How much of the Trump supporters in the 2016 election we're Bush supporters from 2000/2004?

Was it a different voting generation it did Donald Trump really make the Bushes look that bad? Because Donald Trump is not at all like the Bushes not with platform nor background.

I would say same voters . These votes are not for these people at all . They are merely votes against Gore , Kerry , Obama and Clinton and whatever communist the dems put up next . These votes are for the modern mainstream GOP or big govt , big spending , debt , socialist party which is viewed as less painful that the modern dem party of communists , baby killers , totalitarian govt , big spending , debt , anti second amendment and other amendments party .

There was a very large number of voters on both sides who made their choices to vote against one candidate rather than for the other. Neither had very favorable popularity ratings.

This. Taking Gore as his running mate was the best thing Clinton ever did for Tennessee because we did not have Gore in office ever again. He didn't take Tennessee, if you notice.

Gore's problem wasn't Florida with the hanging chads. His problem was Tennessee. And Arkansas.

    Like GHW Bush's 8th term

The same people who voted for Poppy Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney are delighted with Donald Trump. It's like GHW Bush's 8th term.

    1Bush, 2Clinton, 2Bush, 2Obama, 1Trump = 8 terms for Poppy Bush.

GHW Bush's long awaited New World Order is finally coming into view for the Bushbot faithful.

Yes, the fact of the matter is that he is moving the ball down the field.

His bombastic and scatterbrained demeanor just serves to rattle the other side even more.

I have no idea how all this will turn out, I've been poleaxed and wrong from day one with this guy, every time I think I've got him figured out he zigs when I expected a zag.

So for right now, I give a thumbs up overall.

I don’t know why people have a hard time figuring him out. He has a template to which he strictly adheres. He says he is going to do something and then goes right out and does it.

This. That's why he's known as $#@!face von Clownstick V. But really these five presidents are just an extension of Nixon.

Let's say I lived near you in Tennessee.

I'm planning a cross country drive to L.A. ... by way of New York City.

That's how I observe Trump...yeah he may get it done, but it's in a scatterbrained manner.

Least that's how I see it.

I agree, he uses the "drunken monkey" strategy.
He may not be the President we want but he may be the President we need, the enemy is well defended against the direct approach.
I can only wish that somewhere a full fledged liberty candidate is taking notes.

There is a world of difference between Bush 2000 and Bush 2004.

Bush 2000 was "humble foreign policy, fiscal conservative".

Bush 2004 was "full neocon, debt, bail-out crony corporatists, abandon the free market to save the free market".

Trump IS the enemy. Don't get herded back onto the left-right plantation by reflexively loving whatever the left claims to hate. "Don't throw me in that briar patch" is the oldest trick in the book.

The country is pretty well divided in half . Six in ten americans work , three of those pay more tax than they recieve .The communist coasts and everywhere else . Populations in large cities who want abortions , "free" food , housing, education , universal income and violations to the bill of rights along with these gross Constitutional violations and soundly unAmerican , sick ideals . Then the other half , ordinary people who are mostly not bright enough to see what is being stolen from them .

Is it based on the increased spending, the increased gun control, or the increased foreign wars? Or perhaps it's the increased screeching on the left that is making you like him more?

Of the more than 17,000 public comments received so far by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a review by Reuters of 4,200 turned up only 10 favoring the bump stock ban. Almost all the rest criticized the proposal as heavy-handed, unnecessary or unconstitutional.

Increased border control, reduced regulations, tax cuts, disruption of the western empire, defensive tariffs............
The list goes on and on compared to what we have had, with any luck he will get more control and add to the list things like leaving Syria and Afghanistan.

I didn't say that, but isn't it better that all of Europe and the UN isn't in lockstep on that?

I think Trump is trading those to certain factions to get what he wants elsewhere, hopefully he can pull us out after he doesn't need to make that trade anymore.

And I forgot to mention the crown jewel of Trump's accomplishments so far: Gorsuch.
