Thumbs down Jeff Sessions vows to support gun control

While the Department of Justice is working to convince a judge to lift an injunction barring the publishing of blueprints for 3D printed guns, Attorney General Jeff Sessions says his division will take action against people who make the plastic “undetectable” firearms.

“Under federal law, it is illegal to manufacture or possess plastic firearms that are undetectable. … Such firearms present a significant risk to public safety, and the Department of Justice will use every available tool to vigorously enforce this prohibition,” said Sessions in a statement. “We will not stand for the evasion, especially the flouting, of current law and will take action to ensure that individuals who violate the law by making plastic firearms and rendering them undetectable, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.”

Sessions’ statement followed a brief by the DOJ Wednesday that urged a federal judge to rescind a block on publishing the blueprints. That injunction came after 19 states and the District of Columbia argued that the guns were untraceable and could be a boon to criminals and terrorists.

Can someone tell this retard none of the published 3D printed gun blueprints can be used to make undetectable plastic guns. They still rely on metal parts such as screws, springs, and other metal hardware. They often use a nail on the hammer and let's not forget about the metal slug and brass casing. As far as detectability, the only main difference between these 3d printed guns and a polymer glock is the use of a plastic barrel.

So he is promising to enforce an already existing ban on guns that don't exist while his department pushes to convince a judge to lift an injunction barring the publishing of blueprints for 3D printed guns?

Pardon me if I don't freak out, this is just giving the leftists a bag of air.

Why would it need a plastic barrel, when you guy buy a regular barrel without having to register it?

Seems like the only part that needs to be printed would be the part that gets registered, the rest can be bought on line.

The designs that are at the heart of this injunction use 3D printed barrels. These designs aren't about making good firearms. They about doing as much as possible with the printer, mostly for curiosity's sake.

Also you don't have to register a firearm manufactured by yourself if you don't plan on selling it.
