Calls for violence have often been the first thing that people are willing to “ban”. Unfortunately, platforms like Facebook and Twitter will not find posts by one of these lone nuts. No one will notice them. But then, what really gets banned is political opposition instead. So the solution is no solution at all. It doesn’t do what it is supposed to do, and instead does exactly what it is not supposed to do (silence opposition speech).

Pittsburgh shooting suspect posted online about HIAS, an agency known for work with refugees
    By Farnoush Amiri - Oct. 28, 2018

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), known for their resettlement work in the U.S. and internationally, is one of the oldest refugee protection agencies in the country. The organization became part of the national conversation Saturday after the man suspected of shooting and killing 11 at a synagogue in Pittsburgh appeared to have referred to the group online.

In a post on the social network Gab, Robert Bowers, 46, linked to a directory of synagogues participating in a HIAS event, National Refugee Shabbat, saying he “appreciated” the list.
    ...
"We have made a lot of progress in the past two years in getting attention to our work but yesterday, things took a turn," said Bill Swersey, a communications director for HIAS.

In 1980, HIAS became an official, voluntary agency for the State Department's Office of Refugee Resettlement State, joining eight other organizations, which include other religious-based groups like the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services and the Church World Service.

The U.S government refers immigration cases to HIAS, where they work with their 20 sites and affiliates across the country to help resettle refugees.
    ...
HIAS is also involved in immigration causes globally through their 10 international offices. The recent issues at the U.S.-Mexico border and oncoming migrant caravan has also become part of the forefront of their work.

"As far as the migrant caravan goes, we are actively advocating for asylum seekers," Swersey said.

HIAS held their National Refugee Shabbat last week from Oct. 19-20 in various locations across the country so that congregations could "deepen" their understanding of the current refugee crisis. Speakers like Ahed Festuk, a Syrian activist from Aleppo and Debora Barrios-Vasquez, who recently resettled in the U.S. after fleeing Guatemala, spoke to attendees.

Weird. Looks like they had a drill for this very type of situation back in January 2018 -

Active shooter drill planned for Thursday night in Squirrel Hill, Darlington Road to close

January 24, 2018 - Pittsburgh and Allegheny County police along with the FBI will hold an active shooter drill Thursday night in Squirrel Hill.

The drill will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Jewish Community Center, 5738 Forbes Ave.

Darlington Road will be closed from St. Edmund's Way to Murray Avenue.

Residents may notice a large police presence in the area.

The exercise is closed to the public and the media.

The exercise is to ensure the area is prepared and ready to respond in an active shooter situation. The exercise will include apprehending a shooter, evacuations and treating victims at the scene.

At least 50 volunteers from the Squirrel Hill community and the Jewish Community Center staff will serve as role players for the exercise.

Someone could hypothesize that such a “drill” would actually plant the seed in some sick mind to actually do it. That would make such drills counter-productive.

Hundreds of protesters rallied outside the Tree of Life synagogue to demonstrate against Trump's rhetoric, holding signs reading 'Trump will lie about this too' and 'Ban assault rifles, be a leader'

Members of the community protest President Trump's visit in the wake of the synagogue shooting, Pittsburgh, October 30, 2018Amir Tibon

While Dermer agreed to join the president, other big names in Washington turned down the honor – House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, House Majority and Minority Leaders Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority and Minority leaders Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, all turned down invitations.
A list of local officials, including Pittsburgh mayor, Bill Peduto, also declined their invitations to meet with the visiting president. The mayor had publicly advised the president to delay his visit so that the community’s attention could be focused on embracing the victims.

PITTSBURGH RABBI SAYS HE SAW WARM, PERSONAL SIDE OF DONALD TRUMP AMERICA HASN’T SEEN

The rabbi explained to CNN that after Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer introduced him to the White House coalition, he shook Trump’s hand and escorted him inside the synagogue.

