Police were called to a school in Connecticut after a student built a gun out of Legos, according to a local news report.

Authorities were called to Jepsen Magnet School in New Haven after a student, who has not been identified, “made the gun and started pointing it at the other kids,” FOX61 reported.

In a statement, a spokesperson for New Haven Public Schools told the news station that “school leaders and local police partners were able to investigate and resolve the issue internally with use of restorative practices.”

“Appropriate steps were taken at the school level to insure the safety of all students and to impress upon the students the seriousness of engaging in positive peer interactions while avoiding conduct that may pose risk or concern to others. All children need to feel safe and secure within the learning environment and we all have a role to play to make that happen,” the statement continued.

The spokesperson did not provide any more information to FOX61. New Haven Public Schools has not yet returned Fox News' request for additional comment.

I guess the children's toy market has been infiltrated by socialists or has no lobbyists anymore. Could you imagine the costumes and accessories, like we had when we were kids, that could be out now? SWAT bullet proof vests, tactical weapons, the like. No more Lone Ranger badge and cap-pistol. Storm-Trooping $#@!.
Of course I guess the kids now just do that in virtual space by creating a "skin" on an avatar. SMDH.

Yeah. I weep for them. My favorite toy for a while was one I found scavaging the local dump down in Whispering Pines Fla. Must have been '74, '75 and I was 9 or 10 respectively. They actually would let people "scalvage" as a friend used to say. I came across this cool cap pistol. It seemed like a Walther PPK from memory. A "Bond" gun. But instead of paper caps it used the "cap clips," which were caps in a plastic clip. Remember them? So this "Bond" pistol had a detachable magazine the you could insert the "cap clip" into. Pretty fuggin' cool. And free from the dump. Can't imagine why someone would through away such a valuable treasure.

You see dozens of boys in the area playing around. What is the FIRST thing nearly every boy did? Built either a lego sword or lego gun or both. Then they proceed to run and chase and shoot and swordfight with their lego creations. And mind you, these are all kids that have grown their entire lives with guns and weapons having been explicitly forbidden from role playing at their schools, daycare. etc. And yet it was the first thing every single one of them thought to build. My kid loved every minute of it.

My boys - and probably everyone else's - could make ANYTHING into a gun or sword. Slightly crooked stick? Shotgun. Animal cracker box? Pistol. Sister's glow worm? Long sword.

I can't imagine getting called to school about s Lego gun. I'd laugh right in their faces while pulling my kid out of there and transferring. Ridiculous
