Sen. Rand Paul Discusses John Brennan and Engaging Russia

Rand Paul discusses security clearances and Russia wth Laura Ingraham.
"Foreign aid is taking money from the poor people of a rich country, and giving it to the rich people of a poor country." - Ron Paul
"Beware the Military-Industrial-Financial-Pharma-Corporate-Internet-Media-Government Complex." - B4L update of General Dwight D. Eisenhower
"Debt is the drug, Wall St. Banksters are the dealers, and politicians are the addicts." - B4L
"Totally free immigration? I've never taken that position. I believe in national sovereignty." - Ron Paul

We are no longer part of the Cold War era, nor should we always act
as if it's basic groundrules are ongoing and omnipresently continual.
The only good thing DJT has done is ask a basic question about our
foreign policy and the goals we have as a nation. All else is payola,
graft and confusion, bombastic missives which when carried out can
send us into a downward spiral. Ron Paul has suggested cuts to our
military spending. All guns and no "butter" as the economy tanks is
a formula for an eventual disaster, said as our national debt increases.

It's MY own prose. LBJ had a war on poverty, hence "butter" and
an actual groundwar in Viet-nam that IKE & JFK got us into. The
spending on the "butter"war decreased as the actual war ballooned
up our debt. You cannot have guns and butter, both. Right now we
are dropping larger, bigger and more expensive bombs. Our military
spending has increased as we are slashing the basic services for
our returning veterans. We have spent between 4 to 5 trillion $$$
on our War On Terror since 9/11 and will end up paying out 10 to 20
trillion dollars over the next few decades because of everything we
have done since Bill Clinton left office. Trump's Space Force either
adds to our budget or it draws on things the Pentagon does already.

In 1865, Andrew Johnson began to demobilize the Union Army.
After WW1 we saw Wilson and Harding deal with returning vets
and a winding down of our war effort. After WW2 Harry Truman
likewise demobilized, only to face the issues of the early days of
the Cold War. Military spending began to again increase inside a
very "peace time" domestic America. Is Trump sincere about an
extensive dismantling of our Cold War apparatus or does he loot it?

Let's say that Russia over the past 20 to 30 years has not been
as hostile to us as the U.S.S.R was previously, and the wisest
thing Bill Clinton did is let the thaw happen when Boris Yeltsin
was in power. Admittedly Putin has become more autocratic over
time, but he has yet to equal Stalin's despotic paranoid purges.
Ought we to rethink things as a society in light of this, perhaps?

Why does it come out with this strange narrow format? Are you posting from a phone?

I should. I can. But it's an aging tablet. I need a new laptop.

It's interesting to see the entire right-wing media now echoing Rand Paul's original argument. They don't give him credit, but even Rush Limbaugh is repeating Rand's original arguments.

Rand is not perfect but he knows how to win much better than many of the members of this site.

I think he is learning from Trump.

DJTvsg does have more to learn from the Pauls than they have to learn from him.

Swordsmyth... If the public gets angrier, only honest Republicans are electable.
Odds are Donald Trump may find it impossible to conduct the same campaign he
did in '16, he may simply be the worst sort of unelectable lame-duck contender.

The only articulate forum member from here I can remember casually chatting with
that MIGHT eventually end up in the U.S Senate is Representative Thomas Massie.

So we have a double agent in Yemen? who would have thought that we had a double agent in Yemen. I am sure that up until John Brennan said that, the Yemenis did not have a clue about a potential double agent in their ranks.

You couldn't write this kind of script in Hollywood, nobody would believe it

By the time Rand learns what he needs to learn he will have learned that he doesn't want to be president or in politics.
