Trump: US troops will stay in Middle East to protect Israel
    November 28, 2018
    Trump told the Post:
Now, are we going to stay in that part of the world [the Middle East]? One reason to is Israel. Oil is becoming less and less of a reason because we’re producing more oil now than we’ve ever produced. So, you know, all of a sudden it gets to a point where you don’t have to stay there.

While true that GOP/Dems and MAGA are not all compliant political slaves of his top funder, US tax payers aid to to our closest ally and only non-racist democracy in mideast is increasing:

Mega-donor Adelson, with access and influence, scores two pro- Israel victories
These are heady days for casino billionaire and megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
A passionate and hawkish advocate for Israel with close ties to its prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Adelson was in Jerusalem today for a celebration of the U.S. embassy’s relocation to that city, a longstanding priority for the mogul. Similarly, Adelson had pushed hard for President Donald Trump to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, which happened last week.
And the day after that announcement, Adelson quietly slipped into the White House for a private meeting with Trump and three top administration officials: Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and an Adelson favorite, National Security Adviser John Bolton, according to two conservative sources familiar with the previously unreported private event.

Could this attack on a wedding gathering of Shiites (they tend to be pro-Iran) that was allgedely aimed to stop US exit from Afghanistan finally mobilize Congress and MAGA administration to cut all foreign aid if hand of Deep State of our closest ally is found to be behind this?

The deadliest attack of the year in Kabul bodes poorly for the US-Taliban deal

US-Taliban peace talks are nearing their conclusion, but a terror attack in Afghanistan’s capital that killed at least 63 people gives credence to critics who claim the deal will be a disaster for Afghans.

By Zeeshan Aleem Aug 18, 2019

An Afghan security official keeps watch over the hall attacked by a suicide bomber during a wedding on August 18, 2019. Haroon Sabawoon/Anadolu Agency/Getty Images A suicide-bomb blast killed at least 63 people at a wedding party in Kabul on Saturday night, and injured 182 more.

It was the most lethal attack in Afghanistan’s capital this year, and it comes at a sensitive time: the US and the Taliban are in the final stages of negotiating a deal that would allow the US to withdraw its troops from the country provided that certain security goals are met.
The Taliban denied responsibility for the attack and condemned it, and the local affiliate of ISIS claimed that it was behind the bombing.

Iran army chief accuses Israel of creating ISIS

Iranian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi claimed Wednesday that Israel created and supports the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
“ISIS is Israel’s cover up for distancing the revolutionary forces from Israeli borders and creating a margin of security for the Zionists, and the Zionist media have also admitted this fact,” he said, Fars News Agency reported.
ISIS recently took areas in northern Iraq.

Syria: The Strange US/Israel/Al-Qaeda Ménage à Trois
A little more than a week after the extremists linked to Al-Qaeda by our own US government set up and murdered Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced that the United States would send an additional $45 million to the very same Al-Qaeda’s Syrian franchise.
Yes you read that right: The US is sending another $45 million to assist in Syria the same people it is fighting in Afghanistan and the same people who killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya.
Interestingly, the US, Israel, and Al-Qaeda all agree that the rebels in Syria, many of whom are foreign jihadists, must succeed in overthrowing the Assad government. That is like an all-you-can-eat luncheon buffet in front of hungry conspiracy theorists.

One cool thing about Obama era was that motivated critics used to come up with cool graphics in media related to debt spending, unfortunateky that trend has gone down lately since the rise of MAGA First Patriotism:

Here's how much aid the US wants to send foreign countries in 2015, and why (INFOGRAPHIC)

The Obama administration wants to give Israel more than $3 billion. Will it get it?

The United States gives a lot of money to the world. How do you think it's being spent?
To help you answer that question, we used data from the US State Department to create a series of charts detailing all the requests for foreign aid made by the US government for the fiscal year 2015.
Aid from the United States to foreign nations is funneled through nine government agencies. The charts below contain complete data sets from the US Agency for International Development, the US African Development Foundation, the Peace Corps and the Inter-American Foundation.
Only partial data are available from the Millennium Challenge Corporation and the US departments of the Treasury, Agriculture, State, and Defense. Still, the data provide insight into who's likely to get the most foreign aid and what the money is going toward.

