Democrats just flipped the House and now they plan to cause trouble

While there are issues with MAGA's policies relating to deficit spending, double-speak, ties to torturing dictators, private meetings with globalist funders, nepotism etc, but is this the proper winning attitude of House victors towards a sitting POTUS given divisions within the fabrics of society?

Democrats just flipped the House of Representatives — here's how they plan to make Trump’s life a living hell

    • Democrats on Tuesday flipped the House of Representatives in a major rebuke of Donald Trump's presidency.
    • Now that they control the House, Democratsplan to launch an investigative blitz against the White House and Russian interests.
    • They also plan to focus significant resources on examining the administration's healthcare and economic agenda.

Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives on Tuesday night in the 2018 midterm elections in a major rebuke of Donald Trump's presidency.
The win sparked renewed speculation about whether the party will move to impeach Trump.
But few Democrats want to actively talk about impeaching Trump, whether it's on Capitol Hill or on the campaign trail. For many, the issue is a nuisance and a distraction from more serious matters. Senior leadership has also repeatedly cautioned against impeachment, warning that it would only deepen partisan squabbling in Congress.
Instead of impeachment, Democrats plan to tighten the screws by mounting an investigative blitz against the White House

Duckies... ole DJT is almost as corrupt as the divvvil and after a while, he is as boring as sin.
He is not one of the metaphoric innocent lambs of this life. When digging for dirt, much will
be uncovered. His cultists will not believe the hard evidence, anyway, but the big looming
spectacle we are about to be hit by is not meant for the active partisans, instead it's all the
couch potatos out there in TV land who don't follow current events. Both camps want recruits.

I called it a few months back, but I did recently backpeddle. I said Donald Trump would be impeached.

Do we know what charges are they going to bring against him?

Impeachment is unlikely IMO, more likely a parade of "investigations" and subpoenas... unless MAGA's son-in-law Kushner reached out to his business partner George Soros and brokered a behind the scene deal between two teams so they can carry on in some sort of mutually beneficial harmony.

But Mueller is a wild card still, his findings could change things. But unless Senate is on board also, full impaechment will not happen (as happened in case of Bill Clinton's impeachment, convicted by House but acquitted by Senate). Also Senate is lobbyists' country.

Robert Mueller has yet to deliver his final report. I'm assuming everything attempted or even thought of
in terms of the impeachment process over the past 150 plus years will be flung at DJT. Give them a few
few weeks, the list is long. It may bear a resemblance to the structural framework Thaddeus Stevens hit
ole Andy Johnson with. Expect ALL of Trump's business dealings to be out there for the public to gape at.
His empire is bigger than the one the Clintons were building up, that had triggered the Whitewater Inquiry.

This will be good for Trump in the long run, most likely. If the GOP kept the House, the masses would eventually run into Republican fatigue. There was a big GOP surge in 1996 and 2010, but Clinton and Obama ended up getting a second term, respectively. That may very well happen again.

Unlike starr, Mueller's report will be given to the DOJ. The white house may censor away at the report before turning it over to congress, if they even do that.

I think Trump's tax forms are going to be the first thing to come out, revealing he's worth far less than the "10 BILLION DOLLARS" he has constantly claimed and will be the biggest hit to his ego. But his supporters will say "Well duh, you never tell the government what you're actually worth" so won't cause that big of an issue.

The democrats targeted purple districts in blue states and then piled money into the races. That's where a large share of their gains were made.

OpenSecrets reveals that Democrat spending was most dominant in 435 U.S. House of Representative contests where Democratic hopefuls raised over $951 million, versus just $637 million for Republican contenders.

Pretty much. VA 2 and VA 7 comes to mind. But there was no way that the GOPe was going to spend money on Bratt. They wanted him to lose.

Back to that silly-assed code? You do realize you're talking about the entire national Republican Party except for two senators and about the same number of representatives, right?

98% of the population either has no idea what that means, or assumes you're racist just because you use it and we're racist unless we diligently call you on it. Hardly seems worth the trouble for four guys. Why not just call the GOP the GOP?

Oh, wait. You still think GOPe excludes Trump, don't you? So you want to virtue signal your enduring naivete, is that it?

    https://mailchi.mp/tomwoods/civil-war?e=fc95d80121

OK, I admit I'm checking the election results as I answer email on the couch.

So the Republicans will hold on to the Senate and the Democrats will take the House.

I think a lot of people voted Republican today, despite being told by virtually everyone that only a moral reprobate and a mental defective would do so, not because they sat down and studied policy papers, or even because they're particularly enthusiastic about the candidates.

They voted straight Republican as a middle finger to the progressives who dominate the media, academia, and culture.

They look at the Democrats as the champions of those who shout down speakers and otherwise intimidate people into silence on college campuses, who ignorantly and self-righteously blame white men for every evil under the sun, who have encouraged the transformation of America into battleground of squabbling tribes, and who accuse normal people of "hate" for not jumping on every leftist bandwagon within the first ten seconds.

Republicans, so often craven and unprincipled, are unworthy recipients of these people's votes, but recipients they surely are.

On policy, though, even in the age of Trump, the parties are not as far apart as they first appear, as Jeff Deist noted today:

By any objective measure, the ideological and policy disagreements between the national Democrat and Republican parties are not significant. Both accept the central tenets of domestic and foreign interventionism, both accept the federal government as the chief organizing principle for American society, and both view politics simply as a fight for control of state apparatus.

Similarly, differences between policies actually enacted by Mr. Trump and the existing Congress and those likely to have been enacted by Mrs. Clinton and the same Congress are fairly small. While Mr. Trump alarms the Left with his tone and tenor, his actual views on taxes, spending, debt, trade, guns, immigration (the "Muslim ban" was neither) and war (unfortunately his good campaign rhetoric is largely abandoned) plainly comport with the general thrust of Clinton's neo-liberalism.

Today's ugly midterm elections are about style rather than substance, party rather than principle, and power rather than ideas. Americans do not much argue about whether we are governed by DC, and only slightly over how we are governed by DC. But we argue viciously about who governs us from DC.

The sensible and humane way out of this is to decentralize, let people make their own decisions, and call off the low-intensity civil war.

This is the one solution that will not be considered.

If the democrats can gain ground with the economic/monetary bubble still inflating, what's going to happen when the bubble finally pops?

Subpoenas and bull$#@! for the next two years. Trump will continue to do everything he has promised through executive order. Nothing in his agenda, excepting the wall, requires the House as far as I can tell.

With investigations and no chance of Donald Trump being removed from office, people will see that as a waste of time.
