In principle we all should be opposed to bombing of foreign countries using shady/bogus excuses. While such flip flops may appear shocking from outside, to be devil's advocate, is it possible that we are not aware of tremendous pressures faced by US Presidents when they are designing foreign policy? Iran's close ally Syria poses threat to our closest allies in the world Israel & Saudi Arabia. Should tax payerd funded President just sit on his hands and leave our closest alies hanging amid such growing threats?
Granted current POTUS seems immune to such pressures and according to his loyal supporter Scaramucci was "not blackmailable", following chilling report was in news recently.
Publisher of the ‘Atlanta Jewish Times’ suggests Mossad should assassinate Obama
Adam Horowitz on January 20, 2012
John Cook reports at Gawker: Andrew Adler, the owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, a weekly newspaper serving Atlanta’s Jewish community, devoted his January 13, 2012 column to the thorny problem of the U.S. and Israel’s diverging views on the threat posed by Iran. Basically Israel has three options, he wrote: Strike Hezbollah and Hamas, strike Iran, or “order a hit” on Barack Obama. Either way, problem solved!
Here’s how Adler laid out “option three” in his list of scenarios facing Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu (the column, which was forwarded to us by a tipster, isn’t online, but you can read a copy here):
Three, give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States’ policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies.
Yes, you read “three” correctly. Order a hit on a president in order to preserve Israel’s existence. Think about it. If I have thought of this Tom Clancy-type scenario, don’t you think that this almost unfathomable idea has been discussed in Israel’s most inner circles?
Another way of putting “three” in perspective goes something like this: How far would you go to save a nation comprised of seven million lives…Jews, Christians and Arabs alike?
You have got to believe, like I do, that all options are on the table.

I agree and to demonstrate being in that position with the power to do something:
- Provided intelligence shows Syria disregarding chemical weapons treaties and using it to genocide civilians. This after a history of use of chemical weapons.
- Lack of action sends a signal to all other countries the US is paper tiger. Emboldens every tin pot dictator in the world including North Korea making foreign policy problematic going forward.
- Lack of action against chemical weapons facilities will enable Assad to continue it's horrific use against civilians despite he is winning the war.
- Enormous internal pressure from the deep state and Neocons to obstruct a pull out.
Trump destroys some vacant factories, some military infrastructure, yet leaves Assad in power to send a message on chemical weapons and our resolve. Later pulls out anyway.
I'm rarely comfortable to be in complete agreement so I'll have to take contrarian view again even just to exercise an argument.
If Assad had used just drones/bombs/bullets to kill same Islamist Arab children in his country, would that have been acceptable for same people so pained by the plight of these arab children?
Technically all explosive materials used by drones/guns are also chemicals as confirmed by images of children burnt to death/maimed by drone attacks/MOAB drops.
Secondly, if main reason for carrying out these US tax payers funded bombings is to protect arab children from atrocities by "animal Assad", won't then our compassionate leaders be obliged to attack Isarel also being run by "non-Animal Netayahu" who just carried out atrocities against arab children, women also?

"Provided intelligence"? What evidence? Washington admits it has none - still looking.
Lack of action? - Washington has been doing nothing but stupid action base don lies for decades now. - This latest idiocy just proves once again Washignton has no respect for international law, truth, evidence due process. Attacking a sovereign nation?
Even were the accusation true - which they aren't - Washington's blatant hypocrisy and pretend crocodile tears are just one layer of evil lies over another. Salafi Arabia is committing genocide on Yemen. If Washington concerned? No - it is providing the weapons, logistics and fuel to do it.
Its 2nd BFF Israel just used hundreds of unarmed local populace for target practice - shooting hundreds and killing over 30. - Is Washington launching missiles to "take action"? - No it white washes the crimes and continues funding them.
After funding and arming an imported terrorist army to stage a regime change coup in Libya that failed, it then obliterated the existing government with bombs and left the populace subject to Washington's imported army of armed terrorists, causing deaths of hundreds of thousands, displacement of millions, untold masses of refugees, and established a modern day openly run slave trade. Where is Washington's concern?
It then ran a weapons and terrorist rat line to Syria to stage its next terrorists coup.
It has repeatedly funded, supported, protected, armed terrorists in Libya, Syria and elsewhere.
And to give any credibility to Washington after it non-stop repeated modus operandi of lies upon lies upon lies for war is beyond foolish. It is willful blindness and out right evil.
The repeat false flag gas attack accusations alone are now like an overused bad Onion farce. Washington wanted to immediately attack Assad for "gas attack": in 2013. Turns out evidence showed it was Washington's funded "moderate" terrorist rebels that staged it using chemical weapons smuggled in via Turkey. Last year Washington bombed Syria on accusation of a gas attack which even today Washington admits it has no evidence to blame Assad.
Now again this bombing. IF they were so confident of they allegation why rush to act before any investigation or evidence. "We don't need no stinkin evidence". This from the government that is perpetually wrong and never ending lies.

These heinous acts will continue the anguish of the Syrian Civil War. The rebels will be emboldened. Let's be frank. Trump gets no benefit of the doubt for allegedly pulling his punches.

The French release their “proof” Assad authorized chemical attacks against Douma.
It’s based on pictures and videos and activist testimony, the report says.
(More and more embarrassment for the globalist scum)
Logically it makes no sense. Why would Assad use chemical weapons just after the US announced it was pulling back? Wasn't the use of chemical weapons what drew the attention of the US in the first place? So, the US was gonna leave Syria and let Assad and the Russians deal with rebels (and the terrorists mixed in with them), and they expect us to believe that Assad ruined this turning point in his bid to keep power, by dropping chemical weapons and starting all over again? I'm sorry but I do not believe that Assad is that stupid. We might agree that he is no angel, but he is not that stupid.
It would seem more likely that ISIS or some other terrorist group paid some Syrian general off to get their hands on a bomb (probably using funds that our government supplied them), then detonated it to keep the US involved because they know that the USA will help them against the Syrian regime.
When are we gonna learn that when it comes to Middle Eastern politics, that the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy?

On the flip side, if "animal Assad" of Syria is targeting families of Isarel/Saudi supported Jihadis, won't that be violation of UN War crimes laws? Most families have children too.

That seemed to be the most logical belief from the start. It just did not make sense but then again if you think more about it there has been a history of world leaders making the mistake of believing the US is a paper tiger and that they would not act against violation of treaties, agreements or upon committing genocide. In this case you also have a history of President saying he would pull out of Syria, a cold war history that has never been taken this far, Trump's base and polls showing no one wanted this. With that maybe Russia and Assad believed the US would not act and worst case believed it would be a test of US resolve or an act of defiance.
We did not really know the truth either way in advance and are told now we should trust classified intelligence based on an agencies with a poor track record. This is exactly why there should have been a debate in Congress so we could contact our representatives in advance for or against Congressional authorization based on what should have been presented.
