Default Trump directs Senate GOP leaders to work w/ Rand Paul on Tax plan

Trump is forcing "tax writers from the Senate leadership, Finance Committee, and the White House" to respect and include input from the wise and knowledgable Senator Rand Paul! In the past, Rand has complained that the senate leadership wanted him to sit down, shut up and let the career politicians run the show. Anyone else think this is kind of significant? I'm almost feeling some hope about this tax plan.

Sen. Rand Paul: Let's pass big and bold tax cuts now!
BY SEN. RAND PAUL (R-KY.), OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 10/26/17 08:00 AM EDT

...I have been and will continue to be a loud voice for across-the-board tax cuts for everyone – rich, poor, and middle class. When the GOP leadership plan first came out, I raised a warning flag and urged the tax plan writers to slow down and make sure they got it right. Some simple calculations were telling us that some middle or upper-middle-class taxpayers could have been subject to a tax hike, if the tax plan eliminated big deductions for the middle class while keeping the 25 percent rate the same.

The D.C. swamp has paid-for toadies on the left and the right. From the right come cries that I am opposing the tax plan. Far from it. I am trying to make it better. The pretend tax-cutters who argue that conservatives should shut up, sit quietly in the back of the bus, and let the leadership write the tax plan are wrong. Conservatives get outfoxed and bamboozled when we acquiesce and hope for the best.
Some of these swamp creatures on the right forget that the primary directive for conservatives is to lower taxes, not just eliminate deductions. Most of us can be convinced that repealing the state income tax deduction is good policy, but only after we’re convinced that your “reform” is not going to raise taxes on the middle class.

Fortunately, our agitation has borne fruit. Tax writers from the Senate leadership, Finance Committee, and the White House — at the personal direction of President Trumphave been working with my office for weeks to get some of the details right. I believe this will happen, and I’m very encouraged by the results so far and their willingness to see the problems and help me correct them.

With that in mind, I’ve offered the president and congressional leaders my full support for cutting taxes for Americans - and doing so quickly. I look forward to it coming to the floor soon...

    Good.
Theye have refused their Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

Theye have erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

Theye kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies

Theye have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution,

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

Theye plundered and destroyed the lives of our people.

Theye are at this time transporting Armies of Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of a civilized nation.

Again, pointing out the style. Trump has basically fired McConnell and the rest of leadership without actually firing them. Rand has shown he has ideas and will lead. He's now in charge of the project.

Trump doesn't want to participate in their charade.

What are we going to do now? This guy, Rand, is gaining too much power. Do we have any dirt on him? What about his father?

Rand has done a great job of building an alliance with Trump. I would rather have a President Paul but this is good.

Hasn't he though? It's like a gift. I think being a doctor probably helps - they have to deal with all manner of people while never offending anyone. Of course, (and I'm certainly not the first to say it) he's learned from the best!

Hillary would have let Rand lead a project like this, too.

Now if Trump can see the power of the Dark Side, 7 years of a Rand alliance could embolden Liberty candidates and Rand's own campaign in 2024.
    They fought the Wars
    They lost.
    They turned friends
    into enemies.
    Who became
    friends of our enemies.
They stood alone, in splendid isolation,
And said it was their only choice.

Yeah the whole spinning all of Rand Paul's politlcal wins into Trump wins is going to get old fast, Rand Paul would be commanding the senate and winning the argument no matter who would of won, and the whole Hillary would of walked over the republican congress is bull$#@!. They had at least got the sequester under Obama, they won't cut $#@! with Turd in power.
As he rose to begin his nearly 13-hour filibuster Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said "no American should be killed by a drone on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.", responding to all the attention Paul got for his filibuster, Holder sent the senator this brief statement:
"It has come to my attention that you have now asked an additional question: 'Does the President have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on American soil?' The answer to that question is no."

"I Kind Of Won My Battle," Paul Says:
On CNN a moment ago, the senator said that Holder's statement means "I kind of won my battle" and that he's satisfied with the response he's gotten.

Smart tactical move for Trump. Trump needs Rand's vote to get anything thru. Why have him as opposition? Get him involved and let him think his opinion matters. Get him close to you and then have him compromise his strong no into an okay I think this is a good place to start.

    Yassssss!!!

25 years of extreme non-stop liberalism (in its incorrect modern sense) has scared mainstream Republicans from tax reform.

No longer empty words. Go Rand!

It would be enough to go through the list of amendments he was quietly pushing through the senate to get rid of this idiot.
