Israel Passes Law "officially" making Israel a nation of the Jewish people and more...

Quite significant, from all angles. Political, religious, prophetical.

Israel was born of "the idea" from it's reconsitution back to the Balfour Declaration, but this law codifies that Israel is not only "democratic" but is a nation of the "Jewish people". It codifies a religious identity in the way a Muslim country is perhaps better known for.

    Anyway, here is the article:

Knesset votes contentious Jewish nation-state bill into law

After hours of furious debate, lawmakers approve quasi-constitutional Basic Law enshrining Israel as 'the national home of the Jewish people'

The Knesset overnight Wednesday-Thursday passed into law the contentious nation-state bill that for the first time enshrines Israel as “the national home of the Jewish people” in its quasi-constitutional Basic Laws.

Lawmakers approved the bill in its second and third readings overnight, with 62 voting in favor, 55 opposed and two abstaining, after hours of heated debate in the Knesset chamber.

Similar to a constitution, the Basic Laws underpin Israel’s legal system and are more difficult to repeal than regular laws. The nation-state bill, proponents say, puts Jewish values and democratic values on equal footing. Critics, however, say the law effectively discriminates against Israel’s Arabs and other minority communities.

The law also declares that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, set the Hebrew calendar as the official calendar of the state, and recognizes Independence Day, days of remembrance and Jewish holidays. One clause of the bill downgrades the Arabic language from official to “special” standing, but also cryptically stipulates that “this clause does not harm the status given to the Arabic language before this law came into effect.” Read the full text of the law here.

The most furious protests during the debate came from Arab lawmakers.

Joint (Arab) List MK Jamal Zahalka ripped the text of the bill to shreds from the podium.

“I declare with astonishment and sorrow the death of democracy… The funeral will take place today in the plenum,” his fellow party member Ahmad Tibi said in an Arabic statement on Wednesday.

On Wednesday night, Likud MK Amir Ohana, who chaired the committee that hammered out the bill, hailed the imminent passage of the law as a “defining moment in the history of the State of Israel, the one and only state of the Jewish people.”

He called the law “historic,” and said it received the most serious legislative treatment of all of Israel’s Basic Laws, having been debated and revised for over a year.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Naftali Bennett reached an agreement to cut a controversial clause, which allowed the state to “authorize a community composed of people having the same faith and nationality to maintain the exclusive character of that community,” and replace it with a new clause celebrating “Jewish settlement” in Israel in general terms.

Lawmakers amended the bill accordingly just hours before the final authorization on Wednesday, removing the clause sanctioning housing discrimination on the basis of ethnicity or religion.

Some of the last-minute changes to the bill came after politicians, legal advisers and others warned that several of its clauses were discriminatory and could cast a dark shadow over Israel in the international arena.

President Reuven Rivlin, whose position is generally considered to be symbolic, expressed concerns about the now-amended clause in a rare intervention in Israeli politics last week. In a letter to lawmakers, Rivlin warned the legislation in its previous form “could harm the Jewish people worldwide and in Israel, and could even be used as a weapon by our enemies.”

Outgoing Jewish Agency chairman Natan Sharansky, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and Knesset legal adviser Eyal Yinon also raised opposition to the text.

Judaism is already mentioned throughout the country’s laws and religious authorities control many aspects of life, including marriage. But the 11 existing Basic Laws deal mostly with state institutions like the Knesset, the courts, and the presidency, while Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty defines Israel’s democratic character.

First proposed in 2011 by Avi Dichter, then an opposition Knesset member with the centrist Kadima party and now a prominent Likud MK, the bill has seen numerous rewrites and parallel proposals.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has enthusiastically thrown his support behind the proposal, vowing for years that it would ultimately be passed into law.

The law states that the “whole and united” Jerusalem is the state’s capital, which appears today in Basic Law: Jerusalem. The nation-state law further grants the status of an official language only to Hebrew.

Tens of thousands of members of Israel's Druze minority and their Jewish supporters, some chanting "equality," packed a central Tel Aviv square Saturday night to rally against a contentious new law that critics say sidelines Israel's non-Jewish citizens. It marked the first time in recent memory that the Druze — followers of a secretive offshoot of Shiite Islam who are considered fiercely loyal to the state — staged a large public protest. Hundreds of brightly colored Druze flags, rarely seen outside the community, fluttered in the square along Israel's national banners. Nearby City Hall was also lit up in Druze colors.
The rally marked the biggest backlash yet against the recently passed law that enshrines Israel's Jewish character and downgrades the standing of Arabic from an official to a "special" language.

The Druze serve in the military, unlike most of the country's Arab citizens, who overwhelmingly follow Sunni Islam and have close family ties with Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied territories. Over the years, members of the Druze community have risen to prominence in the military and in politics.

On Saturday, Tel Aviv's Rabin Square was packed with Druze protesters bused in from all over Israel, and their Jewish backers, including former senior members of the defense establishment. The crowd chanted "equality, equality."
"We came here to tell the entire Israeli nation, with all of the Israeli people, that this country is for all of us," retired Brig. Gen. Amal Assad who spearheaded the Druze campaign against the legislation, told The Associated Press. "We were born here, we will die here, we love this country, we have defended it, and we will continue to live here together — Jews, Arabs, Druze, Circassians, Bedouins, as equal brothers.
"We are all Israelis," he said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Cabinet ministers have met with Druze leaders to try and pacify their concerns. But recent meetings did not go well.
According to Israeli media, Netanyahu abruptly ended a meeting with Assad and other Druze officials this week after Assad warned the new law would "lead to apartheid."
Lawmaker Avi Dichter, a co-sponsor of the law, was heckled by Druze in attendance at another meeting.
Several Druze military officers recently said they would stop serving in response to it, sparking fears of widespread insubordination.

