Mega-donor Adelson, with access and influence, scores two pro- Israel victories
These are heady days for casino billionaire and megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
A passionate and hawkish advocate for Israel with close ties to its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Adelson was in Jerusalem today for a celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation to that city, a longstanding priority for the mogul. Similarly, Adelson had pushed hard for President Donald Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, which happened last week.
And the day after that announcement, Adelson quietly slipped into the White House for a private meeting with Trump and three top administration officials: Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and an Adelson favorite, National Security Adviser John Bolton, according to two conservative sources familiar with the previously unreported private event.

Adelson: US should drop atomic bomb on Iran

American-Jewish billionaire blasts Obama over negotiations with Tehran; says US should show Iran nuclear capabilities.

NEW YORK – During a panel at Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening, Sheldon Adelson, noted businessman and owner of the newspaper Israel Hayom, suggested that the US should use nuclear weapons on Iran to impose its demands from a position of strength.

Asked by moderator Rabbi Shmuley Boteach whether the US should negotiate with Iran if it were to cease its uranium enrichment program, Adelson retorted, “What are we going to negotiate about?”

Adelson then imagined what might happen if an American official were to call up an Iranian official, say “watch this,” and subsequently drop a nuclear bomb in the middle of the Iranian desert.

"Then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran. So, we mean business. You want to be wiped out? Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development. You want to be peaceful? Just reverse it all, and we will guarantee you that you can have a nuclear power plant for electricity purposes, energy purposes’," Adelson said.

“So a tremendous demonstration of American strength?” Boteach clarified. “So that they would get the message?”

“It’s the only thing they understand,” Adelson said.

The problem with money in politics is not who is buying the influence, but who has something to sell. The only way to stop it is to take the power away from politicians. Then, the money would dry up.

That's seems like catch 22, how can power be taken away from politicians without taking power away from voters.

Simple, straightforward, logical common sense. And as usual it will be completely ignored by those who need to recognize it the most.

MAGA's largest donor is facing some criticism after recent PA shooting:

Jewish Casino Billionaire Is Major Trump Donor; Stop Enabling Bigots, Sheldon Adelson

Donald Trump is still demonizing billionaire George Soros and other “globalists,” just as he did in a 2016 campaign commercial with anti-Semitic dog-whistles, or at least something very close.

But Trump is picky about which Jewish billionaires to smear, and for good reason.

None other than Sheldon Adelson, the Jewish casino billionaire, helped finance our demagogic President’s rise to power. In this election cycle, he is the number one donor to the Republican Party in its Trumpist incarnation. Adelson has splurged at least $55 million on the sullied GOP through two groups.

Trump Has Made Enriching Sheldon Adelson a Top Goal of U.S.-Japan Relations

    By Eric Levitz @EricLevitz

Government of the Adelsons, for the Adelsons, by the Adelsons. Photo: Steve Mack/Getty Images

Early in his primary campaign, Donald Trump gave Americans a bracing account of how politics worked in their country. Asked to justify his past donations to Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, Trump explained, “I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And you know what? When I need something from them, two years later, three years later, I call them. They are there for me. And that’s a broken system.”

What Americans needed, then, was a politician who was simply too rich to be bought — a man who could self-fund his campaign, and thus, owe nothing to anyone after Election Day save for ordinary voters. When Trump wasn’t calling for a Muslim ban, touting the size of his wall, or encouraging his supporters to beat protesters, this was the product he sold to the GOP base: the dream of a president that big money couldn’t touch.
Of course, like so many other Trump products, this dream was a sham. The mogul had always funded his big endeavors with other people’s money, and his political venture was no different. He had no genuine beef with the “broken system” of influence peddling — he merely wanted to transition to its “sell side.” So, his campaign accepted $25 million from casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. And when Sheldon called after Inauguration Day, Trump was there for him.
Specifically, the president agreed to make “increasing the global market-share of Sheldon Adelson’s gambling empire” a top-tier priority of American foreign policy toward Japan.

