Yay! Bigger deficits! $1 trillion a year is not enough! (Congress will have to approve any tax cuts- they write those laws).

TRUMP: "We are looking at putting in a very major tax cut for middle-income people. And if we do that it'll be sometime just prior to November. We are studying very deeply right now round the clock a major tax cut for middle income people."
Since the last round went to the rich people.

Or it is just election year fake promises. It certainly won't happen by November. Congress won't be voting on anything before November (two weeks away).

Just like his suggested "5% budget cuts" won't actually happen either (and in the rare event that they did, what he suggested would not reduce spending by five percent but by 0.6% because most of the budget was left off).

Income tax cuts are always good, that is the worst tax you can possibly have.

Debt is also bad, so is inflation - the inflation tax is bad in part because most people don't recognize it for what it is, in part thanks to people like zippy.

And because they are rich, it is less their.money and should be appropriated?

I'm not rich, upper middle class and the tax cuts in the last round went to me too.

Trump's last tax cut yielded a record tax revenue for last fiscal.

I think he is going into cutting mode, next years budget will be less than Obama's last term, me thinks. Trump is so unpredictable that he is predictable and the most predictable of all is his ego.

Any libertarians in here complaining about tax cuts and take their lowered taxes, you can give me the difference because I will be happy to take it.

How about cut spending AND give us a tax cut.

We're being governed ruled by a geriatric Alzheimer patient/puppet whose strings are being pulled by an elitist oligarchy who believe they can manage the world... imagine the utter maniacal, sociopathic hubris!

I'm middle class and the last round of tax cuts made about a 7% difference in my take-home pay. Not phenomenal, but it's there. I have to assume all these rumors that the tax cuts last winter didn't affect anyone but the wealthy just don't have a pay stub to look at.

Meaning: Get a real job zippy.

It's not really a tax cut without a spending cut.

That's right. The money I won't be paying in taxes is fictional savings because the dollar isn't real. In fact nothing is real. We are all living in the Matrix. Only gold and Ron Paul are real.

Amirite? Does that about sum up what you are saying?

EVERY spending restraint without exception has come about from Republicans. The Sequester was purely from the Tea Party in 2011. The budget negotiations under Clinton came about entirely because Republicans took the House for the first time in 40 years because of Clinton was a big government guy his first two years. It was Gingrich and Kasich that deserve 100% of the credit.

It is true that Republicans behave poorly under Republican Presidents but that doesn't mean Democrats behave well. Democrats are even worse than Republicans under Democratic Presidents. See Obama's first two years.

He's kind of right. The inflation is still there, and is driven largely by borrowing and spending.

However, I'd rather have inflation with a tax cut than inflation without a tax cut. But people saying that these tax cuts didn't affect anyone but the super rich are full of s***, and probably just don't have jobs or work minimum wage jobs and were barely paying any taxes to begin with. Some people would have a stroke if they had to admit that Trump did anything right.

Kamala Harris and other prominent Democrats want to repeal Trump's tax cuts and replace them with cash payouts for the poor and working class

    • With midterm elections 2½ weeks away and the 2020 presidential race around the corner, prominent Democrats are embracing an ambitious idea: Repeal and replace the $1.5 trillion Republican tax plan.
    • The proposals would get rid of the tax cuts and, in turn, funnel that money into government-guaranteed cash for low- and middle-income households.
    • Possible White House contender Sen. Kamala Harris announced a plan this week that would give working families up to $6,000 each year, with the option of receiving monthly payments.

Middle income tax cut "just prior to November"? Are we there yet? November just a day away!

The top Republican lawmaker on tax policy in the U.S. House of Representatives said on Tuesday that he is working with the White House and Treasury to develop a new 10 percent middle-class tax cut plan that President Donald Trump began touting over the weekend.Representative Kevin Brady, who chairs the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, said the plan would be crafted in "coming weeks" and would advance in Congress if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in midterm elections on Nov. 6.
"President Trump believes American families deserve to keep more of what they work so hard to earn. We agree," Brady said in a statement.

"What President Trump is doing on the (campaign) trail is, he's just describing what he wants to be in the tax bill that moves next year," Trump economic adviser Kevin Hassett told MSNBC on Tuesday.
"You could expect in our budget, and also in our approach to legislation next year, that we're going to be pursuing a big reduction in government spending."

This is why the announcement was made: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...le-on-tax-cuts

Well, since the first one didn't help the middle class and voters are not happy and the election is coming up, let's promise them some tax cuts of their own.

Internal GOP Poll: 'We've Lost the Messaging Battle' on Tax Cuts

A survey commissioned by the Republican National Committee has led the party to a glum conclusion regarding President Donald Trump’s signature legislative achievement: Voters overwhelmingly believe his tax overhaul helps the wealthy instead of average Americans.

By a 2-to-1 margin -- 61 percent to 30 percent -- respondents said the law benefits “large corporations and rich Americans” over “middle class families,” according to the survey, which was completed on Sept. 2 by the GOP firm Public Opinion Strategies and obtained by Bloomberg News.

The result was fueled by self-identified independent voters who said by a 36-point margin that large corporations and rich Americans benefit more from the tax law -- a result that was even more lopsided among Democrats. Republican voters said by a 38-point margin that the middle class benefits more.
The RNC study says Americans worry the tax law will lead to cuts in Social Security and Medicare, concluding that “most voters believe that the GOP wants to cut back on these programs in order to provide tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy.” It attributes that finding to “a fairly disciplined Democrat attack against the recent tax cuts.”

So how's that "second" and "third" phase tax cuts doing for everyone?

Blows my mind that anyone here believed the promises of future tax cuts... If they weren't going to do it in the first bill, they weren't going to do it. I'm not complaining about those tax cuts but it hardly provided any tax relief for middle class Americans. Almost all went to corporations, which is fine... if phase 2 & 3 were included in the original bill as well.

Guess we'll be told next we have to wait 2 years and win back the house, keep the Senate and POTUS and then MAYBE we'll get those future phases.

Approximately when is it coming and will it also be "revenue-neutral" or financed by debt from China?

Saw a report today that despite massive tax cut this year that added over $Trillion to debt, Wall Street stocks have are now lower for the year now and all gains since start of the year have been erased.

It is coming by November, 2018. Just in time for the midterm elections. Trump promised.