The Druze, who also live in other parts of the region including in Syria and Lebanon, have managed to survive by showing loyalty to their country of residence.
Israeli Druze leaders say their alliance with Jews dates back long before they helped them win independence in 1948. The Druze revere Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, whose tomb in northern Israel is one of their most sacred sites. Israel's 130,000 Druze live mostly in the north of the country.
Protester Rima Basis, 25, from the predominantly Druze town of Daliyat al-Carmel, said the new law has helped entrench a feeling of inequality that had already existed to some degree.
"The bond that we've had until now has suffered a very serious blow," she said. "Until now, we've given without any price, without anything in return, out of the belief that at the end of the day, we're indeed brothers, people who can live together in peace."
"If you now define me not as citizens of the state, how can I give any more or feel like I belong to this country, or stand up and sing the national anthem with pride?"

►Meeting between Netanyahu and the Druze leadership blew up
after former high ranking Druze officer accused Netanyahu
of leading the country to apartheid - Netanyahu ended the meeting

In Golans, most of them long refused Israeli offer of citizenship.
They support Syrian government and want be a part of Syria again.
Those living in Israel are oftenly mostly IDF fighting force.
    Well, they were....
Since zionists declared Israel as Jewish state only
they consider leaving IDF en mass.
This is also why the meeting mentioned above didn't go very well.

Shachalnur (below) knows some interesting details about this.
He already wrote about this even before it went to the news:

Druze Slaughter (US assist) July 26, 2018

He mentioned this in connection with massacre of Druzes in Suweida.

Funeral of martyrs of the terrorist bombings which hit Sweida province yesterday

    Elijah J. Magnier
►ISIS captured SAA soldiers following the most deadly attack (after Speicher massacre).
Last toll Suweida: 220 killed and 180 wounded following ISIS incursion on the southern province.

Tens of ISIS vehicles went unnoticed by USA based at al-Tanf where ISIS attack came from.
Other sources claim attack went directly from US occupied Al-Tanf border crossing:

    Joshua Landis
►The lethal ISIS (US assisted) attack on the Jabal Druze was undoubtedly a diversionary strike
meant to blunt the SAA attack on ISIS enclave near the Golan Heights
and turn eyes from its defeat to its remaining capabilities.

(After Zionists downed Syrian jet during raids against ISIS and attacked Syrian positions in Quneitra
this aggression from US occupied territory is yet another proof who is really behind the terrorist groups operating in the region. )

    Shachalnur
About the massacre of Jabal Druze there's an interesting angle:

The Syrian Druze that got murdered are direct relatives of the Druze community in the north of Israel.
The Druze in Israel mostly serve in the Israeli army.

Last week the so called Nation-State (Jewish only) law was passed,
and it's running into trouble because the Druze in Israel are very angry.

So your analysis of who's behind the Druze massacre in Syria sounds logical.

But if the nation state law causes huge friction with the Druze in Israel (population 140.000),
Is the massacre in Syria that looks like an Israeli/US organized action in Israel's interest?

It's the worse thing that can happen to Israel right now,
if it comes to it's relation with the Druze in general.

The rockets that landed in the Kinneret lake yesterday weren't Syrian either,
it was from one of Israel's ISIS friends.

so I conclude something else is going on....
(If it came from US controlled territory another explanation might be possible.)

    -----

The North of Israel (occupied Golan) and the Syrian side are thinly populated.
In these areas the Druze are not a small minority.

Almost all (Israel side) Druze serve in the Israeli army ,and percentage wise more of them in fighter units(lol) than Jewish soldiers.

If Israel with the fascist regime, loses the collaboration of the Druze, they are playing with the fate of the occupied Golan.

If the Druze turn on them, they'll have a huge problem, also Hasbara wise.

If Israel starts attacking, actively suppressing and killing local Druze, the outcry in Syria and Lebanon will cause a serious problem.

The situation in the north of Israel is very bad since they lost the war against Hezbollah in 2006.

I know, because I lived there for a while.

Jewish Israelis don't wanna live there, even though
►the regime gives them low rents and house prices,
    ►lot's of subsidies,
►the soil is more fertile and there's more rain....
they prefer to stay close to Tel Aviv.

The Druze were given 5 Knesset seats in 2009, to stop the rot after 2006.

Netanyahu needs the nation state law:
    ►for domestic reasons,
    ►the fascist paranoid population
    ►and the scandals.

That they will play with the Golan is being calculated...
more and decisions of Israel seem to be more desperation than well-planned geopolitical moves.

I think Israel is being cornered from several sides.
►Diaspora Jews, religious and non religious are splitting away, supporting BDS, or are being forced out.
►Iran and Hezbollah all around the northern border
►Hamas not stopping their pressure on the southern border,
►and both Palestinian and Druze populations inside Israel getting more emboldened by developments north and south.

Apart from Trump, they have a lot of bad luck, from all points of view.

It looks to me like the suicide bomb (that the chosen sect Israel was designed to be) is being activated again.
this time not by the Sabbatean Satanic Rothschild gang, but by the Eugenicist Rockefeller forces.
