Exclamation Germany sets up female "safe zones" for New Year's celebrations

    Ah, bask in the diversity.

Security will be heightened to the point where backpacks, alcohol and other items will be totally prohibited.
Sounds like fun...milling about smartly in the cold, with no booze, no fun of any kind.

And these woeman's hamster wheel rationalizations will have them out in the street next week demanding more migration.

Berlin to Set Up Women-Only ‘Safe Spaces’ For New Year’s Eve

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017...new-years-eve/

    by CHRIS TOMLINSON30 Dec 2017

The government of Berlin has decided to create women-only “safe spaces” on New Year’s Eve in order to prevent potential migrant sex attacks that have plagued New Year’s celebrations since 2015.

In order to avoid a repeat of the Cologne sex attacks, the Berlin government announced the creation of women-only spaces in the area near the Brandenburg Gate for New Year’s Eve. The “safety zone” will be, according to organisers, a space for women to go who may have been harassed or feel uncomfortable, and will be staffed by members of the Red Cross, Kronen Zeitung reports.

Hundreds of thousands of party-goers are expected to attend the celebrations in Berlin and authorities say that security will be heightened to the point where backpacks, alcohol and other items will be totally prohibited.

Last year Berlin, along with several other major German cities, saw a number of sex attacks occur on New Year’s Eve.

Event spokeswoman Anja Marx told Reuters, “We are doing this for the first time. The police requested it after they did it at the Munich Oktoberfest this year and it worked out well.” She also noted that trained psychological personnel would also be available on site.

According to Marx, the security costs for the event have reached well over 100,000 euros.

Along with an increased police presence of both uniformed and plainclothes officers, 1,400 firefighters and volunteers will be on hand to put out any potential fires caused by fireworks. Last year firefighters were forced to respond to more than 400 fires.

Other cities in Germany have also ramped up their security, like Hamburg, where police have deployed new camera technology to better identify suspects involved in crimes.

In Cologne, where in 2015 hundreds of sex attacks were reported, city officials have been criticised for handing out anti-rape wristbands as part a of a “respect” campaign to discourage further attacks.

Last year the number of attacks in Cologne greatly decreased but police were slammed by some for allegedly racially profiling North African migrants in order to tackle the problem.

Many victims from 2015 identified migrants as being behind the vast majority of the sex attacks that occurred that year.

NYC New Year's Eve Security Bulked Up After Terror Attacks
TIMES SQUARE, NY — City and state law enforcement agencies are boosting security for the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square in the wake of two terror attacks in as many months, officials announced Thursday.

Thousands of NYPD cops will be in and around Times Square to guard the 2 million revelers expected to swarm Midtown Manhattan for the annual ball drop, police officials said.

The NYPD's heavily armed counterterrorism officers will be out in full force throughout the Times Square area, alongside an increased number of bomb-sniffing dogs, NYPD Chief of Patrol Terence Monahan said.

Anti-sniper teams and a helicopter will be watching from the rooftops, while every single New Year's Eve gathering around the city will be fully staffed with cops on the ground, Monahan said.

"This is going to be one of the most well-policed, best-protected events at one of the safest venues in the entire world," NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill said at a news conference Thursday.

Police don't expect the crowd to be any smaller this year despite predictions of frigid temperatures, with a possible low of 10 degrees and wind chills even colder.

Anyone entering Times Square will have to go through two separate security checkpoints — one at the entrance points at Sixth and Eighth avenues and another at the entrance to the viewing pen.

Each person will either be wanded or go through a metal detector after passing by cops armed with long guns and more highly trained bomb-sniffing dogs, Monahan said. No large bags, coolers or umbrellas will be allowed inside.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered the Port Authority and State Police to beef up their presence at airports, bridges, tunnels and rail and bus terminals with bag checks and heavily armed officers. The MTA will also be monitoring its security systems for any threats, state officials said Thursday.

The NYPD is also stepping up the police presence at transit hubs across the city, officials said. Cops will be on the lookout in the subways following Akayed Ullah's Dec. 11 attempted suicide bombing near the Times Square station.

Police will roll out sand trucks and concrete blocks to protect side streets from cars in the hopes of preventing another attack like Sayfullo Saipov's Oct. 31 assault on the Hudson River Greenway that killed eight people. The Islamic State terrorist group inspired both Saipov and Ullah.

NYPD brass emphasized that there's no specific, credible threat to the city or the New Year's Eve celebrations, despite the recent circulation of ISIS propaganda encouraging terrorists to target Times Square.

Every police precinct in the city will get a tactical bulletin briefing cops on how to respond to a suicide bomber both before and after a blast, Counterterrorism Chief James Waters said.

"Terrorists regard New York as that kind of place they want to disrupt. New Yorkers respond consistently with strength and resiliency," Mayor Bill de Blasio said Thursday.

Police will close down crosstown traffic between 37th and 59th streets from Sixth to Eighth avenues starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Monahan said. The 125 parking garages in that area will be sealed, with no cars allowed in or out.

The NYPD will also have detectives stationed in every hotel in and around Times Square who will work with hotel security to ensure no one staying in the buildings poses a threat, O'Neill said.

German police union chief slams NYE 'safe zone' for women

    http://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/na...192282109.html

    DECEMBER 30, 2017

    BERLIN
A German police union boss has criticized organizers of Berlin's annual open-air New Year's Eve party for designating a special "safety area" for women, saying it suggests they aren't safe from assault elsewhere.