Once inside, Myers had about 15 or 20 minutes to hold private conversations with the Trumps and Kushner, during which time, he said the president was very “warm” and “consoling.” Before asking about anything else, Myers said the president turned to him and asked how he was doing.

“Throughout the time we spent together, I was pleasantly surprised by a warm, personal side to the president that I don’t think America has ever seen,” Myers said.

He added that he told his guests about his own personal experience during the shooting, which he said they found “shocking and upsetting.” He also told them that hate speech has no place in America’s society and that it leads to actions of hate, such as the deaths of eleven people from his congregation.

After his conversation with the Trumps and Kushner, some of the contents Myers respectfully asked to keep private, they lit memorial candles and the rabbi chanted the Jewish memorial prayer in both English and Hebrew. Myers then fulfilled Trump’s request that he lead him and Melania to the makeshift memorial, where the president placed stones and the first lady placed white roses.
Political commentator John Burnett also posted a video on Twitter of the president at a Pittsburgh hospital, where he went to visit with some of the people who were injured during the shooting. A group of people wearing scrubs gathered near one of the hallways, and as the president walked by, they shouted their thanks and appreciation for his visiting.

It's been theorized that drills are where a lot of video footage is taken that is later spliced into news reports and the "shooter" character persona created as part of the drill. The amount of drills that coincide with "real" events that happen later is uncanny and defies the odds. There's a long history of this. I don't know for sure what happened but I did watch the CNN 'live' breaking news coverage of it and there were definitely some oddities in the footage they aired. I learned to pay close attention to any aired footage after Sandy Hook's footage revealed a lot of screwery.

If this was fakenews/falseflag etc (assuming that's what your comment was hinting at?), POTUS knew that when he visited there?
Or such political hack could take place without the knowledge of a sitting POTUS?

EM, tend to agree with the highlighted.
But media is so discredited, their attacks often end up helping instead of hurting him. An argument can be made that media helped him get elected.

Media coverage also tends to paint MAGA as a "Nazi" and shooter sharing his ideology. But in reality suspected shooter hated him:

Suspect in Pittsburgh synagogue shooting pleads not guilty

Robert Bowers is accused of shouting anti-semitic epithets during the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. Neighbors describe the 46-year-old as "unremarkably normal."
    USA TODAY

Wearing a red jumpsuit and a bandage on his left arm, the suspect in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting rampage that left 11 people dead pleaded not guilty Thursday in a brief arraignment in federal court where prosecutors emphasized he faces the possibility of the death penalty.
Robert Bowers, 46, is accused of the heinous killings in a 44-count indictment that includes charges of hate crimes.
Authorities say a heavily armed Bowers walked into the Tree of Life Synagogue in the city's affluent Squirrel Hill neighborhood Saturday morning as services were beginning. He shouted anti-Semitic epithets and started shooting.

As in his first court appearance Wednesday, Bowers pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. This time, however, Bowers – who was shot and wounded in a gunbattle that left four police officers injured – walked into court, without the aid of a wheelchair.
Unshackled, the stocky truck driver shook hands with his attorney and appeared to be looking at the indictment. He glanced around the room while walking to the table but said nothing.

Trump called Peduto, wanted to talk death penalty after synagogue shooting, Peduto says

Adam Smeltz and Bill Schackner , Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
    Nov 5, 2018

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto was on the phone with President Donald Trump for just a few minutes.
But that was enough time for Mr. Trump to ask the mayor about the death penalty, Mr. Peduto said Monday, recalling their conversation Oct. 27 when the president called him right after the Tree of Life synagogue shootings in Squirrel Hill.
After an initial exchange, he said, the president wanted to know his position on capital punishment.
“I didn’t say anything,” Mr. Peduto told reporters. “I was just numb, and not because he brought it up.”
Rather, he was numb because officials had just issued an “all-clear” at the synagogue, allowing authorities to enter and report back on the scope of the incident, Mr. Peduto said.
“There’s time for different types of conversation. That very moment I just wasn’t ready to be engaged in” that, he said, later adding: “I was just in a very different place.”
