What on earth gave you that impression?

I'm going to see it on Thursday, so I don't want to see the video/spoilers, but why do you say '$#@! the bed'? I thought The Force Awakens was awesome.

if Starwars was a foot race, you would have two NFL wide receivers, a hobby Marathon Runner, three cerebral palsy victims with polio legs, and the force awakens would be a 40 year old smoker who works in a cube.
In other words clearly not the loser, but also clearly nothing to be proud of.
There are no crimes against people.
There are only crimes against the state.
And the state will never, ever choose to hold accountable its agents, because a thing can not commit a crime against itself.

But it would be a 40-year-old smoker who works in a cube plastered with posters of one of the wide receivers, because he fantasizes that he's that guy and tries to dress and talk like him.

And not of the receiver in his prime, but as he really is in his 60s-70s: very broken, very confused, no money, prosthesis everywhere.

I liked the original trilogy, never saw any of the others.

I'm almost with you. I saw the first se-prequel and that was enough for me.

The Nerd Crew are pretty entertaining. My son has made me watch a few of their videos. As far as Star Wars goes, I like the first three and, with the exception of the actor who played Anakin, I liked The Clone Wars. I thought the rest were pretty dumb. I'm not sure I can take watching poor Carrie Fisher (RIP) try to talk again. She had so much work done to her face, she was barely recognizable.

Saw it last night with the Mrs. We both really liked it. It's likely to spur debate and many won't like it, but it was fun and pure escapism. Exactly what the doctor ordered. They did leave some major questions unanswered though.

My family saw it today and we all enjoyed it. They did leave some major questions unanswered, but whatever that just leaves room for people to argue/debate.

I personally hated a lot of the movie mainly for what they did with these characters: (no spoilers other than mentioning names)

    Luke
    Leia
    Snoke
That purple haired woman and Poe

Surviving in the vacuum of space for short periods of time is something the jedi have done in a few of the books.

Leia isn't a jedi - she's an untrained force sensitive. She didn't just survive the vaccuum of space. She survived a massive explosion that killed everyone else completely unscathed, and then she used her untrained force abilities to fly through space. It was the perfect moment to kill her off, which was basically necessary given the passing of Carrie Fisher, but they gave her superman level abilities to survive something that has killed jedi in canon. Like Jedi Master Plo Koon in Revenge of the Sith got his ship blown up - not in space - and was of course killed. So we have a completely untrained force sensitive surviving something way more miraculously than a Jedi Master LUL. I guess now this new trilogy has two Mary Sues

She is from the skywalker bloodline, she can do anything. This kind of thing doesn't bother me, as its a fantasy story.

There were like 3 explosions that didn't kill any of the main characters. It's like flesh and flying metal from close proximity explosions don't apply in that universe. Lol...

It won't take very long to get them home but it won't be overnight either but Iraq says they can't stay and they are coming home just like Trump said.

It's just poor story telling. Skywalker bloodline never really meant THAT that much. They still needed training. Anakin needed a lot of training - and he died soon after his suit was short circuited/mask removed. Luke needed a lot of training and never did anything so miraculous - until he did the force ghost thing (and then died of exhaustion.) But nah Leia can do anything because female characters never show any weakness in this new trilogy

I figure if the midichlorians can make an Anakin baby out of nothing, the midichlorians can keep Leia alive in space for a bit without any training.

Yea that's true... I guess the one with Leia just added a new layer of impossibility to it. Not getting hurt by the explosion AND surviving space.

Sad day when we have to refer to what is the second most maligned part of the prequels (after jar jar binks) to justify the stupidity of the new trilogy

Sad day when one over analyzes a fictional fantasy story in order to justify being upset.

I just wanted a story that was fairly consistent with the world and characters that it was being built from. It wasn't consistent at all, and therefore I didn't enjoy the movie.
