The service is not being regulated. The behavior of a government employee is being regulated.

And the behavior of the owners of the platform would also be covered by the theory used to regulate Trump's private behavior on his private account on a private service.

Dude, the amount of damage control management that goes on, at least online, to try to keep Trumpers on the reservation, is ludicrous, while he talks about ending due process for gun owners, signs huge deficit spending packages that would make Obama proud, never even mentions red meat social issues dear to conservatives (abortion, anything Christian really, unless it involves Israel), went back on 'Lock Her Up' and 'Drain the Swamp', no wall, capitulating to Chuck and Nancy every time, etc. We have a few of the management team here it seems...
That's not even including the economic changes like high gas prices, inflation, stock market issues that are coming.
We'll hit full Idiocracy mode by the time 2020 rolls around if Trump runs for re-election, if he's still in office by then, that is, and we're still holding elections.

You make a good point, I am not sure whether or not people will stop using social media just because Trump says it's fake news, assuming that you are right and assuming that Trump can't convince people to stop using social media then that doesn't always mean the opposite isn't true either. Trump may be able to motivate people to use social media more, sort of a reverse psychology. That begs the question is it beneficial for POTUS to motivate people to use social media, more?