For years before Trump’s election, casino magnates had been eyeing that nation with unrequited lust: Thanks to its stringent anti-casino laws, Japan was one of the last untapped markets for exploiting gambling addicts on planet Earth. One month after Trump painted the Rust Belt red, Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe pushed a bill legalizing casinos through the legislature. The new law allowed for the provision of just three casino licenses in the entire country — guaranteeing their recipients local monopolies.
Thus, in February 2017, Adelson flew to Washington, D.C., for a meeting with the new president, and the Japanese prime minister. And after Adelson pitched the Japanese leader on his business, Trump went in for the close. As ProPublica reports:
Adelson had a potent ally in his quest: the new president of the United States. Following the business breakfast, Abe had a meeting with Trump before boarding Air Force One for a weekend at Mar-a-Lago. The two heads of state dined with Patriots owner Bob Kraft and golfed at Trump National Jupiter Golf Club with the South African golfer Ernie Els. During a meeting at Mar-a-Lago that weekend, Trump raised Adelson’s casino bid to Abe, according to two people briefed on the meeting. The Japanese side was surprised.

“It was totally brought up out of the blue,” according to one of the people briefed on the exchange. “They were a little incredulous that he would be so brazen.” After Trump told Abe he should strongly consider Las Vegas Sands for a license, “Abe didn’t really respond, and said thank you for the information,” this person said.
Adelson still hasn’t secured one of Japan’s coveted casino licenses. But on a recent earnings call he told investors, “[W]e’re in the No. 1 pole position.”

ProPublica goes on to detail Adelson’s influence over other aspects of the Trump administration’s governance, including his transparent role in shaping its (extraordinarily hostile) policies toward the Palestinians. Less well known, though, is Adelson’s success in persuading the EPA to devote a portion of its limited funds to studying his billionaire friend’s mediocre water technology. The Israeli start-up Watergen, owned by Adelson pal Michael Mirilashvili, makes machines that can extract potable water from the air. In his first weeks as EPA director, Scott Pruitt met with Watergen’s executives at Adelson’s behest, and then promptly pushed for the agency to strike a deal with the company that would allow the U.S. to study its technology:
Pruitt, according to one email, asked that staffers explore “on an expedited time frame” whether a deal could be done “without the typical contracting requirements.” Other emails described the matter as “very time sensitive” and having “high Administrator interest.”

A veteran scientist at the agency warned that the “technology has been around for decades,” adding that the agency should not be “focusing on a single vendor, in this case Watergen.” Officials said that Watergen’s technology was not unique, noting there were as many as 70different suppliers on the market with products using the same concept. Notes from a meeting said the agency “does not currently have the expertise or staff to evaluate these technologies.” Agency lawyers “seemed scared” about the arrangement, according to an internal text exchange. The EPA didn’t respond to requests for comment.

    The deal got done.

    .....

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters on Thursday that a failure to pass tax reform would fracture the Republican Party and lead to more far-right wing primary challengers. “The financial contributions will stop,” he added.
Within the White House, of course, the graft has typically been at once more petty and egregious. The president relentlessly uses his office to promote his private properties, while virtually every member of his Cabinet has been caught with their hands in Uncle Sam’s till, at one point or another.

    Adelson's donations influence Trump policy

    March 29, 2019

Sheldon Adelson gave Donald Trump money shortly before the 2016 election and Trump has pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal; relocated the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem; closed the U.S. diplomatic mission to the Palestinians; cut U.S. aid to Palestinian refugees and now endorsed Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights — which is part of Syria.

It is therefore hard to believe that Adelson's donations have not had an influence on Trump's foreign policy toward Israel. Why else would anyone give money to a political candidate or political action committee?

‘The biggest thing you did for Israel’ was breaking Iran deal — Adelson tells Trump

Donald Trump’s speech to the Israeli American Council on Saturday night in the presence of his biggest donors, Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, has caused some shock waves. Largely because he referred to Jewish wealth. Here are some surprises from the speech.
The biggest thing Trump did for Israel was breaking the Iran deal, per Sheldon Adelson:
I said to Sheldon, “What do you think was bigger? … Israel and the embassy going in, and it became Jerusalem, the capital of Israel? Or the Golan Heights [recognition as Israeli territory]?” He said, “Neither.” I said, “What do you mean ‘neither,’ Sheldon?” He said, “The biggest thing you did for Israel was breaking up and terminating the horrible, one-sided, catastrophic deal that was made by President Obama.” (Applause.) Right?
I said, “I never thought of it that way, Sheldon, but I agree with you. If you want to know the truth, I agree with you.”
(In 2015, Trump said of Adelson supporting a then-rival: “Sheldon Adelson is looking to give big dollars to [Marco] Rubio because he feels he can mold him into his perfect little puppet.”)
Trump says American Jews don’t love Israel enough — a continuation of his Jews are disloyal to Israel theme of last summer.
We have to get the people of our country, of this country, to love Israel more. I have to tell you that. We have to do it. We have to get them to love Israel more. Because you have people that are Jewish people, that are great people — they don’t love Israel enough. You know that. You know that. (Applause.)

