Cool Ted Cruz has introduced a bill today...

He is either being incredibly wise & brave with a needful reform
of greatly recently heavily burdened system...or he just committed
political suicide with the best intentions. Either way, I am in awe.

Sen. Ted Cruz introduces 'emergency' bill to keep immigrant families together, slams Dems' proposal
    June 18, 2018

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on Monday announced a plan to introduce comprehensive "emergency legislation" designed to end unnecessary separations of illegal immigrant children from their parents.

The bill, an answer to President Trump's call for a congressional solution to the situation, would double the number of immigration judges to 750 and mandate that illegal immigrant families be kept together, unless there has been "aggravated criminal conduct" or threat of harm to the children, according to Cruz's office.

The new legislation would also authorize new temporary shelters for immigrant families, and provide for expedited resolution of asylum claims within 14 days.

"All Americans are rightly horrified by the images we are seeing on the news, children in tears pulled away from their mothers and fathers," Cruz said. "This must stop. Now."

But, Cruz added, his Democratic counterparts have taken the wrong approach on the issue.

"The answer is not what congressional Democrats are proposing: simply releasing illegal aliens and returning to the failed policy of 'catch and release,'" Cruz said. "Rather, we should fix the backlog in immigration cases, remove the legal barriers to swift processing, and resolve asylum cases on an expedited basis.

    Expedited deportation

Expedited resolution and speedy deportation is good. This seems to put some teeth into the Bill Clinton process known as "expedited removal", aka Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (Bill Clinton).

Looks to me like he's feeling the heat of a his Dem opponent in his upcoming re-election bid. Beto O'Rourke has been all over Texas hammering Cruz on this topic amongst the populace that has significant exposure to the people affected by this bill. Cruz is nothing if not a self interested opportunist. If he's doing something, it's because he thinks it's good for Ted Cruz.

    Uh . . .

    Ted Cruz . . .

With dual USA and Canadian citizenship until 2014, Cruz is not eligible to be a United States of America Senator by law until 2023.

This foreign-born piece of chit is a discredit to Texas and offends the US Constitution - and has to go.

Albert Gallatin was the first Senator to lose his seat because of the citizenship technical defect -
Gallatin was born in what is now Switzerland - when it was called The Republic of Geneva -
and in 1794 hadn't had his 9 years in as a US citizen . The impeachment vote went along party lines . . .

A very intelligent man - he became the 4th Secretary of the Treasury under Jefferson, from 1801 - 1814.

Rafael Eduardo "Lyin' Ted" Cruz was also foreign-born and entered the United States Congress as a native born Canadian -
which he didn't renounce until 2014.