The charts below show how much money is being requested for foreign countries and for what. They are grouped by region. The box next to each bar indicates the largest area for which US aid money is being sought, and shows the percentage that category comprises of the total requested US assistance for that nation.

If he won't even get most of the US Jewish vote (that is 1-2% of US vote?) as you said, what explains his policies as what one prominent neoconservative called 'the most pro-Israel President in US history"?

Some anti-semitic leaning theories have in the past without any proof claimed that 'Jewish vote' is often euphemism for 'Jewish money' that reportedly accounted for upto 60% of US Political funding.
A famous US Congresswoman recently had even made shocking claim that Israel lobbies bribed US politicians to influence US mideast/wars policies etc, MAGA had boldly asked her to resign over her anti-semitic statement.

The theme of the J Street conference was conditioning aid to Israel, but where’s the action?

Michael Arria on October 28, 2019

Senator Bernie Sanders speaking at the J Street conference (J Street Twitter)

A major theme has emerged at this year’s annual J Street conference: conditioning U.S. military aid to Israel.
Jeremy Ben-Ami, president of the liberal Jewish nonprofit, set the tone on the first day of the conference. “Our aid is not intended to be a blank check,” he declared. At a press conference the next day, he revealed that the group would push for legislation that regulates how aid money is used by Israel.
The first Democratic presidential candidate to be interviewed at the event was Senator Amy Klobuchar. Former Obama administration officials Ben Rhodes and Tommy Vietor asked the Minnesota centrist whether she would leverage aid money in an effort to pressure Israel. “I think we are at this moment and time where it is not a good idea to negotiate these things right now,” she responded before moving the subject to a broader discussion about President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Klobuchar was the only candidate who seemingly dodged the question. Colorado Senator Michael Bennet said he would have to weigh the validity of such moves. Julian Castro said he was prepared to condition aid to Israel in order top stop a potential annexation of the West Bank. “My hope is that we can work like crazy so we don’t get to that point,” said Castro, “I would not take it off the table. I want to focus on what we can do hopefully with a new government, and a new president.”
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg doubled down on his earlier embrace of the same annexation point, but this time he seemed imply that he might be open to conditioning aid over settlement expansion as well. “We need to make sure that any such cooperation and funding is going to things that are compatible with U.S. objectives and U.S. law,” he said, “It is a reminder that we need to have the visibility to know whether U.S. funds are being used in a way that are not compatible with U.S. policy.”
The most forceful endorsement of such policies came from Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders (who also received the loudest cheers from the audience.) Not only did he endorse the idea of conditioning aid, he also indicated that some of the aid should immediately go towards Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. “My solution is to say to Israel: you get $3.8 billion every year, if you want military aid you’re going to have to fundamentally change your relationship to the people of Gaza, in fact I think it is fair to say that some of that should go right now into humanitarian aid,” said Sanders.

    — People for Bernie (@People4Bernie) October 28, 2019

Last week presidential candidate and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren said she’d be open to conditioning aid over the issue of settlement expansion. “Right now, Netanyahu says he is going to take Israel in a direction of increasing settlements, [but] that does not move us in the direction of a two-state solution. It is the official policy of the United States of America to support a two-state solution, and if Israel is moving in the opposite direction, then everything is on the table…Everything is on the table.”

In defiance of popular opinion, DNC rejects motion to condition aid to Israel over annexation

By Michael Arria July 28, 2020

On Monday, the Democratic National Committee’s platform committee voted down an amendment that would have added the word “occupation” to its platform and conditioned aid to Israel if the country moved forward with its proposed annexation of the West Bank.

The motion was proposed by Bernie Sanders delegate Clem Balanoff, the executive director of Our Revolution’s Illinois chapter. The proposed amendment would have asserted that Palestinians have the right to live “without occupation” and added a line declaring that United States aid should not be used “to facilitate annexation or violate Palestinian rights.”

“At a time when hundreds of thousands of Americans have been marching in our streets – and many of you on this call – for equality and civil rights, it is unconscionable for the Democratic Party not to speak truthfully to the Palestinians efforts to secure those same rights,” Balanoff told the committee.

Former US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, and former undersecretary of state for political affairs, Wendy Sherman, both spoke out against the amendment during the meeting. Shapiro said that Demcrats “ought to speak with one voice about our support for our ally Israel, and our support of the right of Palestinians to live in a state of their own..we should not let disagreements about words or specific policies threaten our party’s unity.”

