The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says a 16-year-old male was shot and killed by two Carver County deputies after authorities responded to a call from a woman reporting her son was suicidal and threatening her with knives and a baseball bat Friday morning in Chanhassen.

A release said deputies arrived on the scene on the 6400 block of Oriole Avenue where they encountered the teen and deployed a taser. But at some point during the encounter, the two deputies fired their weapons, striking the male who was pronounced dead at the scene.
