BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:20 A.M.) – The Syrian military launched their largest attack against the militants
in the eastern Qalamoun region of Damascus, yesterday, a source told Al-Masdar News.

Led by their Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a large barrage of missiles and artillery shells into the eastern Qalamoun region on Wednesday,
causing considerable damage to the militant defenses near the key town of Jayroud.

Islamic State forces based in southern Damascus have apparently accepted a deal offered by the Syrian Army
that will see them evacuated to the country’s east according to early, yet unconfirmed reports.

Sources say that some 1,200 ISIS militants located in the districts of Yarmouk Camp and Hajjar al-Aswad
will surrender their heavy weapons and be transported, along with their families, to an undisclosed location in the Syrian desert.

Reports on this event come not long after the Syrian Army set a 48-hour deadline
for Islamic State fighters in southern Damascus to accept evacuation from the area.

At the same time,

militants belonging to Al-Qaeda affiliate group HTS Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (better known by its former name, Al-Nusra Front)

are to be evacuated to northern Syria per a separate deal.

Moments ago, confirmed information surfaced that the Iraqi Air Force
had begun to target Islamic State positions with multiple strikes in Syria’s eastern province of Deir Ezzor.



According to reports, Iraq warplanes have so far delivered at least five strikes against ISIS in Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside.

An Iraqi military-diplomatic source says that airstrikes are the result of a new agreement reached between Baghdad and Damascus
whereby the latter has given permission to the former to carry out offensive air operations over Syrian territory.

The strikes are apparently to be carried out on a per discretion (i.e. freedom of engagement) basis.

Their aim will be to preemptively break-up concentrations of Islamic State forces that mobilize along the Syrian-Iraqi border
and thus reduce the effectiveness of the terrorist group’s cross-border attacks into Iraq.

Evacuations in the towns of Ruhaybah، Jayroud, and Al-Nassiryah will begin on Saturday morning, following the entrance of Russian and Syrian military police and buses.

Once the last members of Jaysh Thuwar Al-Sham leave these three towns, the entire eastern Qalamoun region will be under Syrian government control for the first time since the advent of this conflict.

Earlier reports that Russian military negotiators had reached a new agreement with non-ISIS militant groups
based in southern Damascus to evacuate rebel fighters from the area have now been confirmed.

As previously hinted at, the new agreement will see rebel factions evacuated from southern Damascus before the defeat
of nearby Islamic State forces – in fact, within a matter of days.

According to a source in the Syrian military, rebel fighters from the districts of Yalda, Beit Sahm and Babila will begin to be relocated on Tuesday.

The insurgent factions Jaysh al-Islam and Jaysh al-Ababil Huran (Free Syrian Army affiliate)
will be evacuated to northern Aleppo and Daraa provinces respectively. All other rebels will be taken to Idlib province.

Finally, the Syrian Army will assume control over militant positions opposite ISIS lines in Hajjar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp
before rebel forces evacuate from southern Damascus.

It is being done this way
to prevent a repeat of what happened in Al-Qadam in March
where rebel fighters evacuated first and left an empty district that both the Syrian Army and ISIS then rushed forces into
resulting in a major operational defeat for the former.

Syrian troops to lead southern Syria offensive, no foreign groups

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:40 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) will lead the upcoming southern Syria offensive, despite reports from pro-opposition accounts regarding a Hezbollah-Iranian build-up.

According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Division and Tiger Forces will take the lead in the first phase of the Dara’a Governorate offensive.

The source added that the Syrian and Russian military commands are focused on reconciliation
and do not want the Israeli forces to get involved in any of the upcoming battles.

The large amount of Syrian soldiers heading to southern Syria will also be enough for this upcoming offensive,
as they are no longer tied up in Homs and Damascus.