    Soros, Nazis, Popper, Hayek

George Soros has been made in some sort of boogeyman for the far right media controlled by the Mont Pelerin Society.
George Soros the funder of the Clinton Foundation, Jared Kushner and Donald Trump...

Memes like the following have been thoroughly debunked: https://www.mediamatters.org/glenn-b...ht-anniversary

Even though it has been debunked that George Soros is an evil Jew, who at only 14 helped the Nazis to confiscate assets of Hungarian Jews, the December 1998 interview on which this is mostly based, has been deleted by Youtube.
Clearly I wouldn’t want anybody to make the wrong assumptions based on quotes taken out of context from an interview more than 20 years ago. I wouldn’t want to be accused of abusing our wonderful right of “freedom of speech”…

See some quotes from the interview; as you can see this doesn’t prove that black Georgy (György Schwartz) actively confiscated Jewish property… he was only helping out his stepfather “in a funny way” and he didn’t feel guilty because if he “wasn’t doing it, somebody else would be taking it away anyhow”.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.
Mr. SOROS: Yes. That’s right. Yes.

KROFT: I mean, that’s–that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?
Mr. SOROS: Not–not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t–you don’t see the connection. But it was–it created no–no problem at all.
KROFT: For example that, ‘I’m Jewish and here I am, watching these people go. I could just as easily be there. I should be there.’ None of that?

Mr. SOROS: Well, of course I c–I could be on the other side or I could be the one from whom the thing is being taken away. But there was no sense that I shouldn’t be there, because that was – well, actually, in a funny way, it’s just like in markets – that if I weren’t there – of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would – would – would be taking it away anyhow. And it was the – whether I was there or not, I was only a spectator, the property was being taken away. So the–I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.
Here’s the interview (I wouldn’t be surprised if Youtube deletes it… again), starting at 8:00, black Georgy explains about being a “spectator” in taking away Jewish property.
Soros also explains that as a “philanthropist” he supports regulations against financial predators (“players” like himself), but as a “businessman”, staring at 11:50, he tells that his Quantum Funds is registered in the Dutch Antilles to escape regulation…

It is even stranger that George Soros is used as the boogeyman for the Mont Pelerin controlled far right media, as Soros was highly influenced by 2 of the founders of the Mont Pelerin Society.
He even named his Open Society Institute (now Open Society Foundations) after Mont Pelerin cofounder Karl Popper and his 1945 book “The Open Society and Its Enemies”. Popper was a good friend of Friedrich von Hayek (Nobel Prize winner in 1974); they met at the London School of Economics.
See Popper and Hayek years later.

When George Soros attended the London School of Economics (LSE), Karl Popper became his mentor. Soros was also influenced by LSE professor Hayek.
In 2018, George Soros was named “person of the year” by the Rothschild-affiliated Financial Times for his wonderful philanthropic work: https://www.irf.ua/en/dzhordzh_soros...nancial_times/
    (http://archive.is/u7wvD)

Another of Hayek’s friends was Nobel laureate Milton Friedman, both founding members of the Mont Pelerin Society

In a 1978 interview with the UCLA, Hayek admitted that he really was a “Fabian socialist”:
I never was a social democrat formally, but I would have been what in England would be described as a Fabian socialist. I was especially influenced — in fact the influence very much contributed to my interest in economics — by the writings of a man called Walter Rathenau, who was an industrialist and later a statesman and finally a politician in Germany, who wrote extremely well.
He was Rohstoff diktator in Germany during the war, and he had become an enthusiastic planner. And I think his ideas about how to reorganize the economy were probably the beginning of my interest in economics. And they were very definitely mildly socialist.
On his close friend Karl Popper since the 1930s, Hayek said:
It was sufficient for me to have recognized this, but when I found this thing explicitly argued and justified in Popper, I just accepted the Popperian philosophy for spelling out what I had always felt. Ever since, I have been moving with Popper. We became ultimately very close friends, although we had not known each other in Vienna. And to a very large extent I have agreed with him, although not always immediately. Popper has had his own interesting developments, but on the whole I agree with him more than with anybody else on philosophical matters.

