'Steady State' Or Deep State? New York Times' Hate-Driven Coup

The New York Times has published an explosive - but anonymous - op-ed purportedly written by a "senior official" in the Trump Administration outlining how his fellow officials are working night and day to thwart the US President's agenda. Is this a coup?
"Foreign aid is taking money from the poor people of a rich country, and giving it to the rich people of a poor country." - Ron Paul
"Beware the Military-Industrial-Financial-Pharma-Corporate-Internet-Media-Government Complex." - B4L update of General Dwight D. Eisenhower
"Debt is the drug, Wall St. Banksters are the dealers, and politicians are the addicts." - B4L
"Totally free immigration? I've never taken that position. I believe in national sovereignty." - Ron Paul

The Electoral College is flawed. Polling gives the illusion of knowledge.
Given how often Trump has gone back on his word when he shouldn't
and gone ahead with things when actually he needed a bipartisan pact,
the minor miracle is that he hadn't been impeached. The way the split
went would have equally doomed HILLARY CLINTON, if things had been
slightly different, POTUS KAINE would be trying to lead us now. Trump
treats all his foes like they are Rosie O'Donnelll, he assumes Twitter gives
him a Carte Blanche to be a total jackass. Even so, I feel the "anonymous"
essayist should own up & quit the nonsense. If DJT is not in failing health,
if he truly has been incompetent or greedy or thought the same, slowly and
deliberately impeach him, don't "baby" him. Quit the garbage immediately.

    Steady Trumpkin

That is, nothing has changed despite the noise-making of Trump people.

In defending this big and getting bigger government, ...has everyone gone insane?

    ....a rhetorical question.

Let's say the depth of the rabbit hole is bigger than expected. I can not stop watching.

    Getting bigger?

Are you paying attention at all to what Trump is actually doing, or are you just reading NYT, CNN, WaPo etc and taking their word for it?

I am, apparently you aren't; spending has dramatically increased.

As a percentage of GDP the federal budget is decreasing, not increasing. You need to adjust whatever data you're looking at to accommodate inflation and GDP growth.

And the budget is just one element in "the size of government". In every other aspect you can think of, from regulations to foreign commitments to the level of impunity with which government actors can operate, the size of government has gone down.

That's why we have an economic boom under way. Trump is getting the government out of the way and stopping the relentless increase in the size of government.

It would happen a lot faster if he didn't have to drag dead weight like you along with him in performing these miracles.

    So what?

    Federal spending is increasing.

There is no reason whatsoever that spending ought to increase with GDP.

And the budget is just one element in "the size of government". In every other aspect you can think of, from regulations....
The deregulation amounted to $600 million per year, according to the White House's own accounting.

The total regulatory burden is well north of $2 trillion.

It was nothing but a publicity stunt, pro forma campaign-promise-keeping, ala Obama "going through the budget line by line."

    to foreign commitments
    Military spending has increased.

That's why we have an economic boom under way.
None of the structural problems have been solved.

The massive misallocations of resources have only gotten worse.

The average person now is doing reasonably well in spite, not because, of Trumpbamian economic policies.

With the printed money flood (which supports these structural problems) coming to end in Europe and Japan, the next recession is nigh.

Trump is getting the government out of the way and stopping the relentless increase in the size of government.

LOL, yea, it's terrible for the cause of small government that people advocate for small government.
