Pretty good guess. The generation is generally defined as being born between 1980-2000ish, so a lot of them grew up in post-9/11 Murica where most freedom is illegal. We reap what we sow, folks.

LOL Remember that oldsters said the same about your generation too, uncle oyarde. It's a story as old as time-old people whining about how the youth are soft and/or corrupt.

“They only care about frivolous things. When I was a boy, we were taught to be discrete and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly impatient of restraint.” -Hesiod 750-650 BC

LOL- they say that about every generation.

My great grandparents were young jazz swing musicians, but swing was evil, according to the oldsters of the day.

For the next generation, Rock'n Roll was a communist plot; all who listened to it were helping the commies- they needed to be more educated and listen to the great jazz that the oldsters now preaching, had grown up with.

    And, so it goes.......

Exactly. You can't very well abandon something you have little knowledge of and never truly embraced to begin with. I think most young people nowadays could be reached with the right message and a little effort. That's not to say I see the love of liberty gery strongly evident among them atm, but there is cause for hope there.

Of much greater concern to me is how many so-called liberty advocates who seem to have lost their friggin' minds and turned their backs on major aspects of the philosophy of liberty in recent years. That is both of grave concern and truly discouraging. If you can't manage to keep the onescyou've already won over, you must be doing something seriously wrong. Either that or you never truly won them over to begin with.

"Government ... does not exist of necessity, but rather by virtue of a tragic, almost comical combination of klutzy, opportunistic terrorism against sitting ducks whom it pretends to shelter, plus our childish phobia of responsibility, praying to be exempted from the hard reality of life on life's terms." Agree about "liberty advocates" who seem to have lost their friggin' minds. Very painful to watch.

I have been involved with people my age who have woken up. Ron Paul was an amazing influence to many. Some have just lost hope.

I am approaching an oldster and I approve this message.
War; everything in the world wrong, evil and immoral combined into one and multiplied by millions.

The Millennials aren't even in charge of the government. How about the Baby Boomers?

I wonder if this naming generations and collectively pidgeonholing them is a Western thing.

Certainly there has been a "de-evolution" however.

    Fiddy Cent ain't Duke Ellington.

    Nicki Mange ain't Billie Holiday.

Oh brother, you have nailed it.

Millennials have been steeped in tyranny and total surveillance since before they were born.

They do not know anything but that.

Trying to explain it to them is like trying to explain wet to a fish.

That said, every generation could not care less about liberty.

Freedom is not popular, no matter how old, or when.
