Breaking: Flynn says Trump directed him to make contact with Russians...

    Breaking on Drudge:

ABC's Brian Ross: Flynn Prepared To Testify Against Trump, Trump Family, White House Staff
    Ian Schwartz
    December 1, 2017
ABC's Brian Ross reports: Michael Flynn promised "full cooperation to the Mueller team" and is prepared to testify that as a candidate, Donald Trump "directed him to make contact with the Russians."

Kushner Is Said to Have Ordered Flynn to Contact Russia

Now that the retired general has pleaded guilty, the president's son-in-law could be one of the next dominoes to fall.

    December 1, 2017
Two former officials with the Trump transition team who worked closely with Flynn say that during the last days of the Obama administration, the retired general was instructed to contact foreign ambassadors and foreign ministers of countries on the U.N. Security Council, ahead of a vote condemning Israeli settlements. Flynn was told to try to get them to delay that vote until after Barack Obama had left office, or oppose the resolution altogether.

"The president doesn't want to see even one cement mixer in the West Bank," an Israeli political source, briefed by Netanyahu aides, quoted U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell telling an Israeli delegation that met him in London last week.

    Is Kushner in trouble?

And what that deal would involve would deeply interest Mueller, partly if it involves benefits that would not merely accrue to Trump’s presidency, but to Kushner’s personal fortune. Writing for Bloomberg News, Timothy O’Brien, a Trump biographer, said Kushner’s interests with Russia and Israel may extend well beyond his father-in-law’s foreign policy considerations. Kushner’s family is in debt because of its ownership of a Manhattan office tower and Mueller is intrigued about a meeting Kushner took with a banker during the transition. (Kushner has said he met with the banker because of his close ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin, and for no other reason.) He has also in his real estate dealings partnered with one of Israel’s wealthiest families.

There’s more: Kushner reportedly pressed his father to sack then-FBI director James Comey in May. Comey was investigating the very events that have entangled Flynn — and, we now know, Kushner.

So we’re back to the Logan Act. Have the Democrats noticed?
You bet. “This shows a Trump associate negotiating with the Russians against U.S. policy and interests before Donald Trump took office and after it was announced that Russia had interfered in our election,” Bloomberg quoted Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., as saying. “That’s a stunning revelation and could be a violation of the Logan Act, which forbids unauthorized U.S. citizens from negotiating with a foreign power.”

    MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. MUELLER!
FLYNN PLEADS GUILTY; LYING TO FBI
    FLIPPED
    STOCKS HIT

    NYT
Michael Flynn’s Guilty Plea: 10 Key Takeaways

It seems Mr. Trump himself directed Mr. Flynn to make contact with the Russians.
If Mr. Flynn testifies to this — ABC’s Brian Ross is reporting that he will — it presents another impeachable offense along with the possible obstruction of justice. Even more, it brings the whole matter well outside the purview of the criminal courts into the province of a political scandal, indicating abuses of power arguably well beyond those in the Watergate and Iran-contra affairs.

Mr. Flynn asked Russia to intervene at the United Nations on behalf of Israel.
He is admitting that last Dec. 22, he asked Mr. Kislyak to delay or defeat a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel for its settlement policy, which the Obama administration had decided to let pass. The possible involvement or knowledge of Israel in the case will be one of many questions that congressional investigators will pursue.

The lying is bad. Conducting rogue American foreign policy is worse.
In the end, Mr. Flynn’s lies are secondary to the demonstration that the Trump administration was actively undermining American foreign policy before it took office. This will most likely prove the most abiding scandalous fact of the Mueller investigation. And it’s one that nobody on either side of the aisle could possibly defend.

Mr. Flynn’s cooperation portends extreme peril for a variety of people in the president’s orbit.
Most immediately vulnerable? Jared Kushner. Mr. Flynn was present at a Dec. 1, 2016, Trump Tower meeting where Mr. Kushner is said to have proposed to Mr. Kislyak setting up a back channel for the transition team to communicate with Moscow.
Those and related details are now front and center in the investigation. Criminal liability aside, Friday’s news — including a report that Mr. Kushner was the one who directed Mr. Flynn to contact Russia — helps cement Mr. Kushner’s reputation as a callow and arrogant freelancer, authorized by the president to act way over his head, and possibly impairing some of the most delicate and important issues of foreign policy. (A possible winner, on the other hand, is the younger Mike Flynn, about whose criminal liability his father was extremely concerned. Look to see how Mr. Mueller now chooses to treat the younger Mr. Flynn, who is being investigated over his work for his father’s lobbying business.)

Mr. Flynn’s plea raises the likelihood that he will give testimony in support of a potential obstruction of justice charge against Mr. Trump.
The basis for the possible obstruction charge against the president has been his efforts to get the F.B.I. director, James Comey, to shut down the Flynn investigation during a Feb. 14 meeting in the Oval Office, coupled with his multiple lies on the subject. Obstruction is plainly an impeachable offense: It’s the offense for which Richard Nixon was threatened with impeachment.

Flynn was ALREADY in contact with the Russians and Ukrainians though - fault Trump campaign for hiring him and then firing him,
    but this is FBI bull$#@!.

FBI under Comey acknowledged Hilly's 7 Top Secret emails when she went off the .gov State Department reservation -
that's just of the emails Hilly returned to the State Department as USA property - Vladimir Putin probably HAS plenty more,
and it is the very code that gave Russian cybernauts the open AI back door into commadeering the USS John McCain navigation systems
into a Singapore oil tanker at night this year.

Trump hired a guy with Russian contacts since 2014, and he did not register as a foreign agent.

