I'm all for it.

I've said for years, if I must live in a police state, and it seems that's the case for the foreseeable future, then damn it, I want a manly one, which includes giant military parades.

Bad enough the condition that we're in, but a Grundy-esque female version of authoritarianism; of petty gripes and constant nagging and scratchy annoyances and bans on anything worthwhile, is just $#@!ing insufferable.

And this is what's fascinating about Trump, he can even get AF on his side on this. Of course he wouldn't, but Rand would lose support from everyone if he advocated something like this. Obviously we expect more from Ron Paul's son, but it's really interesting to look at individual policies like this.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday he had canceled plans for a Veterans Day military parade, citing the “ridiculously high” price tag — a day after U.S. officials said the November event could cost $92 million, more than three times the price first suggested by the White House.


Trump on Twitter accused local Washington, D.C., politicians of price-gouging. But preliminary estimates from the Pentagon showed that more than half the price tag would come from military aircraft, equipment, personnel and other support. The remainder would be borne by other agencies and largely involve security costs.


The Defense Department had announced Thursday there would be no parade in 2018. Trump tweeted that perhaps something could be scheduled next year when the price “comes WAY DOWN.” He did not explain how the costs would be reduced.

Just claw back a $100m from Boeing, Grumman, Raytheon and Lockheed to pay for it. They'll barely notice it and make Trump appear to be tough on the MIC and show some budget awareness, add some good will for the MIC, while respecting the vets and still getting the parade.