The comments by Rainer Wendt, who heads the right-leaning DpolG union, come amid an ongoing debate in Germany about how to tackle an increase in sexual assaults.

Wendt told the Neue Osnabruecker Zeitung daily in an interview published Saturday that establishing such a safe zone sends a "devastating message."

"By doing so one is saying there are safe zones and unsafe zones" for women that could result in "the end of equality, freedom of movement and self-determination," the newspaper quoted him as saying.

Wendt said the move appeared to ignore the "political dimension" in Germany, two years after hundreds of women reported being assaulted or robbed during New Year's Eve celebrations in Cologne. The suspects in most of those assaults were migrants.

The number of rapes and sexual assaults recorded in Germany last year rose 12.8 percent compared to 2015, to 7,919 cases, an increase blamed on an influx of asylum-seekers, many young and male. Statistics for 2017 aren't yet available.

Experts note that migrants in general aren't more likely to commit crimes than German citizens, but the proportion of crimes they commit may increase as they start to make up a larger share of the population.

The Cologne incident prompted a bill that makes it easier to prosecute sexual assaults and can see foreigners deported more easily if they are convicted of such crimes.

In Berlin, organizers of the free event that draws hundreds of thousands of revelers to the iconic Brandenburg Gate each year said the "Women's Safety Area" was requested by Berlin police.

But a spokeswoman for the force said it merely suggested the safe zone following positive experiences at the Munich Oktoberfest, which has long been plagued by drink-fueled assaults.

"This is a good opportunity to offer women a place to retreat to if they feel harassed," Berlin police spokeswoman Valeska Jakubowski told The Associated Press. She stressed that the area won't be fenced off, as some media reports claimed, and that those seeking help will be assisted by Red Cross staff who always work at the event.

If women want to report a crime, officers would be available to take their statements, Jakubowski said. Last year, Berlin police recorded 14 sexual assaults at the event including two involving rape or "serious duress."

Authorities have stepped up public security measures across Germany for New Year's Eve, with Berlin alone putting an additional 1,600 officers on the streets. Celebrations are traditionally rowdy, with unsafe handling of fireworks causing the majority of incidents.

Other security measures in Berlin include concrete blocks to prevent vehicle attacks and bag searches at entrances to the party area.

2 die from fireworks in Germany, no repeat of mass groping

FRANKFURT, Germany — Two people have died from fireworks injuries during New Year celebrations in Germany, but the country avoided a repeat of the mass groping in Cologne two years ago amid heightened security and efforts to protect women from sexual harassment.

In the Brandenburg region outside Berlin, police said Monday that a 35-year-old man died after igniting fireworks, and a 19-year-old suffered fatal head injuries after he set off a homemade device.

Multiple fireworks injuries also were reported across the country.

Police in Cologne said there were seven cases of sexual harassment, while Berlin police reported 13 and seven arrests as several hundred thousand people celebrated at the city’s Brandenburg Gate.

Police sought to prevent a repeat of the incident two years ago in Cologne when hundreds of women were groped and robbed, mostly by groups of migrants. There were also concerns about possible terror attacks in the wake of the attack on Dec. 19, 2016 in which an asylum seeker drove a truck into a Berlin Christmas market and killed 12 people.

Police barred large bags from barricaded-off pedestrian party areas in Berlin and Frankfurt.

Other fireworks incidents included serious eye injuries to a 14-year-old girl after fireworks were thrown at a group of people in the town of Triptis in the Thuringia region in the east, the dpa news agency reported.

Hand surgeons at Berlin’s trauma hospital worked continuously in three operating rooms through the night treating 21 people, including five with amputation injuries, dpa reported.

Six officers in Berlin suffered temporary hearing loss when a firework was thrown at them during the arrest of a suspect. The 22-year-old man was believed to have thrown a firecracker that blew a hole in a police car’s rear windshield.

Police said they also arrested a 16-year-old girl after she repeatedly threw fireworks at police and confiscated 44 illegal pyrotechnic devices they found in her possession.

Police in Leipzig turned water cannon on a group of up to 50 disorderly people who threw firecrackers at them.

Meanwhile Swedish police tell women to stay home.

Four Swedish women gang raped in Malmo in only two months including a 17 year old that was tortured as well as gang raped and once finished the perpetrators sprayed lighter fluid inside her vagina and set it alight presumably to destroy evidence

Sweden's largest annual musical festival ends due to too many rapes

But never fear, the government that actively imports large numbers of refugees from areas where substantial numbers of ISIS/Al Qaeda and other Wahhabi radicals are fleeing and embedding themselves among refugees, while performing essentially no vetting at all (that it cannot even vet), the same government that disarms its populace with very strict gun control as well as all measure of self defense measures including restricting availability of even pepper spray, and then fails to protect , fails to properly investigate and apprehend perpetrators unless forced kicking and screaming by public outrage, well that government can certainly be trusted upon to bring justice:

Swedish court acquits five apprehended accused participants of a gang rape at knife point that involved twenty men and took place in a stairwell. The victim's head was bashed into the stairwell, she had abrasions, bleeding and bruising, the victim immediately reported it once free, their DNA was found in her and on her body, and three of the defendants admitted to intercourse but claimed it was consensual. The court acquitted the accused because it could not determine how her injuries were sustained in the encounter, or that the gang-bang at knife point that took place with twenty strangers in a run down stairwell was not consensual. WTF?
