalized after fall breaks three ribs

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospitalized After Fracturing Three Ribs

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...ng-three-ribs/

    8 Nov 2018

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 85, was rushed to a hospital after fracturing three ribs in a fall at the court.

“Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fell in her office at the Court last evening. She went home, but after experiencing discomfort overnight, went to George Washington University Hospital earlier this morning,” a statement via from the Supreme Court reads. “Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on her left side and she was admitted for observation and treatment.”

The justice’s health has long been a matter of concern. In 2014, Ginsburg had a stent placed in her right coronary artery and has survived cancer multiple times. Ginsburg in 2012 fractured two ribs in a fall and remained mum about the incident for several months. She also was hospitalized after a bad reaction to medicine in 2009.

Appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1993, Ginsburg rebuffed suggestions from some liberals that she should step down in the first two years of President Barack Obama’s second term, when Democrats also controlled the Senate and would have been likely to confirm her successor.

She already has hired clerks for the term that extends into 2020, indicating she has no plans to retire.

Ginsburg leads the court’s liberal wing.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

    Where was Hillary?

Well, at least it wasn't her hip. I hope her recovery goes well. I also hope visions of retirement are dancing in her head.

Poor thing that is certainly a painful injury. I wish her well.

Good point. This sloppiness isn't really her style. Where was Bill?

Wait, you mean committed suicide by shooting herself eight times in the back of the head while being stuffed inside a car trunk?

Those Clintons sure are inspirational. No one in history has been moved to commit suicide in such creative and downright acrobatic ways as their enemies.

    Except, maybe, their friends.

Ok, I know it's a joke, but where's the logic? Why would Hillary want another conservative in the Supreme Court?

If someone were to cross Clinton, I sincerely doubt she'd let a little thing like partisanship stop her from sending in the dogs.

Does she not have more Democratic than Republican victims to date?

Krissanne Hall for replacement! Either that or as the new AG. I'm willing to compromise on one or the other.

Ya, probably, but she also essentially said that the Kavanaugh circus the Dems created was deplorable.

You know, I don't think I'm in a hurry to have her gone. As nice as it is to have more conservatives on the Supreme Court, I think it's good to still have some balance. Remember all the attacks in the Constitution that came during Bush's presidency. Right now we have all the leftist craziness (but not from RBG). But there may come a time we wouldn't want all of one party (either party) on the Supreme Court.

Ok. and before someone points out that it's unlikely we would ever have all of one party, don't take it too literally. If we had only one or two of one party (or maybe even 3), it would be almost like having all of one party.

The nature of the fall — in her office, not on a slippery sidewalk — raises questions as to her ongoing stability health-wise. Falls such as these are often a precursor to more serious health concerns in older adults. Justice Ginsburg may not be able to serve those five more years she spoke of in July.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was not on the bench Tuesday for a session, after sustaining a fall last week and fracturing three ribs.
The high court met for a non-argument session Tuesday morning, less than one week after the 85-year-old justice fell in her Supreme Court office.
“Justice Ginsburg will not be on the Bench this morning for the non-argument session,” the Court said in a statement Tuesday. “She continues to improve and is working from home this morning.”
The court did not hear arguments on Tuesday, but took the bench for other routine business.
Ginsburg, the court’s oldest justice, was admitted to George Washington University Hospital last Thursday “for observation and treatment” following the fall.
Ginsburg has dealt with a series of health concerns in recent years, but has yet to miss a single day of oral arguments in her tenure on the highest court in the land, according to The Washington Post.
Ginsburg broke two ribs in 2012, and previously battled two bouts of cancer. She also had a stent implanted in her heart to open a blocked artery in 2014.

    Who was missing?

[sic] The eight justices (the case was argued before Brett Kavanaugh joined the court) rejected both the government’s justification for its designation, and the government’s argument that its action should have received judicial deference, not judicial review.