US Senate foreign aid funding bill holds spending steady, leaves out COVID-19

    By Adva Saldinger // 11 November 2020

The Senate Committee on Appropriations has released its fiscal year 2021 funding bills. Photo by: John Guccione from PexelsWASHINGTON — The Senate’s fiscal year 2021 state and foreign operations budget bill provides roughly the same amount of funding for aid as last year, though it has a couple of notable differences from the House of Representatives bill — including no emergency COVID-19 funding.

The bill, released by the Senate Committee on Appropriations Tuesday, includes $55.2 billion for state and foreign operations spending, well above President Donald Trump’s request, which would have substantially cut the aid budget and about the same amount that the Senate proposed last year.
House boosts foreign aid funding, adds $10B for COVID-19 response
The U.S. House of Representatives appropriations committee has released its annual funding bill for fiscal year 2021. Here's a breakdown of where funds are going and the details of the COVID-19 response funding that's included.

The Senate bill provides a slight increase in funding for global health funding above what was enacted in fiscal year 2020 and included a $175 million increase for global health security funding. The House bill proposed $805 million for family planning, while the Senate includes $461 million, which is the most significant difference in the global health budget between the two.

The silverlining of this post election mess, perpetual wasteful foreign aid has been brought into focus by Prez Trump:

Trump Threatens to Reject COVID Relief Bill Over 'Wasteful' Foreign Aid, Echoing '$500m for Israel' Uproar

    The Associated Press
    Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened on to derail months of bipartisan work, which included the participation of his own administration, on a massive COVID-19 relief package in the midst of a raging pandemic and deep economic uncertainty, suddenly demanding changes fellow Republicans have opposed. In a video tweeted out on Tuesday night, Trump cited both the inadequately low direct payments to U.S. citizens and a range of foreign aid provisions that were part of a separate omnibus bill.

Citing "$85.5 million for assistance to Cambodia, $134 million to Burma, $1.3 billion for Egypt and the Egyptian military, which will go out and buy almost exclusively Russian military equipment," Trump urged Congress to “get rid of the wasteful and unnecessary items from this legislation and to send me a suitable bill.”

Trump's apparent misunderstanding of the fact that the stimulus deal was included in a broader year-end spending package (including the 2021 Pentagon spending bill, which covers foreign aid for a number of U.S. allies) echoed the uproar seen on social media this week after observers noted the bill included “$500 million for Israeli cooperation,” with a large percentage of that dedicated to missile defense systems. This seemingly disparate allocation of funds – considering negotiators could only agree on $600 stimulus checks for individual U.S. citizens – triggered much outrage on social media, to the point where “$500,000,000 for Israel” was trending on social media worldwide.

Eric Trump, the president's son, also tweeted an image detailing the foreign aid included in the omnibus bill - including the $500m allotted to "Isreal" - echoing his father's criticism and misperception of the legislation in question.

U.S. House passes FY2022 Foreign Aid Bill urging $52 million in U.S aid to Artsakh Republic and Armenia, cutting military aid to Azerbaijan

    July 29, 2021

The U.S. House expressed concern over President Joe Biden’s April 23rd waiver of Section 907 restrictions on U.S. aid to Azerbaijan, citing its contribution to the disparity in U.S. military assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan, in a report accompanying the Fiscal Year 2022 Foreign Aid Bill (H.R.4373), adopted by a vote of 217 to 213, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
“We welcome today’s U.S. House report language as a meaningful step, alongside today’s adoption of the Pallone Amendment, toward rolling back President Biden’s reckless waiver of Section 907 and, more broadly, stopping all U.S. arms and aid to Azerbaijan’s oil-rich, racist, and openly anti-Armenian Aliyev regime,” said ANCA Government Affairs Director Tereza Yerimyan. “Not a single U.S. tax dollar should ever be shipped to the Azerbaijani military to kill, cripple, or capture Armenians.”

The report accompanying the H.R.4373 also calls for not less than $50 million in U.S. assistance to Armenia, “for economic development, private sector productivity, energy independence, democracy and the rule of law, and other purposes.” It urges not less than $2 million for demining activities in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). The recommendation for U.S. assistance to Armenia is over twice that requested by President Biden in his FY2022 proposed budget, which remains silent on the matter of U.S. assistance to Artsakh.
