The long-running US and Russian proxy war in Syria has been largely forgotten of late, but suddenly snapped back into international headlines with John Bolton's warning Assad and Russia this week that Washington will respond with "greater military force" should claims of a Syrian government chemical attack emerge in Idlib.
In response, Russia subsequently warned of a staged "chemical provocation" coming and it appears a war of words is yet again ratcheting up over Syria, which has the very real potential of turning into an actual war.

It fits a familiar pattern on Syria since Russian intervention at the invitation of President Bashar al-Assad in 2015: just when it appears the jihadists are on the brink of final defeat, and as stability is returning after seven years of grinding war, something happens to bring things right back to the brink of global crisis and escalation.

And now, a senior Russian lawmaker in the Federal Assembly (Duma) has called on his government to draw its own "red lines" while suggesting the use of tactical nuclear weapons against United States forces in Syria.

The Russians have moved in another Navy frigate, the Admiral Makarov, joining 2 other frigates off the coast of Syria. Meanwhile, the U.S. is positioning its military vessels: the U.S.S. The Sullivans has arrived with 56 cruise missiles, the U.S.S. Ross has 28 cruise missiles / tomahawks. You also have B1 Bombers deploying to a base in Qatar with 24 air to surface missiles. So clearly something is happening militarily with both sides: the U.S. is getting missiles in place and I think that might be why the Russians have said: “Hold on, a false flag is coming”. And Bolton is giving a green light, wink wink wink, saying if there is a false flag, we’re going to start bombing. Well if you’re some al qaeda guy sitting in Idlib, (and yes it’s al qaeda that controls Idlib), if you’re in a pickle you think, hay, let’s make the U.S. Military our own air force to save our hides.

“I put in your hands documented information on the preparations taken by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and the affiliated groups to use the chemical weapons against civilians in Idlib province to accuse the Syrian Arab Army and to justify any aggression that might be launched on Syria.”

Eight canisters of toxic chlorine were sent to Halouz village in Idlib, accompanied by US/UK-funded White Helmets terrorists and US/UK-supported al-Nusra and allied … jihadist ... What’s going on is preparation for a CW false flag in Idlib to be wrongfully blamed on Damascus, a pretext for more US, UK, French terror-bombing of Syrian sites …

Trump's Bolton Signals on Al-Qaeda to stage more chemical attacks in Syria

In a move that was entirely predictable, the US administration is once again threatening to bomb Syria if there is a “chemical weapons attack”. …

Trump's national security adviser, John Bolton, who on August 22, stated: “...if the Syrian regime uses chemical weapons we will respond very strongly and they really ought to think about this a long time.” …

John Bolton just ordered al-Qaeda to use chemical weapons against our civilians. Nothing is clearer than that.

Bolton's statement was preceded by an August 21 France-UK-US (FUKUS) joint statement, likewise threatening further illegal bombing of Syria if a chemical attack in Syria occurred (based on evidence the US never has nor needs to reveal).

Recall that the last time they acted on such a threat, in April 2018, the US and its interventionist allies didn't even wait for the Douma lie to be exposed, let alone for any mythical evidence to materialize, before they illegally bombed Syria with 103 missiles. The bombings occurred before the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) had a chance to visit the Douma sites in question. …

FUKUS' appetite for destroying Syria wasn't satiated in April 2018, nor in the April 2017 bombings …

Chemical weapons accusations are among the most overused war propaganda tactics during the war on Syria. … Some of the more loudly blasted claims were: March 2013, in Khan al-Assal, Aleppo; August 2013, in eastern Ghouta areas; April 2017, in Khan Sheikhoun, Idlib; and April 2018, in Douma, eastern Ghouta.