Though I will credit you with pointing out the Soros was influenced by Hayek. I have posted that before on these forums and was the first thing I thought of when I saw the poll. Soros didn't study Hayek too deeply and had a very superficial understanding of Hayek. But Soros believes economies are too complex to model and believes economics shouldn't be treated like a physical science. Nothing sinister there either.

On a side note, "Socilaists" who are also neocons (forced interventionistic minded dim wits) are probably much worse for humankind than some folks who may be impressed by socialism philosophy as a political theory.

There is lot of domestic/global socialism being practiced by some of the loudest critics of socialism in fakenews dominated politics of today.

I really don’t understand what point you're trying to make. My main reason for the previous post was the connection from George Soros to the Fabian founded London School of Economics, where Hayek and Popper were teachers, professors...
While you “thought” about it, for some reason you didn’t post about “black Georgy” Soros and his connection to Popper and Hayek in this thread.

I had early posted a summary of some “conspiracy theories” by the controversial politician Lyndon LaRouche. I didn't try to insinuate that Hayek was "hiding" anything. I found it relevant as it sort of confirms (at least some of) what LaRouche has argued; and I was surprised in that I've seen many, many "conspiracy stories" on George Soros, but nothing on his connection to Popper:

It incorporated both the "right-wing" economics of the Cobden Clubs and Thorstein Veblen's imitation of Ruskin-Morris socialism from the outset. The new Chicago university, launched with funds from Rockefeller, Schiff, and Field, transferred the Oxford economic crookery to the shores of Lake Michigan. The Fabian Society’s Beatrice Webb was its real founder.
One of John Ruskin’s students in economics, George Bernard Shaw, founded the “anti-capitalist” Fabian Society with Sidney and Beatrice Webb. Under the patronage of Opium War PM Lord Palmerston, the Fabian leaders really followed Oxford economics. Shaw beat the drum for the master race in “Man and Superman” (1901) long before Adolf Hitler arrived on the scene.

In 1912, Wesley Clair Mitchell went to Vienna for additional studies and shared Bohm-Bawerk's classroom with future Soviet official Nikolai Bukharin. In 1914, Mitchell tried to prove that inflation and depression are "not disruptions . . . but fluctuations systematically generated by economic organization itself". Mitchell forgot to mention that every American depression until the Panic of 1907 was the direct result of contractions in loans available on the London market. Mitchell helped to draft the “Report of the National Monetary Commission” that became the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.
On the advice of banker Paul Warburg, Father of the Federal Reserve, President Woodrow Wilson named Bernard Baruch to create a War Industries Board, with powers similar to the present Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Bernard, grandson of B'nai B'rith founder Kuntner Baruch, was attorney for the Anglo-American Guggenheim firm and a personal friend of Winston Churchill.

The Austrian School of monetarists later joined forces with Chicago in the Mont Pelerin Society and included Friedrich von Hayek and Ludwig von Mises. These products of the Viennese salons trained Milton Friedman's teachers, including the founder of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Wesley Clair Mitchell. Mitchell and his pupil, Milton Friedman, are really right-wing Fabians.
When Friedrich von Hayek gave the inaugural address of the Mont Pelerin Society in 1947, in his audience were most of Wesley Mitchell's boys: George Stigler, Henry Simons, Chicago professor Aaron Director and Milton Friedman (Director's brother-in-law).

The Mont Pelerin Society is never even mentioned in the newspapers but wields enormous power over the right wing of US politics. The Mont Pelerin Society is merely the economic arm of the "political" Pan-Europea Union that was co-founded by Otto von Habsburg. One of Von Habsburg's closest friends in the Mont Pelerin Society is William F. Buckley, Friedman's close collaborator throughout the 1960s.
Another Von Habsburg associate was the Nazis' puppet PM in wartime Hungary, Ferenc Nagy, who later founded the terrorist organisation Permindex (that was probably involved in the assassination of JFK).
In 1939, Von Hayek had already brought together the core for the Mont Pelerin Society under the name "Society for the Renovation of Liberalism".
In 1943, Von Hayek wrote the Mont Pelerin Society's founding document “The Road to Serfdom” in London. On the surface, Von Hayek shows the same concern for "individual liberty" against the "tyranny of the state" of Friedman, but behind the facade the policy recommendations lead to “serfdom” similar to feudal Europe.
In 1946, Abba Lerner published “The Economics of Control”, advocating the totalitarian state in which the state controls each facet of economic life. Milton Friedman himself argued that Lerner's totalitarianism was only the mirror image of his own economics, that: "totalitarian direction might achieve the same allocation of resources as a free price system" and achieve "a reasonable approximation of the economic optimum".Mont Pelerin's European headquarters is directed by its secretary, Max von Thurn und Taxis, and by its president, Friedrich von Hayek. Von Hayek and Archduke Otto von Habsburg direct Mont Pelerin's German-speaking branch.

