    RIP John Gatto

I just learned that the great John Gatto passed away on Oct 25th.

I was lucky enough to meet him several times as a kid and he was a total inspiration to me and all those that were with me.

He was one of the greatest influences on real education and helping people understand what the public schools had done to them and were now doing to their children.

Rest in Peace, my friend- may you never be forgotten.

"Government ... does not exist of necessity, but rather by virtue of a tragic, almost comical combination of klutzy, opportunistic terrorism against sitting ducks whom it pretends to shelter, plus our childish phobia of responsibility, praying to be exempted from the hard reality of life on life's terms." Thanks for letting us know. What a loss.

I'd only recently learned of him, but his influence on education and homeschooling cannot be understated.
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

I've only recently learned about John Gatto in my research for a short film I'm making on bias in education.

Very sad to see that he passed recently, he seemed like truly an original and inspired thinker. I'm looking forward to reading his books for my research.
