    This guy is fearless.
It is my understanding that he and his wife regularly walk amongst the public without security. You can not do that if your population does not support you.

I don't see how that would affect their ability to kill him.
I was thinking more along the lines of they don't want to kill him for some reason.

If they are worth their salt at all they can find and target him anyway and he has no defenses against them.

Any intelligence agency worthy of the name should be able to pull it off while making it look like ISIS did it.

The CIA tried to kill Castro for decades.

A half trillion dollar military budget doesn't really solve the problem if the target has loyal guards.

I'm sure he wasn't isolated. There were probably some goons in unmarked cars shadowing him. It isn't necessary to stop the city and stick out to be safe.

Cuba was an island that Castro had complete control of.

No but being alone in a normal unprotected car in Syria is asking to get an RPG in your face, it appears he doesn't have to worry about that for some reason.

I was gonna say the same thing. While he's "walking amongst the public without security", no doubt radar is being monitored, there are spotters and undercover people. This is standard. Definitely risky, and for that admirable, but no doubt there is security precautions.

Choosing a civilian vehicle is better cover and less likely to be considered a vehicle carrying a president. I notice cars on the road disappear about half way through his "tour" and he is the only one we see. Last moving vehicle (two guys on a scooter) seen about 2:30 out of more than seven minutes.

He starts out in a busy part of Damascus and is heading toward the front lines of a war zone. You think the average driver would be out driving toward a war zone? So, of course normal traffic will not be traveling the direction he was heading.

Ghouta is only about ten miles from Damascus- yet we see no other traffic for two thirds of the video. In either direction.

He was trying to say it wasn't a war zone anymore- that it was "back to normal" yet what we see are empty roads and armed soldiers.

Zippy, did you even watch the video? He says he is heading toward recently liberated areas of East Ghouta, while other areas still remained under militant control. The areas he was driving through in the video may not have been a "war zone" anymore, but he is heading towards the war's edge where there could be active fighting (war zone)/or negotiations in progress. The areas now under government control...those areas begin to start the process of getting "back to normal". I do not know at what point in his travel the video cut off, but I suspect he had not yet reached where he was headed. I never heard him say things were "back to normal"...timestamp it, if you will. I hear him lamenting about the loss of a generation's education, etc. In the last 2/3 of the video there was other traffic, not much, and not all of it was military, though I would naturally expect military to be quite active in the area considering he was near militant held areas. Oh, and apparently, over 60,000 civilians have returned to East Ghouta since it's liberation.

Do you U.S. government lackeys following their official narrative and agenda ever give it a break?