Umm... Actually I did. It was the only reason I even opened the thread and literally the only post I made in it was about that connection. I mean you responded to the post. I get that what you post is mostly a bunch of crazy insanity about Rothchilds and George Soros and something about banks and the new world order, but I did feel the need to correct the small point because you literally responded to the post where I mentioned Hayek and George Soros.

You responded to my post to confirm something that I already posted!
It would be interesting if you would post some interesting information that isn't yet in this thread that was started some time ago.

I get that you're trying to make me look like a crazy "conspiracy theorist", because you're either:

    - Too stupid or gullible to see what is really going on;

    - You want to hide what is really going on from the masses because you support the so-called "New World Order".

Hopefully she stays away from MAGA tweets

But seriously, hope there was no implication that political funding and "America First"/MAGA can't also be put in the same sentence?
Considering that political funding behind current "America First" movement comes from a Foreign-Firster globalist neocon.

Notions like this could potentially dampen spirits of already somewhat demoralized GOPA wing republicans/democrats/others ahead of 2020. Some traditional GOP base segments like hardcore conservatives/2nd amendment activists have already floated narratives invoking such damaging words like 'fraud' about current well-funded MAGA leadership.

Maybe disappointing, but the following for some reason has NOT been picked up by reputable media like CNN, Fox, BBC or Infowars. Maybe I’m just a horrible thoughtcriminal, but to me this story is actually more convincing, because it is completely ignored by almost all media (whether “mainstream” or “alternative”).

It is the testimony of disbarred Dutch attorney Anne Marie van Blijenburgh, from 5 June 2014. She thinks she saw “an old man … George Soros” at some festivities for the elite that involved brutally raping and murdering children from Dutch child detention centres.
My name is Anne Marie van Blijenburgh. I have been married for twenty four years to Kees van Korlaar. Together with his three brothers, Kees van Korlaar forms a criminal organization known as the Octopus Syndicate. They have worked from 1960 on to today. By order of Queen Beatrix they have organized the murder, torture, rape and killing of children in a public setting.
    (…)
The people who I recognized there were Prince Johan Friso, his psychiatrist Guus Pareau Dumont, I recognized Friso’s wife Mabel Wisse Smit, she was there with an old man, I think it was George Soros, I recognized Mr. Donner, a former minister of the law department, the vice roy of the Netherlands, I recognized Ernst Hirsch Ballin, a very important former Minister of Justice, I recognized a Mr. van Emster, he was for years the head of all judges in the Netherlands, I recognized Dick Berlijn, he’s a former head of the military department in the Netherlands. I recognized Gerlof Leistra, a very important journalist of Elsevier. I recognized Carla Eradus, the wife of Friso’s psychiatrist Guus Pareau Dumont, Carla is the President of the Court in Amsterdam, a judge. I recognized Mark Rutte, he’s at this moment the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. I recognized Geert Wilders, he is at this moment the head of the political party PVV and head of the Dutch Parliament.
    (…)
If you just think how many people since 2004 have been killed, it’s been ten years, they kill perhaps ten or twenty people a year if not more, it’s horrible. I have shown the police four places in the Netherlands they use as grave yards for people they killed. Never, never, has any policeman ever taken the trouble to look.

Not clear yet if fakenews or actual breakup taking place between Iraq blunder burnt GOP and one of the most respected globalist neoconservatives who also top funder of 2016 MAGA revolution:

Trump antagonizes GOP megadonor Adelson in heated phone call

Trump chided the Las Vegas mogul — a financial linchpin of his reelection effort — for not spending more. And now, he might not.

When President Donald Trump connected by phone last week with Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson — perhaps the only person in the party who can cut a nine-figure check to aid his reelection — the phone call unexpectedly turned contentious.
The 87-year-old casino mogul had reached out to Trump to talk about the coronavirus relief bill and the economy. But then Trump brought the conversation around to the campaign and confronted Adelson about why he wasn’t doing more to bolster his reelection, according to three people with direct knowledge of the call. One of the people said it was apparent the president had no idea how much Adelson, who’s donated tens of millions of dollars to pro-Trump efforts over the years, had helped him. Adelson chose not to come back at Trump.