Hillary Clinton going off the mandated protected .gov cyberspace - and not returning those emails and their special in's
of code/routing to be even available to the FBI, cybersecurity experts in USA, the Congressional subpoena and
any other authority like the National Archives whose property those deleted emails and routing code belong to, as required by USA law
turns out to be exactly just what(?) to the FBI - a non-prosecutable treason because Dims had the FBI in there pocket(?)
USA doesn't even know what Russia can do with that because of the failure to provide that USA property back to
reverse engineer what is being done - or can be done - with it.
Now what if, say for example, the North Koreans - can steer more than the little ole USS John McCain (?)
    - maybe like a fire and fury strike from the USA. Jus' sayin'

Well, if Trump directed someone on his team to talk to someone from Russia, that's a serious concern.

It is as much about domestic politics, if not more, as it is about "Russia".

James Comey offers some biblical inspiration after Flynn guilty plea

    • "But justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream," Comey wrote on Twitter and Instagram.
    • Comey didn't mention Flynn directly, but the former law enforcement official is connected to the Flynn case in several ways.

The "Statement of the Offense" - Flynn's crime

...wait a minute... Obama enacted sanctions against Russia - over their intention of interfering in the election - just one day before Flynn spoke with an ambassador? And this occurred almost 2 months AFTER the election was over? Sounds like a set up.

    from zero hedge:
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-1...plea-agreement
"Statement Of The Offense": Here Is Mueller's Full Case Against Flynn

As the public scrambles to uncover more information on just what Flynn knows, or doesn't know, and how exactly he is cooperating with Mueller, moments ago the Special Counsel has released the following "statement of the offense", i.e., i.e., Robert Mueller full case against Flynn, which he will hope to use and impeach Trump. It all boils down to two phone calls between a senior member of the Trump administration and the Russian ambassador to the US at the time.

    Here is the key section:

On or about December 28, 2016, then-President Barack Obama signed Executive Order 13757, which was to take effect the following day. The executive order announced sanctions against Russia in response to that government's actions intended to interfere with the 2016 presidential election. On or about December 28, 2016, the Russian Ambassador contacted FLYNN. On or about December 29, 2016, FLYNN called a senior official of the Presidential Transition Team ("PTT official"), who was with other senior members of the Presidential Transition Team at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss what, if anything, to communicate to the Russian Ambassador about the U.S. Sanctions.

On that call, FLYNN and the PTT official discussed the U.S. Sanctions, including the potential impact of those sanctions on the incoming administration's foreign policy goals. The PTT official and FLYNN also discussed that the members of the Presidential Transition Team at Mar-a-Lago did not want Russia to escalate the situation. Immediately after his phone call with the PTT official, FLYNN called the Russian Ambassador and requested that Russia not escalate the situation and only respond to the U.S. Sanctions in a reciprocal manner. Shortly after his phone call with the Russian Ambassador, FLYNN spoke with the PTT official to report on the substance of his call with the Russian Ambassador, including their discussion of the U.S. Sanctions.

On or about December 30, 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin released a statement indicating that Russia would not take retaliatory measures in response to the U.S. Sanctions at that time. On or about December 31, 2016, the Russian Ambassador called FLYNN and informed him that Russia had chosen not to retaliate in response to FLYNN's request. After his phone call with the Russian Ambassador, FLYNN spoke with senior members of the Presidential Transition Team about FLYNN's conversations with the Russian Ambassador regarding the U.S. Sanctions and Russia's decision not to escalate the situation.

There is more, including a similar contact between the Russian ambassador and Flynn over a UN vote, in the full document. It is worth noting that both events used in the Mueller prosecution took place after the election had already concluded, which prompts the question: wasn't Mueller's charge to uncover how Russia colluded to help elect Trump, and not how Trump was looking to de-escalate the abysmal diplomatic relations between Obama and Putin?

That was quick, Newsweek has floated the I-word question already:

Will Trump Be Impeached Based on Michael Flynn’s Russia Revelations?

By Nicole Goodkind On 12/1/17 at 1:56 PM

It is possible that special counsel Robert Mueller will soon have the evidence he needs to implicate President Donald Trump as having colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election?
Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn, pleaded guilty Friday morning to “willfully and knowingly making false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to the FBI regarding his conversations with Russian ambassadors. As part of his plea deal, Flynn admitted that he was directed by a senior member of the Trump transition team to make contact with Russian officials in December 2016.

White House Lawyer Ty Cobb released the following statement on behalf of Trump:

Today, Michael Flynn, a former National Security Advisor at the White House for 25 days during the Trump Administration, and a former Obama administration official, entered a guilty plea to a single count of making a false statement to the FBI.
The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in his resignation in February of this year. Nothing about the guilty pleas or the change implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn. The conclusion of this phase of the Special Counsel’s work demonstrates again that the Special Counsel is moving with all deliberate speed and clears the way for a prompt and reasonable conclusion.

Michael Flynn 'prepared to testify against Donald Trump' over Russia links

Donald Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn is reportedly prepared to testify against the US president as part of an FBI investigation into Russian interference in the presidential election.

The reports sent the US stock market plunging with the dollar diving 0.5 per cent against a basket of the leading global currencies.

Flynn is prepared to testify that President Donald Trump directed him to make contact with Russians when he was a presidential candidate, ABC News reported.

Jared Kushner, Mr Trump’s son-in-law, was also named in US media reports as another figure who asked Flynn to reach out to officials from Russia, among other countries.

The former adviser admitted lying to the FBI over his links to Russia today and has agreed to share information about a "very senior" official as part of a plea deal.

Flynn has also said that a senior member of Mr Trump's transition team directed him to make contact with Russian officials in December 2016.

The unnamed senior transition official at Mar- a-Lago directed Flynn to contact the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Flynn reported back to the official, a US court has heard.
Kushner is believed to be the "unnamed senior official".
