How much over spot is the mint selling them at ? I suspect that would be the problem . It also seems to be a problem they have with most things currently . They have a proof set with a silver eagle with an outrageous price , in fact you can buy them both separately for many dollars less . I honestly do not think they have a clue what they are doing .

Could have something to do with bitcoin looking so much better than gold? You buy gold to preserve wealth for decades/centuries. You don't buy it because it gains interest, or have any meaningful appreciation, or to use as a means of exchange.
