Ron Paul’s prescription in 2016 was to vote third party. I concurred with him and most likely will in 2020.

I’m a one issue voter and that issue is war. I would vote for a non-interventionist Democrat who sincerely vowed to bring the troops home, even if she was an avowed socialist.

Tulsi Gabbard is an interesting non-interventionist Democrat, but I doubt she gets the nomination. Some of her positions are pretty far left.

If Gabbard was elected, she’d be the first veteran since H.W. to take office, and can actually poise herself on real middle eastern policy talks where she has front line experience from the Iraq war. Being able to talk about that experience and drive it to her very libertarian foreign policy views, she has a good shot.

If we end up with a Dem nominee that proposes to end the 2nd amendment and Trump is going to go no further on gun control, probably have no choice at that point to vote for Trump unless there is hopefully a very strong 3rd party candidate.

I doubt you will.

They used Bernie to distract Democrats from our overtures. We seem to think partisan alt-right trolls pretending to be us scared potential crossover voters away, but Sanders was serving a purpose, or he wouldn't have gotten all that publicity. Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafer certainly didn't get publicity the way Sanders did. Sanders was useful for involving Democrats in their own Lesser of Two Evils drama in the primaries, before the superdelegates decided the issue. But Sanders will never be put forth as the serious candidate. He's too radical, and too old.

Besides, they're stuck with trying to get a woman elected, after teasing women with the possibility last time and blowing it. It won't be Clinton. It won't be Tulsi Gabbard, I don't think; if it is she's more of a trustworthy Team Player than she seems. So who will it be? Pocahontas? Somebody out of the blue, like Obama was?
