    ...
In an unprecedented vote that exposed deep EU divisions, the European Parliament in Strasbourg backed a report calling for Hungary to be sanctioned for its crackdown on NGOs, the media and universities.

Budapest’s foreign minister Peter Szijjarto denounced the vote to trigger the “Article 7” procedure as the “petty revenge” of “pro-immigration politicians”.
    ...
Hungary has long been at loggerheads with Brussels over its opposition to the EU’s mandatory migrant quotas and strongman leader Viktor Orban has allied himself with Eurosceptic leaders such as Italy’s interior minister Matteo Salvini.
    ...
On Tuesday, Viktor Orban, Hungary’s populist strongman leader, spoke in the European Parliament.

He claimed that the verdict had “already been written”. “Hungary will be condemned because Hungarians have decided their country is not going to be a country of migrants," he told MEPs on Tuesday.

He said that European Parliament elections in May next year would be the battleground between pro-EU and nationalistic politicians where Europe’s future direction would be settled. Prominent far-right figures are floating the idea of forging a pan-European alliance ahead of next year's elections.

Mr Orban insisted that all of the criticism against his government is based on Hungary's tough anti-immigration policies, which include fences built in 2015 on Hungary's southern borders with Serbian and Croatia to divert the flow of migrants and very restrictive asylum rules. He has also expressed his desire to remain within the EPP, which he said was "deeply divided" on the issue of migration.

Poland on Wednesday said it was very worried by the European Parliament's rare decision to launch a procedure against Hungary for posing a "systemic threat" to the EU's founding values. The vote took the first steps under Article 7 of the European Union Treaty, known by some in Brussels as the "nuclear option", which could ultimately strip Hungary of its EU voting rights.
Other EU governments could halt any further action, however, and Poland -- a fellow ex-communist state that is also facing an Article 7 procedure -- has warned it would do so.

The Order of the Garter not only uses the EU but also the UN to enforce mass migration: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthr...ed-World-Demog

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has opposed the mandatory mass migration policy of the EU and said in a recent interview:
We believe that a large number of Muslims inevitably leads to parallel societies, because Christian and Muslim society will never unite.
Hungary’s PM Orban, who once campaigned against the Communist oppression in Hungary, has allied himself with other politicians that oppose mass migration, like Italy’s interior minister Matteo Salvini.

That’s obviously a violation of the so-called “European values”, so Dutch member of the EU, Judith Sargentini, compiled a report to trigger article 7. The report indicates 12 “problem areas” in Hungary, including: the rights of migrants and refugees, rights of minorities (including Roma and Jews), independence of the judiciary, freedom of expression, and corruption.
The European parliament also alleged misuse of EU funds by Orbán’s son-in-law.

MEPs from the European People’s Party, turned against Orban and voted for punishing Hungary. Its leader Manfred Weber hopes to become the next European Commission president.
In an unprecedented move, the proposal was approved by 448 votes to 197, with 48 abstentions. To be adopted, the proposal required an absolute majority of members (376) and two thirds of the votes cast.
This has resulted in a temporary loss of EU Council voting rights for Hungary.

Viktor Orban spoke in the European Parliament before the vote:
Hungary will be condemned because Hungarians have decided their country is not going to be a country of migrants.
Poland is also facing the article 7 procedure.

Hungarian foreign minister, Péter Szijjártó, denounced the vote with:
Today’s European Parliament decision was nothing else but a petty revenge of pro-immigration politicians against Hungary.
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...y-undermining/
    (archived here: http://archive.is/nmliD)

The Dutch MEP who spearheaded the vote, Judith Sargentini, was applauded by many MEPs after the vote.

Amnesty International's (funded by George Soros) expert on “human rights” in the EU, Berber Biala-Hettinga, hailed the vote as "historic", because this makes clear that mass migration is “not up for negotiation".

Besides the involved politricksters from the EU and Hungary, Israel’s favourite Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, got the most media attention and tweeted after the vote:
Hungary is the example for all EU countries and Orban is a hero and deserves the Nobel Prize.

Italy blames France for Gaddafi's downfall and migrant crisis
    https://aml.ink/21WdW

In Rome, the responsibility for the influx of migrants is laid on France, which persuaded NATO countries to get rid of Gaddafi.
As a result, Libya is now torn apart by rival factions and an ongoing conflict between its two governments.

“It is clearly now undeniable that this country (Libya) finds itself in this situation because someone, in 2011,
put their own interests ahead of those of the Libyan people and of Europe itself,”
    ----Italian Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta.

Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini also chimed in,
►blaming former French President Nicolas Sarkozy for unleashing the war in Libya
►and the present government for adding fuel to the flames of the Libyan conflict.

►Rome and Tripoli signed an agreement to allow Italian companies to extract oil in Libya
►Gaddafi government was holding back the flow of migrants to Europe
►GDP was the second biggest in Africa

In Rome, the emphasis is that the decision to overthrow Gaddafi was made without taking into account the views of Italy.

Orban’s Moscow Visit a Middle Finger to EU After Last Week’s Humiliation

The “salon des refusés” of political dissidents in the EU is getting bigger by the day. Less than a week after his government was condemned in a vote in the European parliament, Orban is in Moscow for talks about energy with Putin. His visit to Russia is the political equivalent of giving the EU the finger …

Orban is not alone. In his battle with the EU over immigration and the rule of law, he is supported by Poland and the Czech Republic. Poland, which is also facing an Article 7 procedure … has vowed to protect Hungary, just as Hungary has vowed to protect Poland. So there is no way that the voting rights of either country can be removed, since the ultimate vote to do so requires unanimity. Orban also recently received the support of Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and of the Italian Minister of the Interior, Matteo Salvini.

These politicians have voiced support for Orban's stance against immigration. But they also support his pragmatic approach to Russia. Salvini is a well-known critic of the Russia sanctions, and Italy has said they should end. Parts of the Austrian government agree, the Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl having recently had Putin as a personal guest of honor at her wedding, while the Vice-Chancellor, Heinz-Christian Strache, is well known for his pro-Russian and pro-Putin views. …

Hungary Responds to UN, Rails It Will 'Never Be a Country of Migrants'
    https://sputniknews.com/europe/20180...y-un-migrants/

Hungary's foreign minister accused UN authorities of disseminating lies, resulting from their critical stance on Budapest's anti-migration policies,
further emphasizing that the state would "never be a country of migrants."

"It is obvious that the UN officials spreading these lies about Hungary are biased pro-migration officials,"
Peter Szijjarto told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The official also stressed that Hungary's authorities "will never allow one single illegal migrant to enter the territory" of the state.
