An Economist/YouGov poll finds that almost half of registered U.S. voters — 48 percent — say the party is “too liberal.” Even 13 percent of liberals agree. Few felt the party was not liberal enough.

Yes. No one ever publicly refutes that. They stole that name from Classical liberals. If it quacks, its a duck. If it wants to control every aspect of an individual's being, its a socialist.

Liberalism is no longer what it literally means but rather what the news media tells people it means. Same can be said for "Conservative".

Yep. Liberal used to be a wonderful word, as did conservative.

Now there's no real difference- just a lot of screaming on both sides so they look like they're different to the dumbed down voters.
